We did enjoy having the lovely Joyce and her immaculate family stay in our home, it is unfortunate her stay coincided with a heatwave - a rare occurrence in London. The bedrooms are in the eaves and even with fans, it was not ideal. Fortunately it only lasted for 2 days.

I would like to say how sorry I am that a guest renting my house did not enjoy themselves. In all the 8 yrs/ 21 reviews for this home, I have never had less than a 5 * review (and 2/4 *). I work very hard to ensure customer satisfaction, and I did no less for this guest’s stay, sadly to no avail. It is unfortunate that this guest misconstrued all efforts to make their stay safe and enjoyable concerning the house procedures which include advising the owner if any extra guests, that are not on the intial enquiry, are to stay overnight. This is outlined in the contract/terms, both of which they read & signed. We also ask to advise immediately if any accidental damage has been caused. As this review points out, the home is beautifully appointed, the soft furnishing are high end, however it is nonetheless very much a family home. We live here with our children. It was extremely distressing for me to have to manage this guest, who was contrary, the likes of which I have never experienced. This review contains inaccuracies: we would never spy on our guests (!); my husband never made any unannounced visits /he was doing some mainteance on our rental home next door; all exchanged texts were to do with operational aspects of the home: mainly organising damage accidentally caused by the granddaughter being sick on a rug; I did knock once ‘unannounced’ at 11a.m when I saw said rug outside clearly in a bad state, - front door was open -she was downstairs and came outside right away to explain what had happened; we do recommend using kitchen cloths IF children are eating on dining chairs (as the fabric is high end) - a prudent protective measure; I never disturbed her rest, nor awoke her; the washcloths are there as a courtesy to remove make up; I asked if she wanted to pay cash for the small matter of cleaning the rug to allow her deposit to be returned in full on her cc - I did not then know about the further damage, that she admits to in her review & did not disclose to me; at the time of her initial booking, I was not accepting credit cards, but now I am (because VRBO require it). It is clear this house was not a good fit for this family. They did not appreciate it, nor the discreet notices to assist/protect guests. This is our home, we are very proud of it, our standards are high.
