This large 3-level cabin in the heart of Townsend, TN is just outside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Gray Door Cabin and is the perfect retreat for families, couples or large groups. With 4 bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths, this cabin will comfortably accommodate 11 guests. Each room is equipped with a Smart TV. High speed internet is also included with your rental, allowing you to easily access your entertainment apps and stream your favorite movie and TV shows.

With a private hot tub, gas grill, large back deck, fire pit area, and gas fireplace, you may not ever want to leave. If you do want to venture out, you are only a few miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Cherohala Skyway, Tuckaleechee Caverns, hiking trails, river tubing, fishing, restaurants and the small town charm of Townsend, TN. Or, you can explore and enjoy the surrounding area - conveniently located to Pigeon Forge/ Dollywood (approx. 35-min drive), and Gatlinburg (approx. 45-min drive).

family getaway

we had 3 family households staying together, the cabin gave us some much room. plenty of rooms to spread out and spaces to come together. location was great, had a great swimming spot just down the street just inside the park. was very clean and well kept property. already looking forward to coming back someday.

Not a lot of common space for gathering together in one area. It would have been great if our grandkids were teens as there was a separate area of gaming set up for that age group. Other than that everything was great. Easy to find, good connectivity, and beds were reasonably comfortable.

Beautiful and quiet.

This house exceeded my expectations. There are three levels each with their own bedrooms and bathrooms. It’s great for families or multiple couples. The house is super clean and has everything that you need. We spent every night in the backyard by the fire, enjoying the view and the fireflies. It was so quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this house.

Another great stay

We have staying here three years in a row and we love the location. The house is very well maintained and has nice perks like coffee! Which is so nice when you wake up the first morning and realized you forgot to bring some. Very well stocked kitchen and all the paper products etc we needed for a 3 night stay. We love the downstairs movie room and the beds are comfortable. Close to town but off the road and an awesome view in the backyard. Kids loved the hot tub too!

Great Location

Very convenient location for getting in and out of the park, particularly Cade's Cove and hiking around that area. Townsend has solid amenities. House had plenty of room for us, two adults, four children under 10. Plenty of nice touches, would return due to location, proximity to Park entrance.

Elder's Retreat

Our four-day stay at this property was all it was listed to be. Very comfortable, including the beds. Everything was clean and grocery store and restaurants were short distances away. Highly recommend and will use this property again in the future.

Two children, two adults, and two seniors stayed here very comfortably. Perfect location for accessing Cades Cove. Much more relaxed than Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

Beautiful Cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin! It was very clean and in a great location! It was very private but still close to town. There was nine of us and everyone had their own space! We loved all getting together on the gorgeous back deck! Beautiful view and we loved watching the birds! Would definitely stay here again!

Inside so clean

The inside of the home was so clean and smelled so good. We did have issues with the kehrig coffee pot and it was really dark in the living room area. I am picky about things being clean and they do a SUPER job in the inside.

Property is amazing. Home is beautiful and cozy, but really cozy, not just “VRBO cozy!” We had THE BEST time. Super convenient, super clean, super views out the back windows/porch!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this property. There is a reason every review says “we will be back” or “second time staying here.” If you’re considering this property, the answer is YES, it is THE ONE!” We are adding our name to the “we WILL be back” list!!!! Wonderful stay!

We needed a last minute place to stay and this was a new listing so it was available for us. From the moment we pulled up to this picturesque house/cabin until our very last day, this has been a blessed one-week retreat for our family. The outside of the home has gorgeous roses and a lovely green lawn surrounded by trees and awesome Smokey mountains. The trees were changing colors during our stay. Views from both the front and back porches/decks were magnificent. In the back, cows daily roamed on the other side of the fence. The sounds of a moo every once in a while along with the birds chirping made this such a serene spot away from normal busy activities. We grilled on the clean nice gas grill, enjoyed the two outdoor tables and lovely furniture. We walked down the meticulously framed gravel walkway out back to the fire pit. The drive from pigeon forge to the house was great with no steep mountain roads, just a pretty and short 30 minute drive. The drive to Maryville where the airport is located is great with four-lane part of the way. We’ve never stayed in Townsend before and I can’t imagine a more perfect home and spot for our family. We attended RIO church nearby Sunday. IGA grocery store, local food places and Pizza Hut were just 4 minutes away. We felt we had the country/mountains to ourselves and yet all we needed was so close by. We were able to get delivery via UPS, which we weren’t able to get in some places we’ve stayed. The house itself had new well-made furniture throughout. It had wonderful white linens and lots of plush towels. The gas fireplace was so cozy and warm on a cool night. The big push of a button recliners downstairs in the TV room were nice for a movie. We didn’t use the game room, but it is another cozy area for gathering. We liked that the downstairs had big windows and lots of light as well as a door to the driveway and yard. It was fun to complete a 2,000 piece puzzle next to the fire during our stay while enjoying lively conversations and laid back moments. We liked the king beds in both the main level smaller en-suite bedroom and the large bedroom downstairs. The two upstairs bedrooms were large with a shared full bathroom. The two new beanbags with drink holders were enjoyed by our teenagers. It was nice to have two separate AC units. Everything was clean, including the well stocked kitchen. No spider webs even on the beautiful decks. Great stay in a very special place!
