About this property
Secluded yet easy walk to casino
When your hosts dad bought this property in 1947, this was a 2 story log cabin constructed at the end of the 1800’s . At that time the top logs were brought down to ground level and rebuilt as a one room one level cabin with a small kitchen and bath added. This property is very centrally located in Cherokee, an easy walk to harrahs casino. And 2 miles from the southern entrance of the GSMNP.

The location is literally across the street from the casino its in a good location. The place was clean. The host was quick to respond and accommodating until the last day when they turned off the electricity and water an hour b4 check out and didnt respond. Also I felt I was being watched most the time because the neighbor came up to my car the first night, questioned me, and continued to question me and my coworker about what we are doing and who we were throughout the 12 days we stayed. Be sure to have bug spray and citrus scent. We had huge wasp and carpenter bees coming into the place throughout the stay and ALOT of carpenter bees surround the place. Again conveniently placed and beautiful, yet my stay was not very comfortable due to wasp, neighbor, and funny acting turning of the water and electricity. The tv also didnt turn on and the remote didnt work
We totally enjoyed our stay at this charming cabin! It was in a great location, had everything we needed and met all of our needs! We had so much fun exploring all that Cherokee has to offer! We will gladly come back for another visit!

Bad
All the windows were open and the fans were on full force when we arrived. And as we entered we realized why there was a terrible wood smell inside that was breath taking. I brought some body-spray with me that I used and it didn’t help a bit. Also when I cooked some dinner a mouse ran out from the stove, my husband shewed him outside and he came back in. We for fitted a whole day because of these things and we will not be returning.
Used as base for a two day trip in Gsm. A little over one hour to clingman's dome. Food Lion w/in 5 min driving. Everything is exactly as listed/photoed. Clean, simple and practical. Extraordinary communication in ensure sooth check-in and informing us fun events in town. Thank you.
The property is located in a very nice community. Great location for surrounding attractions. The cabin was very well kept and had a great back porch with privacy. My overall rating was a 4 . The only thing was the beds which were rolling beds with a very thin mattress so not very comfortable. Other than that I would highly recommend this property....
We enjoyed are stay! I would recommend that the TV be upgraded because it was very fuzzy. Other than that, it was a cozy little cabin! Thanks for allowing us to stay!
Super close to the Harrah's Cherokee Casino. It's a 5 minute walk door to door. Very cool looking cabin. Great porch. It's a little larger than I thought it would be based on the description. One thing I would recommend for the owner. Some kind of lights along the driveway would be very nice. Other than that, I love the place. It's a nice way to take a break from the casino. They also have a larger house next door on vrbo. If I come with a group, I'd love to stay there.
I checked in and as always with every place I stay, I checked the beds. There were visible bugs crawling on the blanket under the comforter. I called the host and she told me to lock the property back up and go on to rent the hotel down the street and she would get with Vrbo on how to refund my money. Once I left her property she then completely changed her tune and refused to refund me anything. I payed her for 2 days and only stayed about 30 minutes before having to go to a local hotel and pay to stay the weekend. Unless you want bugs crawling on you while you sleep, by all means avoid this 2 room shack that is listed as a cabin!!
Great location to the casino and amazing rustic feel
If you want to be a less than five minute walk to the casino, but sill feel like you're away from everything, this is your place. It's right behind the Days Inn. There is a little bit of wooded area separating the cabin from the casino area. Beds were pretty comfortable. And that's coming from someone who owns a furniture store. The owner also has a larger place right next to this one if you need more rooms. My buddy and I were super comfortable here. Would get again in a heart beat.
The rental process went seamlessly and the cabin was just what my wife and I were looking for for a weekend getaway. It had everything we needed and the communication with the host was top notch.
I am very pleased with the house and owner. The cabin I rented for the weekend wasn't ready. The owner placed us in the appropriate house to fit more than our needs. The house was wonderful. The story behind the house made it even more memorable.
