Welcome!
We have 3 completely charming and cozy Cottage Chalets at our famous BellaVue Estate, newly remodeled and sparkling clean! This listing is for Cottage #2.

HOW DID OUR CUTE LITTLE COTTAGES COME TO BE?
The property owner and his little girl had been working on plans for her dream “play house”. One day he had an idea. “Let’s make it bigger!” These cottages are exact replicas of their original play house design…. just life-size! We can’t wait for you to come stay..... and play!!

In addition to the three Cottages, our Estate has a 4-story Mansion and a 1BR Studio Suite for rent. That's 5 rentals total and they can be rented separately or as a group, whatever you need!

The grounds here are incredibly serene and beautiful, with amazing mountain views, outdoor seating areas, as well as grassy play areas, cascading rock waterfall and our Sedona Red Rock fire pit. We have free parking on site and we're convenient to everything in town.

The Estate is also adjacent to Foxglenn Park with multiple picnic areas, playground equipment, huge grassy fields, skate park, and access to walking, hiking and biking trails.

ABOUT OUR COTTAGE CHALET: Our Cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests in beds. The loft bedroom has a Queen Memory-foam bed, wrapped in the coziest UGG bedding and professionally laundered Premiere Linens, just begging for a long, lazy morning.

JUST ADDED for kids of all ages... a small sleeping nook, "Harry Potter" room, with Twin memory-foam mattress only, and sliding barn door for privacy. Access to this fun, unique little space requires a 3ft. climb up galvanized steel piping, attached directly to the wall. Come give this cozy little hideaway a try! We also provide a full-size sleeper sofa in the family room.

This is a recent review from a guest who stayed in Cottage #3, but the design is the same for all our Cottages...
"I don’t think there’s enough space to recount all the amazing things about this cottage. It makes sense why it (the whole property) can also be used as a wedding venue. The scenery seemed like something out of a fairy tale, deer included! The leaves were changing, the weather was chilly and rainy, nature was abundant and thriving. The cottage was clean and tidy, it was so comfortable and cozy with the cutest decorations like little succulents and marble coasters. There was even a charming warmer that looked like a
fireplace. All the amenities we needed were provided to us by the hosts. It can
comfortably accommodate 4 adults if necessary. There is a small nook in the wall that would be the perfect hideaway to do homework or read or just be alone. We didn’t get to plan to use the fire pit but it would have been perfect for the cool weather. The hosts were readily available and as friendly and inviting as can be. There is a Walmart 5 driving minutes away, a convenience store, and even a park and skate park! The views look like something out of a Bob Ross painting - surreal! My only regret was having to leave this
amazing place. This was the best vacation rental I have ever stayed at and I plan to return as soon as possible!"

Family Reunion Homebase

This property was a great place to host our family reunion which consisted of 36 people. We rented the entire facility (including chalets and studio). The mansion was large enough to house our daily activities and allow family members to grow closer together. We could spread out and do several things at once or just relax and visit. This was an excellent place to do a family reunion.

Neighborhood is safe and wonderful. Residents are friendly and helpful. Cottage was clean, tidy, equipped for all standard needs. Beware if over 6 feet, 1st floor ceiling is a bit over 7', however shower is mainly for average size humans. 2nd Floor, front facing is dicy for anyone of averge or above height, it slants and you have to duck or hunch yourself around and out. The bed in the "Harry Potter"room also has a slant that could cause "headaches".... Parking wasnt an issue, lit and safe. Theres a local park, that is connected to the "Urban Trail" very good for a little bit of Neighborhood nature.

So cozy!

Great place to stay! Close to parks, mountain, and town. Great space, felt like home vs a hotel. Owner was very friendly and welcoming! We will definitely be back and next time bringing more family along, you can be together while being in separate houses, LOVE the concept and property.

Very clean, nice and conveniently located!

Very clean and nice! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals; there was access to laundry and the check in process was very easy. Great location - quiet and secluded, but not too far from downtown.

If Mother Nature would listen to us better we would have ordered some cooler weather for you!!! Thankfully our typical “warm season” lasts only a few weeks out of the whole year, so most residences in Flagstaff do not have air conditioning. We do try to utilize our low night time temps that dip down into the 50’s in the summer, and provide our guests with some written instructions with tips for maximizing that cool air during the day. This can really help keep our properties comfortable. We’re so glad to hear you had a good stay with your family though. We love family and hope you were able to make some wonderful memories together! Thanks again for letting us be your hosts. We would love to have you back anytime!

Quaint little bungalow

We loved the experience. Was perfect for an adult couple looking to hole up. Great little hideaway bedroom for kids, but not a ton of floor space, so if you have children plan on being out of the house most of the time. Overall we loved the space, and the landlords were great!

Bellevue Review

The cottage is perfect for two people, although there is an additional sleeping area that would accommodate a child. The cottage is well designed to maximize space. It is also well equipped, but a baking pan would have helped. the microwave is really powerful. The property is adjacent to the interstate and is located in a very nice residential area. The owner was very responsive to any issues we had and addressed them quickly to our greatest satisfaction. If we return to the Flagstaff area I would not hesitate to return to this property.

Cute - falls a little “short”

Cute property and well decorated but fell a bit short of expectations. We rated an overall 4 because: not as clean as expected, no sugar for coffee, didn’t receive shampoo/conditioner or soap for shower, didn’t receive required parking pass (but were not harassed for lack there of). My husband and I are not tall people, but had to be diligent about not bumping our heads on dormer ceilings in bedroom. Surprised to find mattress and box spring on floor with no frame, also due to dormer ceilings. Large enough closet but only one luggage rack and a small rack on one side with 4 hangers. The closet situation is easily remedied by adding another luggage rack and clothes hanger bar. Listing says for 4 people but that would be only 2 adults and 2 children. 4 adults or 2 couples would not be comfortable, there is not enough lounge or dining seating for 4 adults.

Hi Keith and Laura! I don’t think we had the pleasure of meeting you while you were here? I sincerely wish we could have! And just as importantly, we really wish we could have heard about your concerns during your stay. That’s a bummer. We are easily accessible and readily available to help get you comfortable and taken care of. We really strive to provide the best experience possible for our guests. If we fell short, we do apologize. Just a couple of things we’ll mention is maybe you missed seeing the shampoo, conditioner and body wash? They are always in the cabinet below the bathroom sink. Maybe just an over-sight? Also, the memory foam mattress sits on an actual bed base. We know, it may look like a box spring, but it’s made for those comfy mattresses and function much better than the older box spring style beds. The parking passes are given out more for your sake than for ours. No need to worry about that. The pass makes sure our guests always have a parking spot, especially when we have a larger group in the Mansion. The group we had when you were here was small, so you were totally fine. Plenty of room for everyone. We do hope you enjoyed Flagstaff! September is such an amazing time of year here. The weather just can’t be beat. Thank you for your stay. We really do appreciate it!

17th anniversary get away

Just as advertised. Very cute and clean. Bed, pillows and linens were comfy. Check in was easy with a lock box code. Location was good. Convenient store/gas station on the corner. While walking back from store we seen a family of deer crossing the road. In the morning we seen a doe and baby in the yard. Shampoo, conditioner, hotel size bar of soap, and pump hand soap provided. Was happy to find a blanket in the closet to snuggling on the couch with while watching a movie on the Netflix provided. Now for the negatives. The property is rented by a management company. With that said, its the first we have ever stayed in that was not rented personally. The difference made it feel more like a hotel. Nothing personal or extra. The only food/drink provided was coffee, filters and a few packets of sugar. We had to pick up creamer and sugar to drink our coffee. There was not even salt and pepper. There were 2 washcloths and 4 towels provided so had to reuse washcloths. Was also odd that we had to fill out and return a form with our credit card info on it before our reservation was excepted. At 8am the park nextdoor had a game which consisted of someone on the microphone talking for 30 mins and loud misicplaying. There was no where to sit outside to enjoy the evening breeze or have morning coffee.

We realize it's been awhile since your stay, but we wanted to say hi and thank you for choosing one of our Bellavue Estate Cottages for your getaway. You're close to your 18th anniversary now! Don't they come faster and faster every year!?!? Thank you for your comments. We really do appreciate your feedback. Thank you for your kind words and we’re glad you got to see all those deer! Aren't they great? I never tire of seeing them in nature or even on the street! We're sorry to hear there were some simple things that weren't available during your stay and that it seemed less personal of an experience for you. The management company is just my husband and myself. Yes. True story! My husband and I own Bellavue and so we really do rent it out personally. We try to make our booking process as seamless as possible, so if guests provide credit card information up front, we are only holding credit for their refundable damage deposit during the actual dates of their stay. If handled this way, the damage deposit automatically cancels within a couple of days after their stay. The 2nd option for a damage deposit is for us to send a payment request through the booking site for payment, and those actual funds are held from the time you book your stay until 7-10 days after your stay. Many of our guests prefer the convenience of the 1st option, as well as not having their funds tied up for a long period of time. We hope this makes our easy booking process a little more clear. We are also excited to let you know that all our Cottages have gone through a complete remodel, which we finished in April, and they are fantastic! They are stocked with all you will need for an amazing stay, and full of cozy, beautiful furnishings and décor. We also finished a massive landscape project with an expansive courtyard featuring beautiful outdoor seating, Sedona Red Rock firepit and relaxing water feature. We hope you made some great memories while you were here and we would love to be your hosts again sometime!

Quirky Cuteness

While the floor plan is challenging, and the hide-a-bed uncomfortable.... This affordable unit is very well appointed, well stocked, very clean, with thoughtful decor, quality cabinets and appliances, a cute gas fireplace stove, hot and strong pressured water, and sufficient WIFI. The property is beautiful and peaceful among the pines with a lovely water feature ; next to a huge park connected to a suburban trail system. We found the location very quiet, and not very sonically affected by the notorious BNSF train. We were able to sleep with the windows open for that fresh, therapeutic mountain air. Because of the popularity of this property, parking can be a bit of a challenge - as we once had to park on the side of the driveway. No big deal though, as long as it’s acceptable. Our hosts respectfully left us alone, and we never needed to contact them. One can tell that they really care about their property. The only reasons my wife and I will not be returning to this unit is the layout and the uncomfortable convertible sofa. It might be more popular with younger folks. This is a quaint 2-story studio, resulting in the lofted master bed areas (with a huge) not being conveniently located near the 1st floor bathroom. Because of the layout, in that regard, we thought we’d try sleeping on the hide-a-bed. That test-drive experience left us with the only option of sleeping upstairs on the comfortable bed and, some times, having to navigate the stairs in the middle of the night. We also found it to be more convenient and practical for us to leave our luggage/clothes on the first floor, in order to be closer to the bathroom. The check-in/check out expectations of the host/owner were very reasonable, and we would definitely rent from them again at a different location. The host seems to be a very professional and personable landlord.

We love the title of your review, Kelly! We’ve heard lots of descriptions of our Cottage Chalets but quirky is new for us! Haha! It’s great! Ohhhhhhhh, sofa beds! We’re sure sorry to hear about your experience with that. We feel for you! We’ve decided that if someone really wanted to make a ton of money, we have the best idea for them…create a comfy sofa bed!! Seriously! We totally get it. I think the whole world would cheer if that would be invented. Some adults use our sofa bed, but it’s mostly the kiddos that don’t have a care in the world and it works just fine for them. We’ve slept on sofa beds a number of times and it’s nothing we want to repeat very often as an adult. It’s just not that fun. On the other hand, we are certainly glad you got to enjoy your time here at Bellavue and in Flagstaff and all the beautiful weather we had then. It was such a beautiful time of year. We’re grateful for your stay with us!

Don't believe their deep cleaning commitment

The good first: the property manager is very professional and friendly. He gave very precise and detailed instructions to get there. Free washer and dryer across the courtyard. Also very good shower and water pressure. Now the bad and ugly: as others pointed out, the property is pretty small in size, and there's no dining area whatsoever. We arrived with that in mind from reading other reviews, so no surprise and complaint in that regard. What we didn't expect is that on the 2nd night before sleeping I found a bunch of long blond hair on the queen bed sheet. We arrived late on the first night and went straight to sleep so we didn't notice. The hair was definitely not my wife's. Totally different color, different length, and different texture. To my disgust we discovered even more long blond hair in the comforter as well. The same hair were also everywhere on the night stand. We booked this property to a great extent because of their claimed deep cleaning commitment during the covid times. Well, that's just a lie. They didn't even bother to change the sheets between guests! We ended up tossing everything in that bed on the floor and used the spare set of bedding in the closet. At least those looked clean. To think that we unknowingly slept for one night in dirty bedding used by the previous guests is just totally appalling, especially during these times when cleanness of a property has never been more important. They can't even stick to the most basic rudimentary hygiene standards, let alone so-called "deep cleaning" commitment. We've used Airbnb/vrbo extensively both domestically and abroad. Well, I'm sorry to say that this experience tops them all as the worst. Never again.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, Samuel! We are quite surprised to hear about your experience, for the first time, in your review. We didn’t realize you were silently suffering!! We feel like you do about finding hair! That’s not good at all!! We are so easy to contact, we sure wish we could have heard from you then and we would have been quick to help in whatever way we could. If we didn’t actually change sheets between guests and we didn’t use professionally laundered linens for every guest, we wouldn’t be so shocked! But we do. We have never heard of this happening and can’t even say how this happened or where it came from. We really feel for you and we do apologize. Our housekeepers are top-notch, but we also know “human” things can happen sometimes. Our sincere apologies to you and your wife. We’ll continue to monitor our housekeeping and do all we can to make our guest’s stays the best they can be. Thank you again, Samuel.

Weekend getaway

Basic

Clean, but very basic. You will need to bring your own things as very minimal supplied. Has a nice little fire and is cosy but very compact really only for two people we had three with one a child. It was too small for us. Car park wasn’t salted or snow cleared and berm of snow to enter properly so was icy and dangerous our whole stay. ( we would have understood if it was just one day that they didn’t get round to clearing it but by day 2/3 that’s not great) might be better in summer months,

We totally understand how you feel about the snow, which becomes thick, packed ice really quickly with guests pulling in and out as they need.
