Beautiful view, home is lacking amenities
We really wanted to love this place, but we had some issues. First, we had a really hard time finding it. Owner was very responsive when I reached out, but it’s not marked at all. The house is very hot (we were there during a heatwave), there is no air con or fans in the house. Owner suggested opening windows and closing blinds - but no air got in and there is a lot of noise from the main road. Couldn’t leave the windows open because the bugs were crazy too. I ended up with heat rash from not being able to get relief from the heat. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, so everyone had to shower before it got dark and brush teeth in the dark. Randomly the toilet would put out a loud alarm - no reason that we could determine. We would flush it again and it was fine. We could not get the front door locked, so we rigged it with a folding chair so we would be woken up if someone broke in. There were exposed light bulbs, and lots of cob webs in the house. Decor is pretty outdated. The view is beautiful, but the drive is about an hour to Geneva, and Geneva traffic is way worse than we anticipated. We only found one small trash bag for our stay, and no bathroom wash cloth. The house was advertised to have a washing machine, we could not find it. Kids loved the pool, however, the hot tub was not maintained (cover was in disrepair). Overall it felt like staying in a hostel (but not at a hostel price). Again, the view is amazing, and owner is responsive, but there are some issues.
