About this property
1907Creekside Cabin w/ hot tub & sauna; bike, hike, ski & fish- Go Back in Time
Savor an unobstructed view of majestic Mount Sopris from the kitchen picture window as you prepare meals in the newly updated retro style kitchen or the outside BBQ in the "barn," a covered ramada. Sip your favorite beverage or enjoy a meal in the outside barn as you relax and enjoy the splendid Mount Sopris view across acres of open fields. Appreciate the added spaciousness of the open lofted master bedroom outfitted with a unique barn wood bed frame and a private outdoor patio beside Thompson Creek. Sink into and relax in the claw-footed bathtub and enjoy the turkish bath towels. Walk across the road to bike the Crystal Valley Trail for breathtaking views of the Crystal River and Mount Sopris; continue on to join the Rio Grande Trail west into Glenwood Springs or east into the Roaring Fork Valley both with awe inspiring views. Drive less than 38 minutes to ski at Aspen, Snowmass, Buttermilk or Sunlight (15 minutes) and return to unwind in the covered salt water hot tub with a view of Mount Sopris. Or sweat and warm up in the sauna! Fish the nearby Frying Pan, Roaring Fork, Crystal or Colorado Rivers. Take pleasure in two separate sitting areas; one in a common area, the other attached to bedroom two overlooking Thompson Creek. Please note that this is a rural property where insects, bugs, critters and cows also live.

About the host

We have five grown children and four grandchildren. We enjoy the quiet solitude this property affords us. Yet appreciate being a quick 10 minute drive into town for all conveniences.
Why they chose this property
We all need a reset at times. This property provides that opportunity; to reset on the property or to reset in the surrounding nature with it's endless available activities. Whether sitting in the yard or hot tub enjoying the wide open space and beautiful view of Mount Sopris, or the amazing stars at nighttime or sitting next to the creek watching the water flow, enjoying the gentle babbling; this property offers a perfect reset. Walking literally across the highway to a paved biking/walking path which extends beside the Crystal River, makes exercise readily available and inviting along with nearby downhill mountain biking paths. Fly fishing is not far away in the Frying Pan, Crystal, Roaring Fork or Colorado Rivers; yet another outdoor activity to experience. The ability to enjoy nearby hikes or hikes along Kebler Pass on the way to Crested Butte or to marvel at the breathtaking beauty of flaming orange and yellow aspens during the fall along Kebler Pass or head over McClure Pass to the wine country in Paonia; these are some of the reasons we love this property. Add in cross country skiing and the proximity to four ski resorts whose turn offs are all less than forty minutes from the property and you have found the perfect place to enjoy every season.
