Amazing
The house was amazing and there's nothing like being able to have a cup of morning coffee while watching the waves come in. The caretakers were fantastic and very helpful to figure out the surf spots. The taco restaurants in Los llanos are a gem.
Secluded and private, safe and luxurious! We had everything we needed for our week stay. Two kids, a grandma and some 50-somethings, we swam in the warm pool, walked on the isolated beach and ate home cooked meals from the estate’s chef. The living areas were clean, many places to nap or watch a movie, AC in all the bedrooms and a kitchen to make snacks if we wanted! A great place for all ages, you never have to leave if you don’t want to. 2 miles from small surfing village where you could do a little shopping or have a meal out. Staff at this house were kind, friendly and made us feel welcome!
Felix (the on-site caretaker) and family were lovely and helpful. The tour of their outdoor kitchen was awesome and they made us feel welcome and safe.
-the kids loved sleeping outside in the loft
-the pool & pool floats were great, even when an Iguana took a dip in our pool (and Felix expertly got him out)
-grounds were well maintained, landscaping was beautiful
-beach was super accessible and surf boards/ boogey boards were super fun
-various lounge areas in the main house were comfy
This was easily one of our best vacations. Two families went together, and we had the most amazing time. Pictures don't do justice. Property is oceanfront, and the home is built overlooking both the pool and ocean. Enough space for our families to hang together, and to each have our own space. The town is a short drive, we all took surf lessons. We also did the additional chef package which I highly recommend. The staff helped coordinate activities like horseback riding and massages. We would ABSOLUTELY return to this home again!!! I still miss it!
The Casa del Surfista is an extremely welcome surprise in the Northern Guerrero beaches, the house commands a 50 meter ocean front with a beach side pool and 4 double rooms and a 5 bedroom “tapanco” over the main common areas that works perfectly for teens and kids.
The staff is a couple, Flora and Serafin, who provide the local flavor to the place, both with Flora’s amazing cooking and their friendly chatter.
We had an amazing time and will surely find the time to repeat this trip in the future.

We are so happy you had an amazing trip. Hope to see you again soon at the house. Xo
This place is awesome ! Right on the beach, good waves in front, great waves 200m down the beach , and world class waves just a 5 min. drive to Saladita. The Cook/Housekeeper is a must with super authentic and fresh Mexican cuisine- There is also a pizza oven. The rooms are comfortable and private, the Palapa is perfect for chilling. Great pool for relaxing as well. This place is very private. Our group never wanted to leave this Paradise.
This property is fantastic, it feels like a piece of paradise in the middle of the nowhere. The main palapa is spacious and has lots of different seating spaces, the pool and lounge chairs are great and the hammock and day beds were in constant use! The bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable, with air conditioning and amenities.
The surf break at La Saladita is about a 5 minute drive away, we had a car and used it to drive our kids to surf lessons there every morning.
Tip: take water shoes! Access to the beach is rocky, water shoes are very useful.

We are so happy to hear that you had a great trip. We hope you and your family can come back again soon!!!!
I can't begin to say how wonderful and honestly magical our stay was. This property is an escape to a private paradise where all your needs are met. There is really no need to even leave. The caretakers/cook Flora and Serafin took care of all 15 of us with personal attention to everyone from 13 year olds to adults. I can't recommend hiring them more. Their attention made the beautiful property beyond relaxing. The listing doesn't even do the property justice. It was spotlessly clean. The accommodations were exactly as described. The beds, linens and towels are comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The beach is private and seems like your own personal slice of heaven. The owner was easy to communicate with and responsive to all questions. I cannot wait to plan the next trip there!
Amazing! Magical property right on the beach. There were 10 of us traveling from all of the US. Each of us were blown away by the beauty of the house, pool and beach front. Everything was so easy and if you needed anything there was always prompt help.
The outdoor sleeping in the open palapa was just an incredible experience! Even the girls that wanted walls loved the outdoor sleeping under the netting!!
if you just wanted to lounge by the pool read a book or have a cocktail or if you wanted to surf or fish everything was easy to get to and navigate. Meals were all delicious and cook made accommodations for people with food restrictions. Everything was homemade! Everyone on the trip had a very special vacation and can’t wait to book again!
I highly recommend this property over others along the beach. As it’s very private but easily accessible.
Everyone is already planning for next years trip!
You will not see a more beautiful sunset anywhere in the world. Each holiday we travel to a new spot to spend time together with our family. Easy to get to from the airport. (Rent a car.) Beautiful architecture and design - simple and extravagant. Landscape design is unbelievable. So much to do. We were in the ocean every day. Right out front surfing, swimming, boogie boarding. Sandy bottom. Walked for miles on the beach. Saw whales, dolphins, sea turtles. Rented boats to fish, surf and rented ATVs. The caretakers, Felix and his family, are the gems of this place. They are attentive and kind and helpful. They can get anything done. We opted for our meals being prepared for us. There is no a better tamale on earth, (chicken, green chili). Fresh fish tacos, tortillas, mole, chile relleno, chilaquiles, fresh tortillas, best food ever. And all made with pride. It is private and safe and lovely. A place to be together. Ten out of ten. A
This open air beachfront house is so magical! Beginning every morning with freshly made coffee while looking at the surf and having a delicious breakfast made by the lovely caretakers is the best way to start the day! Then you can either surf or go for a walk along the beautiful quiet beach or just sit and read alongside the large and very clean pool or have an activity organized for you like yoga or a trip into Troncones for some fun and shopping by Pam's wonderful staff. Come home later for an open-air massage all arranged for you! The prepared food is fresh and fantastic! If, like me you prefer to sleep in an air-conditioned room there are 4 of those on the property - very comfortable beds, nice linens and clean and bright with lovely large bathrooms. The property itself is right on a peaceful stretch of beach with a large grassy area surrounding the home if the kids want to play and lots of gorgeous spots to sit and relax or play board games and have fun with friends and family. The others I was with raved about the surfing to be done right in front of the house! Pam and her staff are very communicative and helpful with any questions you may have about the home, activities, food, airport - anything so you will feel comfortable and happy and at peace in this beautiful getaway!!
Extraordinary amazing place for our family vacation!
Our family of 9 adults and 4 children gathered together at Pam’s beautiful home. The main open air living area looked out over the ocean. So many comfy spots for hanging out! The beach just steps away.
The grounds were beautiful. Grass all around. We played football and baseball catch on the grass. The pool was nice and big and we spent a lot of time swimming. There’s a shallow spot on one end and a shallow edge all along long one side of pool.
My son surfs and the surfing right in front of the house was great for him and our beginning surfers. Body surfing and boogie board surfing was so much fun too.
My husband and I slept up in the loft area under netting and I fell asleep to the roaring ocean every night. Beds were very comfy. The full bathroom in loft was a wonderful plus.
The little casita next to the main house fit my daughter and husband and 3 kids. The side couches were perfect beds for them (ages 10, 8, 7). And I liked how close it was to the main house.
The other 3 bedrooms are just a very short walk from main house. All bedrooms had beautiful bathrooms and showers that felt like you were outside. There was also an outdoor shower near the steps going up to top bedroom.
Beds and linens were extremely comfortable.
Now on to the food! We had all meals served and they were so delicious. Ari was an amazing cook. We choose 8:00, 1:00 and 7:00 for meal times, but Ari is flexible and will do whatever works for your family. Fresh tortillas at every meal. Fresh juices and many different kinds of salsas. Ari offered to have a tortilla making session for the kids (and adults) and that was so much fun. My granddaughter came to love tortillas and asked Ari to make her 5 for the plane ride home!!
Felix and Karen live on the property close to the front gate. Karen did all the daily cleaning of bedrooms and helped Ari in the kitchen. Felix did all the dishes and helped run the house. Felix cut down fresh coconuts for us. Tony also ran the house and scheduled our horseback riding tour one day. He also called 5 masseuses to come to the house.
Pam was very quick to respond to my many questions! I gave her a list of groceries and they were here when we arrived.
Pam’s home was built with much love and thoughtfulness. It was cozy with beautiful views and I hope to return in 2 years with our family.

Thank you Anita for your kind words!! We hope you come back again. It was such a pleasure to have you as our guests.
The property worked perfectly for a friends surf trip to mexico. Palapa accommodated our group of 20 quite comfortable during the day.
One thing of note while they advertise 5 bedrooms one of the rooms is not a bedroom but a daybed outside in the palapa. So only 4 true bedrooms that have 4 walls, a bath room and air conditioning.
We had rented another house so we had to send the guests who were slated for the 5th bedroom to the other house.
Other than that the location is great with no other people around. It’s very remote which was exactly what we wanted. The food was pretty good and very authentic.
Overall it was great for my 50th birthday party.
We are a group of friends who go on an annual surf trip and this is by far the most special vacation rental we have stayed in. Most of your time is spent outdoors because the main structure is the palapa which opens directly to the pool and beach. We were a large group and many of the group slept outdoors in the beds in the palapa and were comfortable. Because it is outdoors you have to coexist with wildlife, including bats (and guano) but the bats keep the bugs away! The weather was perfect, and the sunsets are incredible. There is a beach surf break right in front of the house and it is good for both longboarding and shortboarding. It is also a short car ride away (or 1.5 mile walk) from La Saladita which is an amazing longboarding break with surf rentals.
But by far the best part of the experience is Flora and Serafin, the caretakers who live on the property and put so much thought and care into making the place beautiful and comfortable. You can ask them for help with anything you need (water, toilet paper). And if you choose to have Flora cook for your group, you will be blown away. Flora’s food is fresh and varied and incredibly delicious (down to the homemade tortillas).
You will love it here!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay. It was quiet and chill, just what we needed. Flora and Serafin were just lovely, and so helpful around the property. Food was amazing. Such a pleasure! Pam was accommodating with dates and easy to get in touch with. All in all, it was a great time ❤️

A surfer's paradise!
I have stayed several times at Casa del Surfista. This house is one of my favorite spots in the world! My favorite thing about the house is the indoor/outdoor living aspect. Because of the open air design of the house, I feel like I am outside, enjoying the fresh, warm ocean air the entire time that I am there. I am not a fan of air conditioning (although it's available in the casitas), and I never need air conditioning in the house because the house takes advantage of ocean breezes and fans (when necessary). The whole property feels clean and well maintained. I love the scenic pool that overlooks the ocean for a post-surf dip. Another reason that I love spending a vacation at Casa del Surfista is because it is one of the most relaxing ways to spend a week. The caretakers who are also amazing cooks, do all of my meals. There is nothing better than waking up to a breakfast (and coffee) already cooked and a delicious dinner waiting for me when I get home from surfing. I don't spend endless time searching out restaurants and spending money on food that isn't good. I love to return to the house after surfing and read and relax without worrying about the next meal. On my last visit there was a new addition to the property; the "taco bar." Flora, one of the caretakers, cooks up homemade tortillas and tacos at the open-air taco bar and wood-fired stove. It was delicious! I have been to Casa del Surfista several times with my family and/or large groups. The house is ideal for families or groups. Again, because you have someone to cook and clean for you, all you have to do is enjoy and relax. And there is plenty of room for a lot of people. The hanging bed which overlooks the ocean is a great way to spend an afternoon reading or napping. During my last stay my husband I and slept in the "shark room," which is located in a different building from the main house. It is a beautiful, modern room. In keeping with the rest of the property, the bathroom has an open air aspect. The window in the shower is open and overlooks the expansive jungle area inland from the beach. It feels like showering outdoors, but in a private bath. It's amazing! Lastly, I love that I can choose to surf the long break at La Salitida, or even directly in front of the house where I have the wave all to myself! I really can't say enough about how much I love this house. I just wish I could go more often!

unique, restful, beautiful setting
Location: We flew into ZIH. Renting cars was challenging and frustrating. Pam , the owner helped us out with this. The drive was about 1 hour with the last 20 mins on a very bumpy road. The property and views - gorgeous and - quite private. Maybe due to the time of year the beach was partly sand with rocks making it challenging to walk very far with out good footwear. Right in front of the home was a nice sandbar, so we could walk out and play in the waves or surf. We made trips to Los Llamos , a close town for some provisions, Playa Salidita for surfing, and Troncones. Most of us were happy to hang out right at the Home with the beach and pool.
Home: quite well described previously, very impressive and for almost a week we had 17 people- 9 kids and 8 adults. We all fit well, and had enough areas to enable privacy.
I think it is important to note that the main villa is open air as described, we loved spending the days outside, with the beautiful ocean view. We did have some bugs spiders and bats. I view this a part of the experience of spending so much time outside in the warm climate. If you are looking for a closed off, paved, indoor, or less natural environment - better to stay elsewhere.
The rooms were comfortable and if you wanted the a/c was working - otherwise you can hear the ocean waves . The children slept in the main house without A/C and were very comfortable , it cooled down nicely at night.
Food and organizing details: The owner Pam was efficient and helpful. The family that looked after the house and grounds and food were outstanding. The food absolutely delicious and very fresh. It was a luxury to have Flora and her family buy, prepare and clean up after the meals.
Definite benefit if you know spanish , which I don't, but my beginner spanish improved and I am committed to learning more so I can go back and visit Casa del Surfista.

WE FINISHED OUR HOUSE IN LA SALADITA IN 2009.. WE PICKED THIS AREA BECAUSE OF THE WAVES, THE PEOPLE AND THE BEAUTY OF THE LANDSCAPE. OUR HOUSE TOOK 2 YEARS TO BUILD. ALOT OF THOUGHT AND TIME WENT INTO ALL THE DETAILS OF OUT HOUSE. WE WANTED A VERY ORGANIC STYLE HOUSE WITH A FEELING OF CALM AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE DOOR. THE DOWNSTAIRS IS VERY BRIGHT AND HAPPY. OUR UPSTAIRS LOFT HAS WOODEN FLOORS AND WITH THE PALAPA ROOF IT HAS A JAPANESE ZEN FEELING. JUST RECENTLY WE FINISHED THE MODERN CABINA THAT HAS A VERY MINIMLAIST FEEL TO IT. RECENTLY WE HAVE BEEN GROWING SOME FRUIT TREES, RAISNG CHICKENS AND A FEW OTHER ORGANIC ITEMS AS WE ARE MOVING INTO MORE OF A SMALL ECO RESORT FEELING. FLORA DOES A LOT OF FARM TO TABLE STYLE COOKING. WE ARE SO EXCITED TO HELP HER PURSUE HER LOVE OF MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY THROUGH HER FOOD.
Why they chose this property
LA SALADITA IS A UNIQUE AREA. IT IS WELL KNOW BY SURFERS BUT HAS SO MUCH MORE TO OFFER. IT IS A VERY QUIET AREA NOT OVERBUILT AND EXTREMELEY BEAUTIFUL. THE WEATHER IS VERY CONSISTENT EVEN IN THE WINTER. THE TEMPERATURE IS ALWAYS BETWEEN 80-90 DEGREES. THE WATER IS ALWAYS IN THE 80'S. THE LOCAL PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE AND IF YOU SPEAK SPANISH THEY WILL TALK WITH YOU ALL DAY. THERE ARE ALSO MANY BREAKS TO CHOOSE FROM. TAKE A PANGA TO THE RANCH AND PALO ALTO, SURF SALADITAS OR SURF OUR WAVE INFRONT OF THE HOUSE. THERE ARE WAVES IN TRONCONES AND IXTAPA AS WELL IF YOU WANT TO EXPLORE THE COAST.
What makes this property unique
SURF YOUR OWN PRIVATE BREAK IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE PRIVATE YOGA & PILATES PLATFORM ON THE BEACH OVERLOOKING THE WAVES 1.5 ACRES ON THE BEACH FOR LOTS OF PRIVACY ENDLESS WALKING ON THE BEACH IN ANY DIRECTION PERFECT FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES - SHALLOW END AT THE POOL WITH LOTS OF SHADY AREAS PRIVATE WHITE BEACH UP AT THE POOL AREA
