Regarding the yard, we’re on a regular maintenance schedule, and with Florida’s rapid spring growth, timing can occasionally fall during a guest’s stay. That said, we appreciate you pointing it out and will continue to monitor it closely. We also have not observed ant hills on the property, but we’ll take another look to be sure everything is in top shape. As for the hot water leak, we were not made aware of this during your stay. Had we known, we would have addressed it immediately. Our housekeeping team did catch a minor drip upon your departure, and maintenance repaired it promptly. We are sorry your stay was below your expectations. We are extremely accurate with our description and photos. Our prices are some of the best in the area. No the home is not located downtown or on the beach, but then you also didn't pay those prices to stay. On top of that, we don't charge cleaning fees, unlike most in the area. We are truly sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, albeit that your hand written note in our guest book portrayed a very pleased guest on your part. Your online review is the first we've had from anyone on any platform indicating an issue with bugs, not feeling safe, and criticizing the gentle wear on this 60+ year old home, which is lovingly cared for in all aspects. We have owned the property for 8 years with 6.5 years as a long term rental and the last 18 months as a short term rental; at no point has anyone had issue with the area, which is in-line with the overall area of Pensacola. We do hope you have safe travels to your next destination and that you find a more suitable place for your tastes during your next vacation.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the home’s amenities, shaded backyard, reliable air conditioning, plentiful hot water, televisions, and well-stocked kitchen. We were surprised by several of the concerns mentioned. All mattresses in the home are less than six months old, although we understand that mattress comfort and firmness are subjective. Housekeeping also supplies a brand of the same laundry detergent we use personally, and it appears the detergent provided for this stay was used. Any container later found containing water was not placed there by our housekeeping team. As clearly stated in the listing, shampoo and conditioner are not provided amenities. From time to time, we leave usable toiletries behind when prior guests have left them, simply as an optional courtesy for future guests who may need them. We appreciate the suggestions regarding a larger skillet and plastic bowls and will review those items. We will also ask housekeeping to give particular attention to any dust or sand. For the benefit of future guests, Pineapple House is a pet-free property unless a pet has been specifically approved in advance. An unauthorized dog accompanied this reservation, and beach and fishing equipment were carried through the home during departure, which may have contributed to the sand noted in the review. We remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable home with no separate cleaning fee and appreciate the opportunity to address your comments.
