This charming 2BR cottage in desirable Maushop Village is the ideal home base for your Cape Cod adventure. Hit the links at New Seabury or take a scenic hike through nearby Waquoit Bay. Stroll down the boardwalk to a private beach, just 100 yards away. Enjoy a cookout and watch Cape Cod sunsets on the patio.

The open living area, with vaulted ceilings and skylights, offers a great flow for entertaining. Compose postcards at the writing desk or watch favorite shows on the 32” TV with cable. A sofa offers comfy seating. Prepare your own home-cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen, fully stocked with all the cookware and gadgets you might need, and dine in the sunlit dining area or breakfast bar.

The cottage sleeps up to five guests between the two bedrooms. Sleep soundly on a luxe queen bed in the main bedroom. The guest bedroom is furnished with a twin-over-twin bunk bed with a trundle below. The bathroom is configured with a tub/shower combination.

Barbecue burgers on the gas grill, then enjoy alfresco dining on the patio. Rinse off at the outdoor shower after a fun-filled beach day.

Guest amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and reserved parking.

Maushop Village is perched atop an oceanfront bluff where gentle Cape Cod breezes blow over lush gardens and quaint oyster shell walkways. The sandy private beach (100 yards away) is easily accessible via the boardwalk. Two championship golf courses await at nearby New Seabury (0.6 miles). Shop and rent kayaks or bikes at nearby Popponesset Marketplace (0.6 miles), which also hosts free outdoor concerts and family dances on weekend evenings. Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (three miles) features nearly 3,000 spectacular acres of natural beauty, perfect for hiking, boating, and fishing.

Great location

This cottage is well located and is just a 3 minute walk to a private beach that was never too crowded. The cottage itself is comfortable enough, but could use a little TLC to fix/update a few small items. We’d stay here again but would make sure to bring our own pillows.

Nice little unit with issues

The unit is for a small group very nice. The walk to the beach is short and it is very quite. The small outdoor area is small but hidden. The unit itself needs renovation (holes in the wall covered with duct tape, A/C not working).

Weekend at Ocean Point

The house was great, as pictured and spacious. The location was the best part, a short walk to the private beach (there are stairs to get to the beach). The check in email contained everything we need. The space was clean and stocked with everything we needed. If we head back to the Cape, we will definitely keep this place in mind.

Maushop Village is a beautiful place and the location of this unit is fantastic. However, the place is small and cramped, the beach chairs were all broken, and the furniture and finishings in the unit were dated and mismatched.

Needs some love

We love Maushop village, have stayed at a number of different cottages now, does not get better for a beach community with little kids. Great location, very short walk to either the stairs or the ramp down to the beach. Also it is a standalone unit. This cottage could use some love. Some things were not working, like the outdoor shower or the mini split ac (there were floor units that worked okay for the bedrooms, did not cool main room). Other things like the fridge leaked, and the bathroom had rotted wood. All in all, would probably choose another unit for our next trip to Maushop, but still a good option for a great summer getaway

This property is in horrible shape and the pictures listed are egregiously false. There is tin foil covering holes in the wall, exposed pipes, the mini split has a horrible leak and wasn’t working properly during our stay, holes in the walls and bathroom floor, rust and mold everywhere, the couch was filthy and the rugs were dirty and falling apart. The outside shower is not accessible because of all the junk stacked up, weeds growing out of the roof and damaged shingles. The great location doesn’t compensate for this disgusting property.

Wonderful Escape!

When we booked the vacation, we read the reviews on the house and were concerned by past guests reporting that it wasn't clean. Regardless, we liked the price and that the house was .4 miles from the beach so we decided to take our chance. And boy are we happy we did! The company must have read these reviews and took these VERY seriously! The place was very clean and absolutely adorable (as pictured). We stayed with my husband and two boys (2.5 years old and 7 months) and we were all very comfortable. The house was truly SO close to the water and the cute little Poppy Market place. We felt like we found the most perfect family wonderland and we will be back next summer!

Great Location, clean, but property needs maintenance

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 sons and father to go on a whale watch. Overall it was a good experience. Pros: -extremely clean...floor, bathroom, linens, etc.-fantastic water pressure and heat!-excellent location, 2 minute walk from the beach, very quiet upper class neighborhood-cute plaza 1 mile away with a grocery, restaurants, shopsCons:-This place needs some serious maintenance! There are taped over holes in the walls; lamination is separating on kitchen & bathroom counters; exposed pipes/ducts; exterior paint is peeling; missing a shelf in the fridge door; I mean even the cheap tension shower rod was rusty! -The code system to enter consistently took at least 10 tries each time. Maybe the battery is low?Essentially the place is livable, and most importantly CLEAN! But the owners clearly need to spend a few bucks to maintain the place.

this is a sweet unit in need of some upkeep

the fabric chairs and sofa were dirty and smelled bad. the beds and bedding were clean and comfortable all hard surfaces were clean. TV only showed fox , channels didn’t change. Patio was unusable in the sun due to broken umbrella. overall a bit run down but would be really nice with a refresh and some basic up keep. as is we would not rent again.

This cottage has everything I needed

This is a well equipped cottage, with just enough room for 2-3 people. Only one full bathroom, but two bedrooms. It is "cute". The only issue I had was at night with my windows open for the ocean breeze, there was a smell of skunk EVERY night. I contacted the manager and was told they were looking into it. But I had to live with the smell for 7 very unpleasant nights. Even with windows closed I could smell it. Honestly no one seemed to care enough to look into it.

Know before you go

We were aware that this place was small and were ok with that, But we were not prepared for the condition of the place. The skylights did not close all the way and we were there in November, you had to keep the bathroom door closed to keep the place warm, the floors were dirty nothing in the kitchen was clean (glasses had dried brown at the bottom of glasses, silverware had caked on food, bowls were brown and the dishwasher didn’t work. ) The listing says it has a fully equipped kitchen, and that is huge exaggeration. We left early. We are used to rustic cape but still expected a properly cleaned place and at least one full size pan to make a meal. We were happy about the location, were knew exactly were it was and wanted to be there.

This place should not be available until significant improvements are made.

After reading the reviews in 2021 and noting this property was under new management, we decided to give it a try. It presented exactly like all of the reviews from 2021. I would add our experience was worse than what I read about. After connecting with the property management company, halfway into our stay they came to the property address a few things and issued a full refund. Significant work needs to be done for this to be a viable rental at this price point in Cape Cod. We are not picky - hence why we booked this In the first place. - I thought how bad could it be. The condition of this place was shocking for the price. Positives: location, comfortable beds, wifi. We appreciated Vacasa’s responsiveness although it took several phone calls and was halfway into our stay.

Nothing like being ignored!!!!

I did not enjoy the stay because the first day that i got there i contacted Vacasa about the umbrella on the patio being broken. They sent a representative the next day and assessed the umbrella and said they would contact the owner and see what they could do. I never ever heard from anyone. I even called the day that we left and Vacasa said that we should look out for an email. Well i havent heard from anyone. I have pictures of the unit, the number, the umbrella etc. They will be getting a horrible review with all kinds of pictures and info on every platform available.

Worst place ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hated every minute I was there!! The place is a pig stye and I would tell anyone not to stay in that unit. Most of the windows are broken, the place smells and there are bugs and spiders everywhere. You can’t sit outside because it’s infected with ants and the patio is ridiculous. There’s no air conditioning and for 3 days we didn’t have any television. I could go on and on about how bad unit11 on hammock pond is. The owner let this place run down to shit, I’m surprised that someone doesn’t take care of their property. Too much deceiving on the part of vacasa by saying this is a nice unit and it’s not. The listing says queen size bed and it’s a full bed. I will do everything possible to speak to my attorney to get a refund on the money I spent. Are you people kidding me? Just terrible!!!!!! 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
