The house is very secluded so you must travel at least 20 minutes for anything. The house is nice but could use alittle updating with a few things according to the pictures. Very quiet and beautiful view. During high tide enjoyed time on the deck and during low tide enjoyed time on the beach..Our kids loved it..Saw lots of turtles and horseshoe crabs..
loved the peacefulness
even though it was cold and windy we still took walks on the sand and the road
only a few other people were there but they were friendly and would wave
The dog beds were dirty and hairy however we did bring our own dog beds I just wanted you to know it wasn't our dogs
other than that everything was great!
This is a super cute house right on the beach! It is in the middle of nowhere so it’s very isolated but that was perfect for our family!! We had the whole beach to ourselves most of the time!! Stock up on what you need before you get to the house because it’s a bit of a distance to stores and/or restaurants.
Steven was such a wonderful host. Very quick to respond to any question I had and very helpful. Very secluded location. No fault of owner but we had to drive 30 minutes for groceries because I only brought one me. (Thought door dash would be a solution). The fire pit at night was so enjoyable. We played games that host supplied and just relaxed! Nice friendly locals too. House was very accommodating! Enjoyed our vacation on the water.
The bay view was spectacular, high tide comes up under the house and the waves crash and the sounds are soothing. Fishing isn’t good as too there too and many crabs. Outside wicket Furnitire was deteriorating and we didn’t sit on the wicker too much as we felt it would break as it was peeling. Upstairs balcony was awesome. There’s no washer / dryer. Had to take the garage to a dumpster as theirs no pick up. Remnants of Sandy are still noticeable in the area. You’ll need to drive upwards of 30 mins to get food or other supplies. The beach is really small and really can’t do much as it’s filled with pebbles and can only go on it at low tides. Owner sent an email message the day or two before asking us to tell showers outside as this is free water ? We didn’t pay to take showers outside. Renter be aware. It’s very secluded and quiet.

All of this is stated in the initial message sent to you regarding the trash. The listing does not state that we have a washer/dryer so that should not have been a surprise. At no point did I ask you to use the outdoor shower instead of the bathroom showers inside. We have no reason to ask that of any guests and never would. The beach at low tide is upwards of 50ft depending on the tide and type of moon on the given day. The outdoor furniture was used by the guests as you can clearly see in the photos they posted on the review.
We stayed at Steven’s lovely property. The location was just amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the bay view and the fact we could bring our small dogs. The deck was beautiful and we loved watching the sunsets.
There are numerous amounts of flies. We were not sure where they were coming from but they really liked the kitchen area. The host has left little bug machines but they didn’t really have any effect. We ended up buying some fly traps but they also were not super effective.
When we arrived there was a used plastic cup and an empty plastic bottle on the patio. There was also a huge chunk of glass upstairs on the floor of one of the bedrooms. There is a fire pit on the deck that is different from the photos and we didn’t end up using it bc we wouldn’t get it to light.
We didn’t reach out to the host about these things as they did not make or break our trip.
Like I titled this review, we had an overall great time, so I gave my stay 4 stars.
We had a very nice couple of days. Weather and scenery were spectacular. The only issue. The house wasn't clean as expected. Floors, Refrigerator and dinnerware weren't clean. TV in upstairs bdrm, only the picture worked. Ceiling fan upstairs, no control fir it. There were 8 tank's of propane & all were empty. Had to run to the nit so close store to refill
Outside grill was disgusting, had to clean. The cleaning company for this property needs to be replaced. All of the issues, should be checked before next tenants. And we paid a cleaning fee that I feel should be refunded, as we took care if the ussues.
I've lived in NJ for over 30 years and did not realize this place existed but am glad i discovered it . The view is spectacular and the outside amenities were fabulous . You have your own private beach , or you can fish , or go crabbing , or just sit back and relax . The house was very accommodating with plenty of room to cook and have a meal , or watch TV with family , but the outside was the place to be . We even caught the recent Space X launch with a clear view from the deck out back . Overall everyone had a great time and agreed that this was one of our best rentals yet !
The location of this property is fantastic. It is remote and in a quiet secluded area and right on the water. We went mid week and April so there were no neighbors around and we had the whole beach to ourselves and our dogs. We loved that we could all hang out on the enclosed deck or the balcony. The house was clean and comfortable. Overall an amazing place to relax and enjoy the breeze and the waves or walk the beach.
