This cottage is on a hillside with spectacular views. The owners are very detailed & creative which is on display the minute you walk in the door. My wife & I have been coming here for the last 18 years & it never disappoints!
There is no greater peaceful and relaxing place than staying at the Artist Vineyard Cottage. We have returned to this glorious property time and time again, and we always feel that we return to our home away from home. I love to create meals at the cottage to maximize our time with wonderful views of the mountains and trees around us. We are equally close to the wineries of Paso and the coast. We visited Big Sur and the Hearst Castle along highway one as well. As always, we cannot wait to return and to experience this awesome cottage once again. Thank you Lisa and Randy for providing this cottage to us and to others.

You two are the BEST! The cottage now has a new roof, which went off without a hitch. You'll see some new "relaxation surprises"
outside at your next visit. We'll see you in the fall. R & L
The cottage is always a peaceful getaway. It’s cozy and relaxing with a beautiful view, and the beds are perfect! Good wildlife viewing as well. You can go exploring, but staying in is just as good if you need to recharge. Lisa is a wonderful host!
One of the most spectacular places I have ever stayed. And I have stayed in many VRBO locations. At first I was intimidated because I was having car problems and eventually my battery died so I had to call Aaa to come help me which they did and restored my battery after that. Everything was spectacular. I visited many places my husband and I had visited before he passed, so this was my celebration tour of his life. I could not have been more pleased with everything about the property and once I understood my orientation of the area I absolutely loved the location. I would stay here again over and over and over.
Yes, house turnkey and all amenities top-notch.Perfect for our purpose - close to Cambria and Paso Robles. Great wineries, restaurants, shopping, beach, hiking.

We were very impressed by how well organized everything was. The place is beautiful. It's a little off the beaten path, as you may end up driving 10 miles in any direction to visit sites, but that worked out quite nicely for us.The check-in and checkout process was very easy.
Great hideaway in wine country and a comfy, cozy cottage
I was very impressed and would love to come stay again if had the opportunity. Beautiful views of the country.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Manager
Randy and Lisa Stromsoe. We are lifetime career, working artist professionals. Randy is one of the last traditionally trained silversmiths in America. www.randystromsoe.com Working in our studio, surfing, gardening, ping pong, basketball, music and art. That is what you'll find us doing everyday. Oh, and cleaning and maintaining the cottage!!
Why they chose this property
We purchased this acreage (26) in 1999 with nothing but one framed out two story barn standing alone and a rickety old cabin on the hill. We own both sides of Old Creek Road. "Our" side is 10 acres with our home studio (used to be the barn) and "Your" side is the remaining acreage with a vineyard and our guest cottage.
What makes this property unique
THEEEEE PERFECT LOCATION! You'll have complete privacy, your own land and road and gate at the beginning and end of the road that goes up to the cottage. Adjacent to our property is the LAND CONSERVANCY / Santa Rita Ranch which creates a corridor for wildlife to travel through this mountain range, the Santa Lucia's. Our location 1/2 way between the Pacific Ocean and Paso Robles downtown brings in a coastal influence which typically keeps our weather temperate. Having us live right across the road makes it handy if you need anything during your stay. It's a blink of an eye (under 5 minutes) to VINEYARD DRIVE and some of the most amazing "west side" wineries. Trader Joe's is 11 minutes away. If you head down Old Creek Road 15 minutes max, you'll hit the coast and if you turn right you are in Cayucos (Ruddell's smoked fish tacos) and to the left - Morro Bay for fresh fish (restaurant and fish market) at Dockside II on the wharf.
