Tin Mill Cottage is located just off Old Hill City Road on a quiet wooded lot. Enjoy your coffee in the morning or evening gatherings on the deck or covered gazebo sitting area facing the woods. Deer and turkey are common visitors to the yard and adjacent wooded lot! Tin Mill Cottage is conveniently located on a hillside overlooking the route of the 1880 Train as it chugs up Tin Mill Hill towards Keystone and is a short walk to the downtown area. Tin Mill Cottage is just a short walk to nearby Major Lake for fishing.
This cottage has become a favorite cabin for families seeking an affordable stay in the Black Hills. It has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a queen portable folding (firm) mattress (recommended for children only) to accommodate 6. NO MORE than 4 adults and two children. It has an electric fireplace in the living room. There is one bathroom with tub and shower, laundry, AC wall units, SMART TV is ready for your own streaming package with your personal user codes. Cable TV is provided as well as free, high speed WIFI. The fully furnished kitchen (with dishwasher) and gas grill on the deck helps keep your vacation affordable by allowing meals to be made 'at home'. However, there are many nearby restaurants for those who are 'truly on vacation'!
A car port affords shaded parking for two vehicles.
NO PETS, NO SMOKING.

The cottage was perfect. Exactly as described and pictured. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes. The living room was comfortable and plenty of light to read or crochet. The location was close to many of the things we wanted to see. I'd definitely recommend this place. The host communicated with me several times before our arrival with helpful information. She was quick to respond to questions as well. Overall this was a great vacation. 10 plus stars!!!

Perfect for 3 guys enjoying bike week on the quieter side of life. Excellent house to stay. 2 queen beds and we brought a blow up mattress for #3. The cottage was very nice and quiet. The back porch was nice to relax and watch the sunset. Great location to get to all the sites. Don't miss the Needles Highway scenic drive. The granite spires are awesome! We would stay again if back in the area.

This Property is truly on the Heart of the Hills! We absolutely loved this place! The house was very clean and well kept. We didn't use the fire table nor the grill, but it was great that we had those options. The bed was very comfortable and we got great sleeps after long days of hiking and exploring. Super easy access and parking, but you are really off the main road. It's literally within walking distance of the 1880 train depot and downtown Hill City with fantastic food. I recommend the Alpine for the best filet mignon you'll ever have! We appreciated the two coffee options (Keurig and drip). Let's mention the wonderful host! Marcia was outstanding in communication by text and very responsive. I also appreciated the info she left at the property highlighting area food and road conditions. The full size laundry units were a great convenience. The couches were comfy. The view is great. Lots of deer! I highly recommend this centralized location that puts you just minutes from some of the area's best attractions!

I appreciated Marcia’s communications with me from the time I booked the cottage until we left. The cottage had everything we needed from dish soap to paper products. This location is excellent. Each day we explored a different location to see all we wanted. :Devil’s Tower, Spearfish water falls, Deadwood, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, & 1880 Railroad in Hill City.
