About this property
Gorgeous Getaway - Douglas Lake - Smoky Mountains view - Private Boat Dock
Gorgeous and private 5 bedroom home right on the main channel of Douglas Lake overlooking the Smoky Mountains with sunset views (weather permitting)!! This stunning property is an escape from the hustle and bustle, tucked away on the Lake in the quiet community of Baneberry, TN. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and Knoxville are all ~1 hour away and an easy trip to enjoy shopping, hiking, dinner and tourist activities as well as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Or you can simply stay local and enjoy the Lake views and swimming, kayaking, fishing and more right off the dock. Multiple marinas offer water sports nearby as well.
Grocery stores are ~10 min in either direction and Morristown is about 15 min by car where there's a Mall, restaurants, Walmart, etc. We have had good luck with Instacart being available in the area in as well.
Note: Douglas Lake is a flood storage reservoir. They lower the lake level starting in the fall to prepare for winter/spring rains and raise it again at end of Spring through the Summer months. Water sports and dock typically available only from June through Labor Day. It’s still beautiful with Lake and Mountain views and to enjoy Fall colors and nearby Parks!

We really enjoyed the easy access to the lake as we brought our boat with us. We left it at the dock all week and were able to come and go as we please. The kitchen is well stocked as we ate all our meals there. We had a wonderful time.
Host was very easy to work with. The house was lovely and plenty of room for our family of 10. Very well stocked with everything you need to have good family fun. Beautiful views from the deck. We enjoyed activities outside the home as well, in nearby Pigeon Forge.
This was the second time our family of ten stayed at this beautiful and well appointed house and property. Jennifer, our host, lets her guests use the four kayaks, three paddle boards, and numerous floats which our grandchildren enjoy. The covered dock is perfect for a pontoon boat. There are even plenty of beach towels too. The kitchen is well stocked and she provides large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. The sunsets are amazing! We can’t say enough about our experience here on Douglas Lake at “Gorgeous Getaway”.Bob
We were very pleased with the home, it was well stocked with everything a family needed for cooking, laundry, and water activities. The view from the deck was so beautiful. My grandkids loved it and want to come back!
You couldn't ask for a better view. The house is awesome, clean, well stocked with everything including beach towels. Also, all the lake toys you could want including Kayaks and Paddle Boards.
What a nice place! We really enjoyed it. I also loved that they had kayaks, paddle boards, and more for us. We'll stay at this property again!
Thank you,
Jody
Check in was quick and easy. I accidentally locked the keyless entry with the wrong code and the host had it reset in less than 2 minutes. The double oven was a nice feature! There was plenty of room for the kids to spread out downstairs and the adults were comfortable relaxing upstairs. The beds were so comfortable, linens provided were great. The lake views and sunsets were indescribably beautiful. We would absolutely stay here again!
The views are amazing. House was nice and had plenty of space for our group. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and the lake was choppy and not accessible for most of our stay.
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, with great access to Douglas lake which is fabulous. Lake was never crowded and we rented a boat fromH2O, and they were super accommodating. Many extras were provided at the house, we loved the ping pong table. The house is about an hour from Dollywood, which is a great place for all to have fun. Wonderful place, had a great time.
Let’s start with the host Jennifer. She was fantastic with quick responses on questions from booking until departure. The house is Gorgeous and had plenty of room for 7 of us. Stunning views of the lake, mountains, and sunsets. Would definitely rent again. Summer would be fun!
Wonderful time with extended family. The kids loved jumping and swimming near the dock. They had kayaks, life jackets and floaters. We rented a boat and tube one day which was a lot of fun.
We had planned to do some day trips but we were happy just hanging at the house and skipped the day trips.
The house was gorgeous with a stunning view of the lake. The owner kept in close contact to ensure we didn’t have questions or needs. Many odds and ends were supplied by the owner such as toiletry items and basic baking items such as cooking spray and seasonings.
Toys to use on the lake were plentiful and in great condition. Without hesitation I can suggest this spot for anyone looking for an amazing get away for just your family or a group of families!
We all had a great time. The bedroom situation was perfect for three families. Grandparents in the master; son in the Queen and two grandkids across the hall. They all had their own bathroom. Next family in the basement, parents and two kids, their own space and own bathroom, kitchen area, etc. Very good plan.
Perfect for our multigenerational family vacation.
This house could not have been more perfect for our family vacation (teens, 40’s, 60’s). It was stocked with everything from beach towels to spices to kayaks. There was nothing we needed that was not provided. The dock housed our pontoon boat beautifully. What a treat to have our boat docked right outside our house!! When our teens got restless of lake fun, gatlinburg/ pigeon forge was an easy 1 hourish drive away. There are also grocery stores and pizza shops not too far. If we ever find ourselves looking for a similar set up, I would definitely book this lovely house again.

Our family had an incredible time at this house on the lake!
Finding this gem was such a blessing! Jennifer took such good care of us and was quick to respond to any questions we had! We highly recommend staying here!
Spent a week with my family (7 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 infants). The house is beautiful and has everything you need! The lower level was great for the toddlers to play. The view of the lake and the mountains from the deck is amazing, and the sunsets were gorgeous. The lower deck was covered, and provided much needed shade for most of the afternoon. The lake in this area wasn't busy at all, even over the 4th of July. The covered dock was perfect for my boat. With traffic, it is about an hour to Pigeon Forge. The owner of the property was very quick to respond with any questions. We had a great week! I would highly recommend this rental!
Gave 5 stars but two small problems. Fireplace hearth was raised about 3 inches off the floor. This caused me to trip and about break my toe. Had to put blankets down on each end to prevent small children from falling. Also no gate guard on steps to downstairs (had to lay down some furniture to prevent children from going down)

Thanks for your 5-star review. Regret to hear these points now! Unfortunately we don’t offer child proofing or baby gates for stairs on the property - including to lower level, exterior deck and even steps to the lake. Hearth is raised as shown in pictures! Glad to hear nevertheless that you were happy, found our place beautiful and as I understand from our exchanges, had a first class stay.
The name of the house, "Gorgeous Getaway", sums up this house. Not only was the house gorgeous, but so was the property, dock, and new deck and furniture. Inside were many amenities such as a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as pump hand soap in each bathroom and in the kitchen, plenty of extra paper towels, trash bags, and dishwasher soap. This hasn't been the case at some properties we have stayed at. Our host, Jennifer, was very responsive whenever we had questions, both before and during our stay. She provided beach towels for our use as well as water floats, life jackets, paddle boards, and kayaks. All of this made for a fun time, especially for our grandchildren. We even rented a pontoon boat, and the dock was perfect for that. Everything about the house/property was high end. The rec room downstairs with the ping pong table was an extra bonus.
We highly recommend this house and would love to return next year!
We had the most amazing stay at this property! The views can't be beat as you get the mountains and the lake all at once! We were treated with a fireworks show as it was the Saturday after the 4th of July. We had a perfect view from the upper deck and it was amazing! We had ages from 2-60 and everyone had a great time! The home was so clean and had all the extras you could need! It was the most well equiped home we'vej ever stayed in. We loved all the water toys and used the kayaks, paddle boards, floaties, etc. We also used the fishing equipment and caught so many fish off the dock! I caught a total of 31 fish, one right after the other - bluegill, sunfish, catfish and bass. It was so much fun! We made most of the meals at the home as the kitchen is stocked so well with seasonings and cooking utensils. We rented a pontoon boat from H2O Water Sports and they were wonderful to work with. The communication with Jennifer was amazing! She was quick to respond before and during our stay. We also enjoyed the firepit for making s'mores each night. It's about an hour drive to Pigeon Forge, so we were able to take a day trip to that area very easily. We really enjoyed floating at the end of the dock enjoying the views. The sunsets were simply breathtaking! I can't say enough about how great this rental is. I hiighly recommend it and can't wait to return!
