Enjoy a Finger Lakes vacation rental on Canandaigua Lake. Located on West Lake Road, 6 miles from the town of Canandaigua, WEST LAKE COTTAGES is a 3 cottage, 3 bedroom, 3 bath waterfront property which sleeps up to 7 people. The main bungalow cottage has a complete
kitchen, laundry room, great room with fireplace, and a screen porch at each cottage!

Enjoy the great water of Canandaigua lake, and a warm and inviting cottages! Each cottage has a screen porch, stall, shower bathroom and closet.

The North cottage has a king bed. The main cottage has a queen pullout, and the main cottage bedroom has a full bed. The south cottage has a queen bed.

And enjoy jumping off a 32'dock in the fresh water of the lake. There is a patio with outdoor BBQ, a 20' x 40' deck above the boathouse, and the charm of vacationing on the lake.

Just what the doctor ordered! A perfect escape to remember your roots and stay connected with family. Bruce is a perfect host, very accommodating and responsive. We would definitely rent here again.

Perfect lake cottage

Wonderful setup for our group. Rustic and charming cottages which are exactly what a relaxed lake trip should be. Our teenagers enjoyed having their own cabins. Lots of different outdoor spots for everyone to hang out. Great waterfront and the boathouse roof deck is amazing. Bruce is a terrific host. Looking forward to coming back another time.

Good lake living

Had a nice stay at the cottages. They are just as pictures show. Well stocked kitchen.The 3 separate buildings worked great giving all of us some privacy. Great location on the lake and the deck over boathouse is huge with plenty of seating.

Special time with family

This is the third time we have stayed at this location to celebrate my father's birthday, 97 this year! It is well run, roomy, beautiful views and the cottages are lakeside and wonderful. Communication with the property manager is easy and respectful. We plan to come again next year.

Relaxing Days on Canandaigua Lake

Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed a 3 day trip to this property. The laid back atmosphere and 3 cabin layout was perfect for us. We spent our days on the deck and in the lake while enjoying the privacy of our own space for sleeping. We rented a boat one day and had a blast. Bruce was super easy to work with and answered any questions we had almost immediately. We would definitely come back to this spot in the future!

Great spot.

We really enjoyed this property. Loved the location and the setup. Wished the inside fireplace was working. (We were notified before our rental so it was not a surprise). When we stayed there were only three actual beds. The description on Vrbo said four beds so were left one bed short based on what was listed on line. However overall we really enjoyed the outside fire pit and screened porches and great water views from the entire rental. Rustic but just the type of place we wanted. Overall great stay.

Beautiful view of the lake!

Our family was delighted with the location and accommodations for our stay on Canandaigua Lake. Bruce answered all of our questions before we arrived and was available during our stay as well. We liked how there were 3 cottages with so many private sitting areas tucked away. The view couldn’t be beat. We would love to come back!

Great getaway in the Finger Lakes

We had a wonderful long Memorial Day weekend getaway at this property. The location right on the lake is perfect and puts you in easy distance of several great wineries and breweries. The three individual cottages worked out great for our party (including dogs), giving the trip a camping feel, but with many more comforts than camping. The cabins were well stocked with necessities and we enjoyed cooking out by the lake and spending time on the expansive deck atop the boat house. Bruce was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We are already talking about a return trip in the near future.

Perfectly pleasant

This was a perfect location for our family to gather and relax for a week. We took advantage of the three separate houses plus all the great outdoor space. Our family members paddled from the docks, biked along the lake, ran/hiked at Onanda Park, less than a mile south. The house was well-stocked, but Bruce was on call if we needed anything additional. Excellent property!

Perfect stay in NY get away during COVID

This was the perfect set-up 2 families including 5 teens & a dog we all had plenty of space - house was equipped with so many accessories we weren’t lacking for anything needed. We brought a boat & kayaks & many floats so the days were busy. We would tie up to the dock and spend the days just floating in the lake. The tv was never turned on we just relaxed and enjoyed the glamping accommodations. Bruce (owner) was always quick to respond to questions - the week we were there the weather was perfect 100% sunshine all 7 days! Definitely would recommend this for others -

Old School Camp Cabins

Great cabin feel with sunrise views. Fishers paradise. Warm, clear waters for swimming (bring water shoes for sharp zebra mussels). Divas may not appreciate the spiders around deck but it's camp like and the deck is a major part of the beauty: you are literally over the water. Has shade. Landlord lives part time across the street, is helpful. Great place for family vacation without Disney-style chaos. Relaxation is it's vibe. Recommend a boat rental. Would easily return.

Unique property on a beautiful stretch of lake

My family really enjoyed themselves here. This is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. There is not a gradual beach, so it’s important to know that water access is via the shared dock ladder or climbing down from the retaining wall. This was no issue for us, as we had a pretty spry group, but worth mentioning. I recommend bringing water shoes. We all brought floats and spent hours enjoying the lake. Our pups loved it! The three cabin layout was perfect for us. It was nice for everyone to have their own separate spaces to shower and sleep. It’s unique to find waterfront property like this. The spaces between the cabins create a nice variety of seating areas that offer a bit of privacy (a rare find on any waterfront!). Also worth mentioning that the neighbors were really cool, and never made us feel unwelcome. The structure has a classic cabin feel. It’s “camp like” as the description mentions, so if you’re a persnickety bunch, maybe it isn’t for you. For us, it was very comfortable. We loved sitting on the screened in porch with a cup of coffee and playing games on the large deck. Even on our one rainy day, we entertained ourselves with the board games Bruce has there. He keeps the place pretty well stocked just in case you forget something. Bruce was staying nearby, and was just a phone call away if we needed anything. A very kind and attentive host.

Unique and Perfect

Wonderful property. A nice array of areas to sit and relax with a group or to find some quiet time. Huge deck over water. Outstanding view from fire pit with just the right amount of elevation to not make the stairs too burdensome. Having the 3 separate cabins was a major plus. They are rustic, clean and comfortable; perfect for lake living. Individual AC units worked well. Boat House was a highlight of convenience for our 20 ft deckboat. Large waterfront. Owner is very friendly and easy to work with. Parking is tight but manageable.

West Lake cottages is located in the beautiful finger lakes region of NY state, not far from where I grew up in Rochester. The fresh water lake of Canandaigua lake is tranquil and the scenery beautiful. The idyllic surroundings make for a relaxing vacation.

What makes this property unique

Close to the water, cabins are very camp like in that you have individual housing with bathrooms, and closets and beds, and you can meet on the patio, the 40 ft x 20 ft boat house deck ,or in the main bungalow for meals.

The screened in porches provide wonderful views and breezes without the bugs of the lake.

Enjoy the water of menteith cove from the 138' feet of waterfront, and build a fire for your S'mores in the built in Firepit with a view of the lake!
