Sunrise Forest is a peaceful retreat for family vacations, romantic getaways, special occasions or simply a place to chill. Guests have access to the entire house, 1,400 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and loft with 2 twin beds. The great room is the place to relax & recharge with a wood burning fireplace and a 55” curve smart tv. It is the ideal spot for nature lovers with 35 acres of abundant wildlife, walking trails and is pet friendly. Outdoor fire pit with 9 Adirondack chairs, swing set for the kids & 6-person hot tub overlooking a scenic ravine. The property is adjacent to Wayne National Forest with immediate access to explore 275 acres. The Wi-Fi service was upgraded on1/1/22, average speeds of 25 Mbps to 40 Mbps, the improved Wi-Fi service provides the ability to stream HD videos or conduct a video call. An exterior Wi-Fi extender has been installed to provide Wi-Fi service outside of the cabin.
Although this property is remote, it is located off a main state route and is approximately a 15 to 30 minute drive to 7 of Hocking Hills "Premier" state parks. The quaint town of Logan is 10 miles from the cabin which has many seasonal attractions and dining options or the historic college town of Ohio University in Athens is only 17 miles from the cabin. The classic Appalachian town of Nelsonville, with endless discoveries, is only 8 miles away.

Teachers Short Spring Break!

We were all looking for just some quiet time to relax and recharge, and this place was perfect for us. The property was lovely both inside and out. We were able to rest, watch some of March Madness, enjoy the hot tub and and just 'be'. It was the perfect place.

Sunrise Forest is a beautiful, immaculate, spacious rental!! It is such a well-cared for home on a gorgeous piece of property. We loved the privacy, the peacefulness of the woods, and all of the detailed, personal touches that made our stay extra special. Lovely weekend

This is a really lovely, well-appointed property right off 56. Angie really thought of everything, right down to fire wood. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans and dishes and it was spacious and really lovely. This was a great pick at a really reasonable price.

Perfect for our reunion of friends

Close friends, 7 of us, reunited for the weekend and this house was absolutely ideal for us. It was secluded and quiet, but easy to find. Parking and check-in/out were simple. It was clean and just an impressive house, in general. It was exactly the type of environment needed for us to get away, reconnect, and forget about the real world - but also have our own spaces. Highly recommend!

We stay in Hocking Hills every fall and we have never stayed at the same place twice. Well, that may change now that we have been to Sunrise Forest. Our family agreed it was the best place we have ever stayed in Hocking Hills! The grounds around the home are beautiful, the house is so clean and well appointed and had plenty of room for our family. Even with rain it was a lovely weekend hanging out and playing games in this cozy home. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at Sunrise Forest!

Very nice place

Everything was very nice. Great location! Very private. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Internet connection was very limited. Kind of frustrating but understandable. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would have been nice to use the outdoor property more if it was warmer. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely get-away!

As a family, we most enjoyed the family room with plenty of comfortable, attractive furniture for nine people (2 were daily visitors who live in the area). The family room includes the kitchen and dining area so everyone could participate in conversations. The many windows in the cathedral-ceiling family room brought beautiful light and added to the ambiance of the house. The lighting around the fire ring made the space look magical at night. Thank you for all the little touches. We are likely to come back again!

Lovely wooded retreat

I rented this house for a long weekend getaway for immediate family and a close friend. The house had plenty of room for 5 adults and a tween. Everything was very clean and well kept. The kitchen has appropriate amount of table service for the number of potential guests, as well as a decent selection of cookware and prep utensils. We all were comfortable eating and playing games around the large table. Beds were all comfortable and plenty of linens for cool nights. We enjoyed the trails through the property. My only wish is for at least a hose outside to wash my dog's muddy paws off after hiking. There are several creeks/muddy areas on the trails around the house - impossible for him to not get dirty while out walking. Overall it was a great place to stay with a decent size group. We would stay again!

Quick get-away with a puppy

We were so glad that we were able to book a last minute weekend get-away with a puppy! We had an amazing time hiking at the Hocking Hills State Park while we stayed. We played board games and enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The kitchen had a nice array of utensils and general stock of everyday plates, bowls, cooking trays, appliances, etc. I would recommend bringing your own measuring cups, teaspoons, and tablespoons. This cabin was missing a few that we needed. We ended up eyeballing the missing measurements and converted tablespoons to teaspoons. If you have a puppy or dog (or even young children) that loves sticks, I’d recommend bringing a baby gate to easily block off the indoor wood supply by the fireplace. I’d highly recommend this cabin for any family! If we ever decide to stay near hocking hills again, we’ll look at this property first!

Having been a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio I have always enjoyed getting away from the ‘big city life’ to enjoy one of the most scenic parts of Ohio. This cabin is located approximately 1 hour southeast of Columbus, Ohio. Sunrise Forest sits on 35 acres in Hocking County. Our family owns adjacent properties which allows us to enjoy family, friends and the great outdoors. The property line at Sunrise Forest is adjacent to Wayne National Forest which provides additional tranquility and privacy.

What makes this property unique

Although this property is remote, it’s approximately a 15 to 30 minute drive to 7 of Hocking Hills "premier" state parks along with many other seasonal attractions and dining options. (Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man’s Cave, Conkle’s Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Rocks House & Whispering Cave)
