This place was perfect for a getaway! Beautiful property and grounds. Location wise, it's nice and close to a lot of the best trails.I typically have a major aversion to well water so we brought bottled water to drink, but I ended up filling from the tap 90% of the time we were there and the water tasted absolutely fine! A few heads up, the driveway is pretty steep, if it's going to be wet during your stay, I would definitely recommend 4 wheel drive. Also, both bathrooms are located through the bedrooms. It wasn't an issue for us, but I could see people wanting to know that information before booking.

We love hearing the well water passed the taste test! We appreciate the helpful heads-up for future guests about the driveway in wet conditions (we have a Honda Fit that gets up/down without trouble except for when there's ice or it hasn't been plowed) and the bathroom layout. This cabin is in a great location! It’s close to family friendly hikes, and private with no sight lines of any other houses, but you do still have neighbors close by. Dan made check in a breeze and the house was very clean. We found some stink bugs, but as bugs go those are not a big deal. My family especially loved that Nintendo emulator. The dishwasher is a great amenity that many comparable cabins do not have. The bonfire area was really nice, but my husband and I agreed that moving it to the backyard would allow for a magical sunset scene. We wished the cabin had screens in the windows so we could open the windows, especially for the loft sleeping area. Since we couldn’t open the window up there (because there was no screen), it made the fireplace unusable in the evenings because it was making the loft too hot to sleep in safely. The kitchen would benefit from a rack for food. We only stayed for a weekend and the limited counter space was cluttered with the food we brought. I imagine if you were staying for a week, this would become a bigger challenge. The bathrooms were very clean and utterly capacious! Plenty of towels for the whole family, and pool towels by the basement back door for the hot tub. The hot tub was also clean, hot and worked well. Overall, we all agreed that we would be delighted to come back to stay here again next fall!

The cabin was very spacious and relaxing…..from being able to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise to being able to enjoy sitting around the fire pit in the evening. It really does allow you to disconnect and just enjoy yourself. Our phones didn’t work which kept everyone present in the moment and when we needed to connect outside we were able to connect to the WiFi and everything worked fine. We were able to get to hocking hills park in less than 15 minutes and our hosts were very very very responsive. They helped us prepare for the trip and with this being our first time traveling to hocking hills and made sure everything was in order for us before check in and made sure we were good during our stay…we have already begun preparing for another trip up there

This is a very nice property. The main downfall was the fourth bedroom in the basement has no window and a small uncomfortable bed that squeaks every time you move, with flat pillows and thin blankets.

Great cabin. We stayed here in a couple of chilly days in March and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. We appreciated the cleanliness of the inside and the lovely setting outside. The host was very responsive and helpful. This is a great location for hiking during the day and relaxing in the evening.

The Madison was the perfect home away fromhome during our hiking adventure in Hocking Hills. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the surroundings were serene. The small touches Dan and Casey added made the stay all the more enjoyable, like towels for the hot tub, games for the kids, and roasting sticks for the fire. We would love to stay again!

Had a fantastic spring break getaway with our 3 teenagers. Cabin was clean and spacious, hot tub was perfect after our days of hiking. We always enjoy Grandma Faye’s store a few miles away for any necessary groceries or ice cream. My husband and I visited Le Petit Chevalier winery, loved it so much we went back the next night. Dan was an extremely communicative and helpful host, from booking to check out. Definitely worth every penny, 10/10!

The cabin was awesome! Beautiful setting both inside and out. Dan (the host) was extremely attentive to our needs! We had two minor issues, and he worked to get them both resolved very quickly. And the maintenance tech, James, was also very responsive. I cannot praise them enough!!

Perfect Getaway
