The property is lovely and so well cared for. It is clean and has everything you need. the furnishings and decor from the time period makes it feel like you’ve gone back in time but you still have the modern conveniences. We loved staying here. So close to all the attractions and Old Nauvoo.
This was the perfect place to enjoy the church history in Nauvoo. The location was great and staying in a pioneer home added a lot to our experience. Knowing a little about the background of the family living here during that time was enriching. Great communication with the owners. Thanks for letting us stay in your home. Highly recommend staying here if in Nauvoo for church history. We would stay here again in the future.
Staying in an authentic pioneer house just added to the experience of being in Nauvoo.the home was conviently located, well equipped, and clean. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time in this historic home! One of the most important things to me is the cleanliness of a home and this Rufus Abbott Manor was very clean! We felt comfortable and at home. The climate in the home was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The water pressure was great. The location of this home to Nauvoo is perfect. It was about a mile from the temple. It had great surroundings for going for those morning walks. It had beautiful views of the sunrise. The hostess had great communication with us leading up to the trip.
This was a really nice home to stay in - close to Historic Nauvoo, updated and clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, cool AC for the summer. We would definitely stay there again!
Perfect place to stay when visiting historic Nauvoo. Two of the rooms are up steep stairs. So make sure your group is capable of that. Lovely property. Would definitely stay again when we come back.
We had a fabulous time staying in the historic Rufus Abbott home. Great communication with the host! It was like going back in time with the decor and treasures displayed

Thank you, Laura! We are grateful for your recommendation and are happy to hear that your stay was comfortable and your needs were met. Hope to have you again!
What a sweet stay! It was very cute. The ac was nice. There is some wildlife that is fun to watch play in the yard. We liked the big windows and lacy curtains. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very functional. Everything was really tidy. We liked all the room spaces that made the house feel large. It felt like we were part of old Nauvoo staying here. Thank you for sharing your home!
House was comfortable. It was very convenient for our stay. We were there to see all the historic Nauvoo stuff. The house was a 2 minute drive to the temple and 5 minutes from old Nauvoo, which made it nice during to day to run back and have lunch or dinner.

We were very pleased with the home. We loved the location, the charming decorations and age of the home. Most of all we were blessed to have Nauvoo Tina. She gave us insights and recommendations from a local perspective. Our vacation was awesome with her recommendations and the home just made it perfect.
We loved staying at the Abbott house! It’s so well taken care of and authentic to the time period we experience throughout Nauvoo! Communication was great. Distance to sights were great. Everything we needed was provided within the house. I will tell all my friends and family to stay at the Abbott house!
Great stay in Nauvoo at the Historic Rufus Abbott Manor
We wanted to have the authentic 1800's feel while we were staying in Nauvoo and this home does the trick! It was decorated so nicely in that era. My sister and I each had our own bedrooms upstairs so luckily it wasn't awkward for her to come into my bedroom to use the bathroom (the upstairs bathroom is in the Joseph & Emma room). We stayed 6 nights and made dinner several evenings in the home--they had everything we needed. The view out the dining room into the open field was lovely. We loved our stay!
