Welcome to your mid-island escape! Centrally located within easy reach of the islands stunning outdoor pursuits this home is located in a quiet walking neighborhood and is mere steps from the beach.
On the main floor, a fully furnished tile kitchen with new appliances, granite counter tops and view of the backyard paradise flows into the dining area with patio door to the outdoor deck and BBQ. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace and large, bright windows which present sweeping views of the ocean. The master bedroom with ensuite are down the hall and across from the second queen bedroom. An office with views over the water can be used for catching up on emails or as a third bedroom. The laundry and large entry are on a separate level and are spacious and inviting. A bonus sleeping area is in this room and features a raised queen air mattress.
A private backyard complete with mature trees, firepit, fruit trees, and walkway are a great place to relax in the shade and to enjoy the local flora and fauna.
The public beach access is 600 meters from the front steps and is a 6 minute walk. The local ocean park is the same distance in the opposite direction and bike trails can be accessed right down the street. Watch cruise ships, sail boats, orcas, eagles and seals while exploring tide pools and looking for starfish and other sea treasures. For another fun summer activity, explore the coastline with the two kayaks provided for your use and enjoyment.
Mid island attractions include Comox airport (18 minute drive), Comox downtown (20 minutes), Comox Lake (20 minutes), Hornby and Denman island ferry (34 minutes), Mt Washington Ski and Bike Area (36 minutes), Cumberland historic village and bike trails (27 minutes), whale watching adventures and other wildlife viewing on your beach or near Cambell River (35 minutes).

This rental was great for our group of extended family. Space to spread out and easy to get to town, beaches, rivers and mountains as well as local wineries.
We loved our stay at your place Darcey! The house was beautiful and a great location. Everyone was comfortable for our big group of 8 and we really appreciated being able to bring our dog - she loved the yard! The beach exploring was also really awesome - found lots of starfish and crabs! The kayaks were also so much fun. Thanks for helping to make our stay memorable!!
Our family stayed in this beautiful home for three weeks while out home was being repaired from a water leak. There is an incredible ocean view from the livingroom , office/bedroom and the very large deck.
The sunrises are incredible and its a short walk to the beach and trails.
The backyard is private oasis.
Darcey was very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay! We had everything we needed, and the house was nicely set up and very comfortable. The nature views of the woods and backyard were peaceful and the views of the water out of the living room were that beautiful. We loved being so close to the beach. The property was far enough out of town that it felt secluded and calming, but were still close enough to turn to get what we needed. The only thing different from what we expected is that there was a fooseball table in the pictures in the listing but we didn’t see one at the property.
The property is lovely with a wonderful backyard and a spectacular view of the water from the living room. We had a problem with heat as something wasn't working properly but our host jumped on the phone immediately and our problems were solved. Water pressure is a little low but being from well water ourselves we can understand. I have to say, Darcy was on top of every situation, making our visit as comfortable as possible, and all with good grace. We got our fill of golf, weather permitting and were happy we came.
My husband and our two adult boys plus one stayed over the holidays for a week. We have booked many places to stay through VRBO for over 20 years. This house is definitely in the top 2. Ultra modern, state of the art appliances (I want that dishwasher), very clean, large house, big yard, amazing views, fully stocked large kitchen, very comfortable beds, a quiet wooded area, and close to trailhead leading down to the beach (just walk to the left for 10 minutes and climb down the 72 steps to the beach). Our great nieces loved feeding the goldfish in the wooden barrel outside when they visited us on boxing day. We all played foosball inside and many board games on those rainy days. Thank you so much Darcey for your quick responses to our questions and seamless transition into the beautiful home. I just wish it was available for next Christmas again.

Property not to ourselves
Owner was nice but…We were a Group of 8 adults and a dog. We we there for a very special Wedding! The Owner was onsite in his owner’s suite below with his family. We didn’t have the place to ourselves!
We booked a 4 bedroom,2 bath accommodation. One bathroom had a tub only and the one that had the shower was the on-suite bathroom. We all had to share!!
The fourth bedroom was not part of the Unit we were in but rather the one couple had to go outside and access it. It was a bed in the laundry room, with no bathroom access!!!
We had to share with the owner the same BBQ patio and BBQ that was there for us as well. Owner and his family, although very nice, were often in the backyard as well. Parking space had to be left to accommodate the owners vehicle.
Food that was not ours was left opened, and dated in the cardboards, fridge and freezer .
Some outlets didn’t function.
Although a beautiful spot and nice people we were expecting space and accommodations to ourselves. Accommodations that slept 8 adults together. And two bathrooms with two showers.

Thanks for your feedback! This configuration is ideally suited for six guests with an overflow sleeping area for additional guests if required on the ground floor. There is an owners area that may be occupied in accordance with the CVRD B&B bylaws. The second floor deck is above and around the corner from the ground level owners area so it provides privacy for guests. Second shower is arriving fall of 2023 :)

Disappointed and a bit distressed
We were a group of 4 adults who were surprised to be informed on the day we arrived that the owner was going to be in his "owner’s suite" on the first floor. It was an unsettling and uncomfortable feeling not knowing who it was who could have complete access to our level of the house at any time (open stairway between the levels).
We thought we were booking a 3 bedroom home with three beds, but the third "bedroom" turned out to be a very small office with a hide-a-bed and a door onto the entry hall. One of our group was very gracious to accept this undesirable room. The main bathroom had no shower (!!), only an older tub. The only shower in the rental area was in the master bedroom and very small and old. The 4th possible "bedroom" had a bed you could blow up in the downstairs laundry room with the only access being from outside on the owner's level, and no bathroom.
The kitchen and living room were very nice. However, it was unusual to find a good amount of leftover food in the refrigerator.
The BBQ patio was on the owner's level; although we appreciate that the owner cleaned the BBQ when we were thinking of using it - we didn't feel comfortable sharing the space.
The saving grace was a lovely side deck with beautiful views. But, sorry to say, even though the owner was a very nice person and always helpful, we would not book this property again and cannot recommend it.

Glad you loved the kitchen, deck, living room and the views! Common areas are described within the listing and in the room details. I followed up with the cleaners about food left in the fridge, thanks for letting me know.
Great news is that a queen wall bed with standard mattress is being installed in the bonus room and second shower is planned for the fall.
From the moment we opened the front door it was “wow”.The home was clean, bright and welcoming .The amenities were all covered with many extra including bedding and kitchen supplies. The views were amazing from living room and office windows of a beautiful ocean and a lush beautiful flowered back yard .
The patio looked out towards the ocean and provide a great gathering place durning the day and evening.
Darley was so friendly and very easy to communicate with.
Our group was a extended family with friends who also came to visit. Darley was very accommodating to us all .
A short walk will take you to the beach .Darley provide kayaks .We were able to Kayak on the ocean with seals not far away. It was an amazing experience..
We highly recommend this home and if back in this area would love to stay here again
