The place was exactly as advertised and we had a great long weekend in Charleston. The location was close enough to walk to everything without being too close to the action. The host was very communicative and made sure the stay was great!
Very clean and cozy. Absolutely adorable and wonderful to stay in for a few nights. The host left food and tour guide recommendations, and the neighborhood was close to everything.
We had an excellent stay. The property was just as listed. Easy check-in process and communication with the property owner. We were in a great location for everything my daughter wanted to do on the trip and felt very safe where we stayed.
I was originally hesitant due to the lack of reviews but I was pleasantly surprised with how perfect this place was. Walking distance to King Street and lots of small coffee shops and restaurants to choose from while staying at this hidden oasis. Recommending to all of our friends that visit Charleston for a quick trip.
Super cute little place. Very quiet, walkable to everything. Very well equipped rental, tons of everyday essentials, owner even has snacks and munchies for guests. Only street parking, but lots available.
Jack the neighbor on property was there for any questions. Owner was accessible as well.
Good location. Street parking but easy to do. Good restaurants nearby and quiet. Snacks, wine, stocked with spices, oils to cook if need be. Nice property.
Just as described, a little oasis complete with a resident kitty who we loved! Perfect little porch and courtyard. Within walking distance to local cafes. Having a washer & dryer was an added bonus. Perfect for 1 or 2 people
Very cute property. It was was within walking distance to my daughter's house so that was important to me. There was a little concern with the surroundings at the end of the street, but I encountered no problems. Enjoyed my stay.
Our stay was well worth it. Relatively convenient to downtown and getting out to remote attractions. Facility was quaint and clean. Only problem was online listing address (17 Kracke St) was not correct so some initial planning was a bit wasted. Check in address we received a couple days before was correct.
9 day stay. Authentic rear house on a classic 'side porch" Charleston home. Very private. Great communication with host. Convenient neighborhood.
Place could have been a little cleaner and mattress a bit more comfortable. But all-in-all we had a wonderful stay!
The owner cancelled the day of after I asked about check in info and why we hadn’t received it. We were on our way to Charleston for a group get together that could not be changed for all other involved especially the day of check in. They said it was due to a fire inspection they hadn’t received yet for their rental permit. They could have easily told me this issue a few days prior minimum. I had to pay $400 more for a last minute place I was luckily able to get. From previous reviews this isn’t the first time the owner has cancelled the day of. Stay away!
The place is way overpriced for what it had to offer . The bed was totally uncomfortable , the bathroom sink would not drain you could hardly brush your teeth because the sink would not drain and would just leave standing water . Texted the people did nothing about it . So we spent 5 days brushing teeth in a flooded sink. Disgusting . Should really get some money back on this place. People need to check these places out . I am not sure how all these people who gave this a wonderful stay is thinking . The owners need to check out the place . One more thing offered chips to eat after looking at the date and they were all expired along with food in the cupboard. Two stars at the most .
Owner cancelled reservation the day we arrived to Charleston. We didn't know about the cancellation until we got off the airplane. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful by our party as well as by the VRBO customer service. The listing is inaccurate. The description shows a labeled photo of a queen bed. The owner contacted me and asked if I was ok with a "twin" sized bed. I inquired about the online description and over a week later a reply was sent that it was "actually a full size". I cannot give a review of the actual property from the inside since the reservation was cancelled "due to the property being unavailable". There is a clause reserved for emergencies and unsafe conditions. The VRBO customer service rep was unable to solicit a response as to why the reservation was cancelled on such short notice leaving us without a place to stay. The lack of communication and misleading information is unprofessional and should be approached with caution if you chose to try this listing.
We enjoyed our 3 day stay so much .. 5 stars all the way! The hosts had quick communication ahead of our trip, and were very hospitable thinking of just about everything you could possibly need while staying in their cottage. We also appreciated such a dog friendly rental option since they are hard to come by & they really make pets feel welcome. Several restaurants & coffee shops within walking distance & just a short 7ish minute drive to downtown. The shared courtyard was heavenly and the neighborhood was quiet. It’s definitely only meant for one or two people, but my husband and I and our two small pups had plenty of space, the bed was comfortable, and the converted carriage house has so much character. Clean & comfortable - would absolutely stay here again!
