We were there for an archery tournament at Mermet. Had all the room we needed inside and plenty of property outside to practice, do some fishing, watch deer/turkey, play cornhole, etc. Owner is a top-notch communicator and really went above and beyond to make sure we had all we needed. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed this peaceful getaway. The fishing was great and house was well stocked and clean! Nathan was very helpful and great at communicating with us. Kids enjoyed the arcade game and pool table.
Our quilting group loved our stay at Nathan’s beautiful place. The 25 minute drive into downtown Paducah is through lovely farmland and wasn’t a problem. The view from the house is so peaceful. The house is well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable get-a-way.
This property was perfect for a family vacation. The hosts are generous and responsive. The house is very well set up with things you need and extras like bikes and fishing poles. The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of clean, white, fluffy towels. The property itself is secluded but close to town as well as great parks and hiking. The private pond provided a good fishing spot and plenty of grass area was perfect for the kids to run around and play outdoor games. I would highly recommend this home.
We were able to enjoy a wonderful time here relaxing and exploring the farm. The host was very prompt, detailed, and helpful in communication. The house and property had everything we could need (and more). The space was more than enough for our family of five (we chose a larger than needed house to enjoy the great amenities and outdoor space there). The mattresses and pillows were very cozy, the kitchen was well stocked, the whirlpool tub and porch swing were relaxing. We enjoyed the wonderful view, the wildlife, fire pit, and even caught a fish on our daughter's first time fishing. A short distance from Metropolis and Heron Pond and only an hour from Garden of the Gods.
We were staying here to meet up with family and have a nice relaxing weekend together. This was the perfect house for that. The property was beautiful and the house had huge windows so you had an amazing views of the land and one of the ponds. The ponds were great for fishing. The boys caught a good amount. They had a huge deck to hang out on and a nice fire pit area. The house had plenty of beds to sleep in and the master bed and bath were huge! They also had a Arcade Classics table, which was amazing! The host was great as well. He left a binder of things, so we were informed and called to check on us to see if we needed anything. We had one tiny issue and he messaged right away and came to fix it immediately. We enjoyed our stay and we would love to come back again!!
Me and my extended family needed a weekend getaway, and this was just the perfect place. There were 9 of us in total ages 2 - 60 years old. The house is a generous size, and we never felt like there wasn't enough room. There is plenty to entertain yourself with: board games, cards, free arcade machine with so many classic games loaded on it, and a small pool/air hockey/ping pong table. We made the short drive over to the garden of the gods and cave in the rocks. Location is remote, which we loved. property was quiet and the stars at night will take your breath away. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, it was better than being at home. Almost all your essentials are within the home. Owners were easy to reach and always available. They were very generous and flexible. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended this property.
Pond Hollow Lodge was the perfect location from which to show our grandchildren and their parents our Southern Illinois roots in Massac, Pope, and Hardin Counties.
The house is spacious and so well equipped. Having plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, and towels was a real plus. The bicycles and fishing equipment were in great shape and were used. The games that were provided were crowd pleasers, too. …………The television was turned on only once, and that was for a news update.
The view from the floor to ceiling windows and deck overlooks the lake and fields beyond. The grass around the house and lake had just been cut. That made for good walks, fishing, and cycling around the lake.
Deer and wild turkeys are a common sight.
We would definitely book Pond Hollow Lodge again.
This was one of the best stay in Illinois we have had. The rental was clean an neat. There is plenty of wildlife an great scenery and very secluded! The ponds are beautiful! We will definitely rebook this rental. I highly recommend this one!
Great location. We loved the space and there was plenty for the kids to do. Fishing, biking, arcade games, ping pong, pool, and air hockey. There was plenty of space for eating since there were multiple tables on the porch as well as a table and bar top seating inside.
We enjoyed our stay. This was a great place to gather with family. There was plenty of space to hang out, a well stocked kitchen and fun activities available. There were enough bedrooms/ beds for everyone to have their own space. The out door area was beautiful and could be enjoyed from the spacious deck or through the gigantic windows. We would happily come back here in the future.
My family and I stayed at the location for a week. The beauty, comfort of the privacy was perfect for our get away. The views and many outdoor activities provided kept us busy and in awe. The home is very private but close enough to town for convenience. We are looking forward to coming back soon. I highly recommend for anyone staying in the area.
Everything about this place was top-notch. Communication with the property owner was perfect. The property was even better than expected. I only wish we could have reserved it again for next year's AQS Show, but sadly, someone beat us to the punch.
Property was beautifully maintained. Home was was clean nice bedrooms and furniture. Kitchen was well equipped, outdoors area well equipped, we only needed to bring our food. Had a wonderful little vacation!
My family of 4 spent 3 nights here during my boys’ Spring Break. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and the property was beautiful. The location was secluded, but not too far from Paducah and Metropolis. It was a good location for doing some hiking in Shawnee National Forest and Garden of the Gods, which is what had brought us to the area. Nathan was very communicative and easy to reach before and during our stay. We had a great time and would definitely book this property again if we return to the area.
