Island Park Cottage- Cozy 2-bedroom home on the Lake

Island Park Cottage is a large and private property with a cozy open concept 2-bedroom home located on the lake in Gun Barrel City. Perfect for a family getaway or a small group of friends, you will have direct access from the backyard to the lake (SEE NOTE BELOW REGARDING THE LAKE LEVEL) for less than most other waterfront homes on the lake. Only an hour away Dallas, Cedar Creek Lake combined with Island Park Cottage is the perfect destination for those looking to escape the city life for a few days.
Located in a quiet neighborhood in Gun Barrel City, you can take a walk or ride a bike through the neighborhood. You have access to the Walmart and Brookshires Grocery store within a few minutes' drive. Visit the multiple local restaurants or choose to eat at home on the water.

THE LAKE LEVEL CAN VARY AT ANY GIVEN TIME DURING THE YEAR. We recommend you inquire about the lake level if this is an important part of your visit to the lake BEFORE YOU BOOK. The current level is: VERY LOW.


Inside of home:
Open concept living room/kitchen
Living room has sofa, leather side chair, tv with Hulu, Netflix and Disney Plus. Fireplace has electric heater insert.
Kitchen contains: refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, food processor, toaster, instant pot, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, cooking spices.
1st Bedroom: Queen bed with bedding and pillows.
2nd Bedroom: Full bed, twin bed and pull out twin bed, bedding, pillows, tv with Old School video games.
Bathroom: Stand up shower basic toiletries.
Sunroom: sofa with queen sleeper, washer/dryer, full length wrap-around drapery for privacy.
Wifi is provided, but at the lake anything can happen and sometimes the internet goes down. This unfortunately is not something we can control and most properties are subjected to this. Please keep this in mind if internet is a requirement for you stay.


On the Outside:
Raised deck from the back door with outdoor seating including a couch and a bar/table for eating.
The grill is located right off the deck
with overhead string lights to help see across the expansive backyard.
A paddleboard and kayak as well as life vests are provided (You may want to bring your own to assure proper fit).
Fish directly from our lower dock,
Stairway with rails to help you get in and out of the water.
Three beach cruisers and a jr. bike.
Dock to tie off boat for day use. We do not recommend leaving your boat in overnight as there is not a boat lift and can be damaged if the water gets rough. Tying up to the dock is done at the guest's risk. We take no responsibility for any damage that could occur to your boat. Local boat ramp is less than 5 minutes away.
Upper deck above dock is now open. Enjoy the beautiful sunset views of the lake!

Cutest cottage! The host was so thoughtful - house is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The bar on the porch was perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks. And sitting out on the top deck was so pleasant. Perfect stay!

Birthday get away

Absolutely wonderful home, owners, and location. We had 4 friends join us one afternoon to celebrate my husband’s birthday and they also loved the house. We floated in the canal and kayaked and paddle boarded to the lake. We will return.

Anniversary getaway

Everything was brand new in the home and loved the small but loaded kitchen with plenty of counter space. We spent most of our time on the back deck just enjoying our stay. Amazing and responsive host, warm, inviting, and spotless!! So glad we chose this Vrbo… we picked based on proximity to my daughters Gun Barrel City house. A spectacular getaway

If you're looking for peace and solitude topped off by stylish and comfortable surroundings, then this is it!! This place is a true gem from top to bottom. We enjoyed our stay here so much on our very first family ladies' trip and this adorable home provided everything that we could ask for. We absolutely love the ability to sit on the dock, fish and take in the outdoors plus have to use of the fantastic, enclosed patio room when it was raining. You cannot go wrong here! Attention to details

We’ve stayed at mini vacation rental location and this one supersedes them all by far! Courtney has given careful attention to all the little details. Decorating was in keeping with the theme of the property and we found the rental to be clean and very well stocked with everything we needed from condiments to water to bug spray.

Details Matter!

I have stayed at many VRBO properties over the years and this is #1 on my list for the attention to all the details that made my Mom’s stay comfortable. We normally rent something larger, to fit our family of 10, but this time it was just my Mom and me with my daughters visiting. The size was perfect! It felt MUCH larger than the square footage listed in the description!!!

Wonderful lake house getaway

This sweet lake house was even better than expected. It was perfectly clean and the host had provided everything you would want or need to fully enjoy the stay. The house is perfectly decorated and has every comfortable of home including a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom necessities such as fresh toothbrushes and nice toiletries, fluffy comforters, and a nice smell greets you when you arrive. The closed in patio is nice for morning coffee with a view of the lake and there is a large outdoor area with activities if you want to partake. Courtney was quick to answer any question we had and made the experience so nice. My daughter and I will be back next time we go to Canton!
