Rachel did a great job responding to questions and helping with ideas for the area. This was a fun getaway for a quick holiday experience. There is plenty of space for multiple people. It’s close to great spots like Granville, Columbus etc.
We appreciated how dog friendly the house was. The host was very responsive to all my questions. For Christmas Eve dinner, we had 8 people and the dining room table accommodated all of us easily. I wish we would have had access to some cleaning items like a vacuum, to help us keep the areas cleaner. We loved ALL the extra storage as I did bring a lot of my own cooking supplies. The individual sink by the coffee bar was great as well as individual Keurig cups available to get us thru the first day. The water pressure and hot water were perfect. We heard no complaints.I would only point out that if someone is going to stay in the basement, just know it's noisier than we expected due to HVAC and water (we believe). Our guest in the basement had some troubles sleeping. They turned on some white noise which helped a lot. All in all, though, we stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderful time.
We were a HS boys basketball team here for a weekend tournament. Team and coaches really enjoyed the accommodations, space and area. Very clean and a great location for us.
This is a beautiful house with lots of space for a big family, however it was not as well equipped as most places we've stayed (kitchen and cleaning supplies). It was also not completely prepared at check-in (laundry not done and full trash cans). The owners were, however, very responsive and addressed our concerns quickly. If they work out some of the kinks it will be a great place for a family getaway.
Large beautiful property. Great game area!!! Great eating area!!!! Lake access, places to walk , outside and inside I think we used every inch of the property They voted the house best place for reunion
We love this neighborhood, and the proximity to the Lake, and it was the perfect spot to watch the fireworks...we like that it accommodates our entire family comfortably. We would return again, for sure. Also great parking!
Plenty of room for family to stay and enjoy our time there. Kitchen was open with a nice counter and dining room. Televisions in each room so all could enjoy themselves. Nice porch area for relaxing and visiting with each other. Beds and bedrooms we’re comfortable.
The house was perfect for our family reunion. There were plenty of bedrooms and beds, lots of places to hang out on upper and lower decks, two nice living room areas on the first floor, and a great game room in the basement. So plenty of places to be together, but plenty of places for folks to find some quiet time. It's a 5 minute walk to a park area with a beach on Crane Lake, which the kids loved. And for those needing an urban escape, Columbus is short drive.
We had 12 cross country teen girls stay for 4 days for our team building camp. We were able to run on the 4.1 mile path around the lake, enjoyed swimming, the hot tub and had plenty of room for all
This house was beautiful, spacious, well stocked, and incredibly clean. We had a group of 9 staying here for a birthday weekend and it was such a great time, just steps away from the lake and close to all the attractions of the region. We had an initial issue with the wifi after checkin, but the host responded very quickly and we had service restored quickly. I would definitely recommend this property for large families and/or groups.
Staying on the water is one of the best places to relax and yet have a lot of fun. This home offers the option to do both in the home and is close to fun on the water. We had the freedom to enjoy activities all together and in groups separately. The home is very roomy and comfortable, and the host is very responsive. It was a great weekend!
Just a group of friends away for the weekend to see the Solar Eclipse and this house was just perfect for us. It was a home away from home and my dream home. Rachel was wonderful to talk to and responded quickly to all my questions. The town is a quiet sweet town. I would highly recommend this listing.
We were doing our annual golf outing and decided to try a new location by playing courses near Buckeye Lake. There were 8 of us, all seniors. Colonial on Crane fit all of our needs and was near all of the courses we played. All questions I had were answered promptly by our host. If you are looking for a place for a large group or just a few friends, look no further. You will love this house!
The property was exactly what we were looking for. It had lots of common areas, a nice kitchen, enough bedrooms. It is very updated and a perfect place to gather with a few families for a weekend getaway. The downside was it didn't have some essentials. The kitchen has almost nothing as far as pans, pots, serving bowls or 9x12 glass dishes, knives, cutting boards but has plenty of plates, bowls, silverware. The oven burns and sets off the smoke alarm as it is a convection oven and the microwave sitting above it is broken so no exhaust which was an issue. The firepit is gas as well as the grill. We had to replace the tanks upon arrival as there was no propane and we only had a 3 night stay.
The house has a TV in almost every room which was awesome. The hot tub was perfect and lots of towels were provided for the hot tub as well as the house bathrooms.
Some small fixes could make this house stellar:
- broom in the house; only vacuum cleaner
- cookie sheet, larger pans, some glass dishes to mix a salad or recipe together, cutting boards, knives that work
- fix or replace microwave so there is an exhaust for the convection oven
- screens in the windows!!!
- add another bed or a more functional option in the master than the futon that is there now. Its tiny and super small. Another bed would go along way.
Other than that - this place is pretty awesome.

We appreciate the feedback. We’ve located all the kitchen items on your list and placed them in more visible places in the kitchen. We also un-tripped the gfi for the microwave. We do keep a spare backup propane tank around the corner on the deck, which was still unopened upon your departure. As a host we strive to provide an exceptional experience and provide more amenities then other hosts, and are always available 24/7 in the event that a guest can not find an item or can not get something to work. We would’ve been more than happy to help you locate these items during your stay, to ensure it was a positive one, had any of this been brought to our attention. Also future guests should note that the futon is not intended for a sleeping space, we have a firm max guest count of 16 due to limited parking.
Just a little disappointed in the actual location of this home, as it appears in the description that it is on the lake which it isnt, its across the street and you cannot look out and actually gaze upon the lake. Upon our arrival I was a little disappointed the stairs going up to the door were covered in snow and ice. There were no shovels or snow tools to remove it and it was a little dangerous taking my 88 yr old Mom up those steps. Later I found a broom and dust pan and used the dust pan to scrape the ice loose. When you walk into the house its a grand opening! Beautiful kitchen, living room and dining. The downstairs had everything from a poker table to pool table, games and two additional bedrooms. The upstairs was equally gorgeous. We did have a couple of mishaps, but the host was quick to send help to solve our problems. Loved this place as did my family as we all sat down to a great Christmas dinner and opening of presents. My suggestions: new dinnerware is needed. Presently the dinnerware is old and scratched up resin plates, bowls and serving bowls. The downstairs bathroom had no towels for guests, but we took care of that. There was only one large pot and one very small pan to cook with, I had to make one dish, wash the pan and repeat several times. No baking sheets, only two very old baked on pizza pans. There were some mismatched drinking glasses, but not enough for our 15 people to sit and eat dinner. We had to purchase our own trash bags.

I appreciate the feedback. We did replace the vast majority of our pots and pans this week as we noticed when staying ourselves the vast majority of our nice cookware has walked off. We do have our glass (and plastic) tall and short glasses and wine glasses spread out across multiple cabinets and keep extra coffee mugs in drawers as it's too much to store in one place.
We are at the corner of crane lake. Unfortunately the platform no longer allows us to post our drone shots for guest security reasons. Our boat dock is directly cross the road, and you have a direct view of the water from all the way around our first and second floor deck, but future guests should note you have to cross the road to access the water. We will absolutely find out why snow removal wasn't handled before arrival and am so sorry that was your first impression! And will work with the cleaners to ensure we are more consistent on leaving out adequate supplies and towels per bathroom.
