Fab house and pool

Wonderful hosts and an amazing property. The massive pool was the highlight, especially in the 37 degree heat! Kids loved the outdoor space and table tennis table. We’ll definitely be back.

Relaxing in comfort

Very comfortable place, really well equipped. The pool and garden are fabulous. The area is really quiet, no local shops, bars or restaurants. During our stay in mid June the nearby seaside towns were still pretty quiet.

We had a lovely stay at La Marette in September 2026. The villa is spacious, well equipped, dog friendly and has a large garden, patio and pool area with table tennis, swings and trampoline. There is plenty to do indoors as well with French and UK TV available and a good selection of books and board games. The rooms were all clean, comfortable and tidy. We didn't have a great deal of contact with the hosts but they offered to help us when our car had a flat battery which we really appreciated. The village of Saint-Denis-du-Payré was very quiet but this may be down to the time of year we visited. This suited us perfectly as we wanted a nice chilled holiday. Location-wise it is about 15 minutes drive from the larger supermarkets in Luçon and about 20 minutes drive to the Plage des Belugas which is a nice dog friendly beach. If you don't have a dog I think there are close beaches 10 to 15 minutes drive away. I would recommend La Marette for your holiday in a gorgeous part of France.

Fabulous family week

We were a family of 6, travelling with our adult children and their partners. The house was great, lots of outside space in a quiet rural area. The pool was fantastic, warm and a good size for swimming, games etc. The annexe was a welcome addition offering privacy and additional living accommodation. We hired bikes from Lovely Bicylettta in Luçon and they delivered and collected them from the house. The roads are quiet and felt safe for cycling, vendee velo routes can be easily accessed. Plenty of good crockery and utensils for cooking and a great bbq/outside stove which we mainly used. The house would benefit from a bit of an upgrade in places (windows and doors get a bit stuck, some loose tiles near pool area etc. ) but this didn’t detract at all from our holiday experience and we’d definitely book again. Stuart and Michelle were easy to communicate with and prompt to reply to our questions.

Maison dans son jus on sens que le temps est passé mais l'espace est spacieux et on a tous ce qu'il faut pour les repas. Il faudrait rajouter des couverts pour au moins 2 jours de repas consécutifs et peut être proposer des draps pour les lits au lieu des couettes sans house mais a part ça les canapés topissimes et la literie et la salle de bain top aussi ... Pour la piscine c'est une piscine olympique chauffé c'est super agréable grand jardin avec table de ping pong et un tranpolin super grand vous pouvez même cueillir des fruits dans le jardin par contre certains abords de la piscine sont coupant faites attention à vos pieds la plancha et le barbecue sont un plus il faudrait juste le nettoyer davantage après les sièges extérieur super confortable franchement super moment en famille loin de tous donc au calme . Après le camping à côté est un peu bruyant par moment et aucune boulangerie dans ce petit village c'est bien dommage mais on peut trouver à 10 min en voiture on reviendra

Maison très agréable même si des améliorations sont à prévoir comme une meilleur isolation des fenêtres.On a apprécié les cadeaux de bienvenue, tant pour les adultes que pour les enfants!Quelque suggestion pour améliorer le quotidien comme des serviettes de toilettes de couleurs différentes par chambrée. Plus pratique lorsque l'on est plusieurs que la même couleur pour tous!Le lieu de résidence est très calme et agréable.La piscine est un plus apprécié par tous ainsi que les différentes activités de loisir mises à disposition( trampoline, balançoires et ping-pong).

Villa au calme, mais grand besoin d'un coup de neuf

Le positif: - villa au calme avec un grand jardin, ideal pour les enfants et le chien - aucun vis à vis, on est vraiment tout seul - les propriétaires sont disponibles en cas de pepin, et sont flexibles - ca sent vraiment le propre quand on arrive, le linge de bain sent bon le negatif: - la maison a serieusement besoin de renovation, la plupart des portes et des fenetres ne ferment pas bien, la protection du trampoline est usée - beaucoup d'humidité dans certaines pieces - aucun commerce dans le village, il faut prendre systematiquement la voiture pour aller faire les courses / aller chercher du pain. => au final, un bon sejour, mais le rapport qualité / prix n y est pas.
