We had an amazing time staying at this cozy cottage, the place was clean, had everything we needed and it’s a short walk to the local beach. The bonus room was pleasant surprise specially for the kids. Thank you Cheryl for checking on us and giving us tips for the 4th of July fireworks… we will be back for sure
The house was perfect! Not too big, not too small. The location was great. The host did a great job preparing the property and guiding us to the best restaurants, beaches and places to visit. Would definitely book again!
Our stay at this cottage was fantastic! The house was perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The highlight was definitely the extra room with a surprise feature that the kids absolutely loved. The only drawback was that there wasn't direct access to the beach on foot. However, we drove a few minutes to a wonderful beach, which more than made up for it. We would definitely come back anytime!
My family and I loved this cute little cottage. Beds were comfortable. The place was super clean. Captain's quarters was a great place to relax. Nice short walk to the bay. Neighbors were friendly. Road was a dirt road, so it is super safe for little ones. I will definitely be going again.
We were in Fairhaven for work and so thankful we chose this adorable cottage. The “Captain” was very responsive to our questions & needs. The cottage was so comfortable and it’s probably one of the best stocked rentals we have ever stayed in. The home is very clean and comfortable, with beautiful & creative decorating. The street is quaint, quiet and you can even see the bay from the kitchen window. We absolutely LOVED our stay! I would highly recommend this cottage.
Nice, well kept home. Special touches like a Keurig with cups and a shampoo dispenser in the shower. Well kept yard with lots of grass. Location in Fairhaven is close to so many things including West Island Beach, Fort Phoenix, & the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Shops around to pick up things like groceries and beach items. Highly recommend this home. It’s our 2nd time here and we are just as happy as the first time around.
Absolutely adorable house quiet as we like and comfortable! We love that you have old memorabilia and history of fair haven. Books to read if you like to unwind and just relax with little treats for your group and a neurogenic with coffee. If you have a man cave buff or just want to hang out with some drinks at the bar in the Garage there’s a TV and juke box to enjoy as well! Can’t wait to come back as it’s also a great location between different towns to explore! Thank you for an Enjoyable stay!
Easy communication with owner. We were hoping to kayak but caught unfortunate 3 days of cool rain and wind. Comfortable place to spend time, had everything we needed to kick back and relax. Owner offered late check out which we couldn’t accept but appreciate the gesture. Bigger than we needed(just two of us) would be great rental for family.
The property is wonderful and located on a beautiful peaceful street. You can see the water from the house, but it's not immediately on the water, which is exactly what we preferred. The house is well-maintained, clean, updated, and cozy. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The kitchen was well-stocked with pantry items and cookware! We saved a ton of money by cooking most nights. The grocery store is minutes away. We were just minutes from the public beach and the property owners had a beach pass for guests to use. There are plenty of local restaurants and attractions; we went to Off the Hook (they have excellent ice cream!) and we toured downtown New Bedford and the whaling museum. It's an easy drive to Boston from Fairhaven. Overall, we had a fabulous time. The two suggestions that I have is to (1) add a larger couch or more sitting areas for the living room. We have a family of 6, and there were enough beds for us, but the living room only had comfortable seating for about 3 to 4 of us. (2) The other suggestion is to have blackout curtains in the bedrooms -- the sun rises very early in the summer and we like to sleep in, so it was very bright in the bedrooms. But honestly, those are minor suggestions and wouldn't impede us from renting this property again. Would 100% recommend! Thanks, Cheryl, for renting the house to us and for great communication!
Beautiful little house tucked away in a small corner of the world. Beautiful birds and rabbits throughout the property. Comfortable beds, clean house, good water pressure both hot and cold. Restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy near by. Host very responsive. Would stay here again.
Best place we’ve stayed at and our family travels quite a bit. We loved the cottage and the garage is such a bonus and fun place to hang out. The neighbors were great as well and allowed the cousins to play a football game in their yard. My brothers that came to visit now want to book a stay for a weekend sometime soon.
Cozy cottage was cute, clean, and well stocked.
The location was exactly what we wanted: close to not too crowded beaches, quiet area, no cape traffic. Easy drive to providence and the cape.
We stayed with small children and brought our own travel cot. The nearest public beach was super for our small children to explore.
A very relaxing stay!
