I will be merciless at my discretion should this situation occur.
Additionally, The indoor space is protected by a very fancy smart wifi connected smoke and CO2 detector for your safety. Outdoor security is provided via 7 outdoor cameras placed strategically around my 3 acres to protect not only your vehicles and property...but also my own things at my neighboring cabin where I reside.

As always it was a pure joy to host you guys and the furry baby....do come again. And thanks for that heads up on the drain thing. I did locate the problem. I had forgotten to put the trap drain back in. Silly me. Thankyou for alerting me to that issue.
Cabin was exactly as described, loved the rustic feel, knotty pine interior and stone fireplace. My girlfriend and I along with our dog Ollie loved the property and the area. Jonathan was a great host and fantastic river guide. Will be back next year with a side x side in tow. Great area for hiking, canoeing, bikes and side x sides.

Colin and kelli are vrbo dream renters. Fun. Courteous. Clean. Kayaking was spectacular and bug free. Sorry we couldn't get the shmores at the Saturday night bonfire
The cabin was roomy. The bathroom was up to date with great water pressure. The cabin is located just outside of Mio and is not far from many attractions. The host was knowledgeable of the area and was nice.

Thanks so much for recognizing our improvements to this diamond in the rough. We hope to see you 2 again.....And by the end of this week there will be a new on demand hot water tank....no more 4 minute showers! and by the time we see you again we may even have the clawfoot tub installed and operational... And wait til you see the fireplace mantel and new kitchen countertops and more surprises. See you soon.
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful rustic cabin. Everything was spotless, and the cozy décor made us feel right at home. The host was incredibly communicative and friendly, making check‑in and planning seamless. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night! We’re already planning to come back during mushroom season and in the summer for a canoe adventure. This cabin offered the perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm, and the host’s hospitality made it even more special. Highly recommend!

Long Weekend
It was a rustic and relaxing setting. The neighbor across the road was very friendly and made our children and us feel welcomed. A good break to disconnect and relax for a couple of days.

Splat is a good guy. Glad you enjoyed our cabin and the river. Come back again.
This is a quaint rustic cabin reminicent of early 20th century. Nice and quiet on the edge of a northern Michigan town named Mio. The host is top notch and attentive to every need and question from his guests.

You and your crew are so much fun. Repeat guests are the best. The feel of early 20th century was and is intended but with the modern twist. Oh that sweet corn was yum yum.
I rented for my parents 50th Anniversary. They absolutely loved the location and the cabin. They love rustic, quiet places with the up north feel.
They said it was a comfortable and peaceful stay. The property was beautiful and they loved the smell of the pines. Lot's of walking trails and things to do in nature.
The host was incredibly accommodating and made them feel welcome.
Thank you for providing a wonderful weekend for my parents!

thank you for that. your folks are good people and lots of fun
We had a great time!!! The bed was a queen size and it was very clean and comforable. We had very warm showers too. There was plenty to do as it's close to Bull Gap , Wolf Creek, an the Ausable River. The hosts were very hospitable. They surprised us with kabobs for supper one night and the next night invited us to listen to music, talk, and have a couple of drinks in their Party Barn that they are currently working on. This place is perfect for a couple and we are definitely going back. The only suggestion that I have is that it needs to have curtains in the living room.

Yes ....we loved hosting your stay. Next year you will see additional updates... fireplace will be operational....a clawfoot tub... new countertop and sink and more.... never know what dish we prepare... but always be ready for something delish
If you do not understand “rustic” this is NOT the place for you. If you MUST have complete privacy (no doors on either bedroom) this is probably not the place for you. If you grew up camping in the 70’s and you miss it but your body has had enough of the cold hard ground - THIS is what you need! The doors and door handles take me back to visiting Great Grandma. The absolute charm of a northern cabin! Yet he has modernized the bathroom to the point of never wanting to leave. The hosts attention to small details- York peppermint patties on the bed stands, bag of treats on the top shelf with a box of toys on the floor for our dog, towels folded so you feel like you’re in a 5star hotel, 1/2 dozen farm fresh eggs and bottles of water in the fridge, the homemade brownies made up for the fact that the promised campfire was rained out. Jonathan should be very proud of all the updates he has made thus far!Icing on the cake- his knowledge of the area - where to fish, where to hike, good places to eat etc! We will be looking for this place when we’re in the area again!

Would not stay again
Pictures of this property are deceiving!! We were warned it was rustic and we were fine with that, but rustic does not mean filthy. It was horribly dirty and gross. Also none of the windows are covered, no curtains or blinds and there were people at the cabin next door, very creepy and uncomfortable having people being able to look in. The sheets on the bed were clean but that was about it, the rest of the place was covered in dust and cobwebs and just filthy. Very very run down. Furniture inside the cabin was pretty cool and the decorations in cabin were cool but we could just not get past the filth. I couldn't even bring myself to shower at this place, 😩 bugs everywhere. Horrible experience. I do not recommend.

I would say this person is quite rude and off base and even obtuse in their comments. First....the creepers next door are their hosts! Myself and my gf How dare they make such a judgemental statement on people they never bothered to say hello to nor even wave to. As to bugs..... yep! There are indeed bugs in the forest. Bears and even bats. It is well known that bugs are plentiful in the forest. Don't have expectations that they are not around.... they are!l...as for filth? Let's just say this 100 year old cabin is likely cleaner and more sanitary than their own house. Prove me wrong.....
Always one in the crowd that can't read nor view images and actual video. To say we are deceiving is a stretch. I am glad to say that renter here is not welcome to stay again. She is welcome to go rent a hotel anywhere else..just not here
. just wow!
Finally.... based on pics...video....and texts and more...what was she really after here? A true piece of work she is. Good riddance... and I stand by the description pics and video as extremely accurate. And further state ms chase highly exaggerates the state of "filth...bugs....cobwebs" as for no curtains...pics tell a different story.
