Minocqua Lac du Flambeau WI Northwoods Log Loft Cabin on Amber Lake
Our cabin was formerly part of the "Whispering Woods Cottages", a family-owned and managed property from 1991 until 2020 when we purchased the first of four cabins offered for sale as single-family properties. Two other cabins on site are short-term rentals as well. If you have a larger group, there may be availability to rent as many as 3 cabins (comfortably sleeping 18). Our property is located 17 mi. west of downtown Minocqua and South of Hwy. 70. If fishing is your thing, Squaw (now Amber) Lake is a 736-acre Class A Muskie Lake also offering up walleye, blue gill, and crappie: only steps to the lake to set up your portable ice fishing shanty for year round fish fries, or for accessing the many biking or snowmobile trails in the area. Our cabin is 75' from a level lakeshore where you have the use of a shared pier with electricity, sandy beach and campfire pit. We hope the year-round relaxed environment will help you unwind, relax and reconnect.
There is a public boat landing a mile away and plenty of room on the property to park your trailer. We are 15 mi. from Lake of the Torches Casino, 17 mi. from the Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari, and 17 mi. from the Winter Park Recreation area. The neighboring communities of Arbor Vitae, Woodruff, Hazelhurst and Tomahawk offer a variety of things to do: Northwoods Zipline, Aerial Trek, Argo ATV & Kayak River Adventures; Northwoods Children's Museum; and the Northwoods Wildlife Center. Mini-golf and horseback riding at Holiday Acres and the Min-Aqua Bats water ski shows are popular attractions in Minocqua during the summer months. There are numerous hiking and biking trails in the area: the Hiawatha Trail and Bearskin State Trail are favorites.

The cabin was phenomenal. It was super quiet. I enjoyed the screened in porch. We had mixed weather while we were there but it is not our first year to the Northwoods so we adapted. The lake is quiet mostly fisherman with a few water skiers but nothing compared to other lakes nearby. Considering coming back.
This was our first time in the Northwoods and we could not have been more pleased with the cabin and its location. Plenty of room, very clean and fully stocked cabin, plus the outdoor space is amazing. Beautiful lake, dock, and a great amount of space. We rented a pontoon and would 100% do that again. The property owner was very pleasant to work with as well. Great communication!
From the moment we opened the door everything was beautiful!
We enjoyed enjoyed the wonderful porch with its unique windows that opened completely, the kitchen was very modern, very well stocked and plenty of room for 3 people to be preparing meals.
The fishing was great, there are some nice fish in the lake from the dock or the boat ( there is also a mean walleye out there that bites to get off the hook! lol )
Thanks Roberta, we had a wonder Stay!

About the host
Hosted by ROBERTA A WARD
I have been enjoying the Northwoods in Wisconsin for 20+ years and have spent the last ten years looking for a lakefront property with level lake access where I could "get away from it all". In the fall of 2020, I finally found the ideal cabin to fit the needs of myself, my family and our many friends. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
There is something to enjoy outside almost every day of the year in Northern Wisconsin. In the summer months we enjoy fishing, swimming, pontooning, boating, water skiing, kayaking, biking and hiking. During the winter months, it's snowshoeing, downhill or cross country skiing, ice fishing, and ice skating. If you prefer indoor activities, it's an ideal setting to read, watch movies, play cards/games or share your favorite stories with family and friends.
What makes this property unique
The property is close enough to the action that going out to local restaurants and/or bars is only a short drive. Yet our setting is far enough away that it feels like a true "Northwoods" get-away. Amber Lake Road is a dead end so traffic is minimal.
