About this property

Beautiful House on the beach. Come and enjoy your paradise vacation!

Spacious 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, with kitchen, sitting area, screened-in patio with outdoor sectional and dining area. Fully rehabbed in 2022.

Shangri-La offers beautiful ocean views and a white sand beach, large Smart TVs in the family room and the primary bedroom. There is a stack washer & dryer; kitchen with utensil and appliance (including blender, coffee maker, toaster), plus board games for those lazy afternoons and evenings.

The house is large enough to comfortable entertain up to 6 people. Your comfort can be environmentally comfortable with individual AC units in all bedrooms, plus a unit in living room area. All bedrooms also have ceiling fans with adjustable lighting. Just off of the living room there is a spacious screened-in patio with a large sectional couch and dining table that seats up to 6 people. There are beach chairs, a gas and charcoal grill and enough space to relax or for the kids to play.

Whether you're on a family vacation or a peaceful getaway to paradise this is the house for you! Shangri-La is located on a 7 mile white sand beach (Tar Bay Beach), centrally located and minutes from the airport. Come and enjoy the fresh sea breeze and calming sounds of the ocean, and lets not forget the breath taking morning sunrises and evening sunsets! This is truly an escape to your very own PARADISE!

Fun family vacation at perfect paradise!!

Amazing vacation

Beautiful fully equipped home with Perfect location. Spent 4 days with family including a 4 year old. The house was perfect. Very comfortable and cozy. The Screened in porch was great for coffee in the mornings and dinner at night. We loved every minute. The location is convenient to the airport, markets, town. Crystal was very helpful with questions and accommodations. Hope to be back next year! .

We had a great time at the house. The screen porch was perfect for the evening and dinners were great with no bugs. One thing that would make the house a little bit better would be a dishwasher. Other than that the property was pretty great!

Beautiful Beach

We had an amazing time, and this house was perfect for us. The location is great, close to the airport, restaurants, grocery, and downtown. The house had plenty of amenities, even a couple lanterns. The power went out for a couple hours one evening and it was very nice those were there. We had a late flight out and we were even able to get a late check out, really appreciated that. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for letting us rent your home!

Incredible beach house

Shangri La is an incredible beach home. It is located on the most beautiful beach only steps from the water. The home had two great sized bedrooms and a wonderful sitting room. It also has an amazing screened in back porch to sit and listen to the waves. The home was extremely clean and very well stocked. It had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. I would highly recommend staying at this home. It was fantastic

Love the screen porch!

Cute house, newly renovated, perfect for two couples (or more with additional studio space on site). Our favorite spot to hang out and eat meals was the screen porch. Comfy beds, lots of pillows. Everything we needed in the kitchen, including spices, ice cube trays and a nice sized cooler for boat and beach day. Great location between airport and Smittys market, right on gorgeous Tar Bay. Quiet area. We hope to be back soon.

Excellent property !

This is a nice house on the beach. It has all the basic needs you will want. My family of 5 stayed here for 10 days. We managed fine but with older kids than mine it might be tight. There is an additional apt. On this property that we didn’t rent. The screened porch at night is nice! The host was easy to communicate with and we will likely return.

Fabulous house with great beach!!

This is a great house -- just a described and all you need. Kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean and nice. Couldn't ask for a better location on the island - near airport, Georgetown and local beaches. The beach in front of the house is amazing and almost all you need. What was key for us, as well ... the screened porch! When the sun went down, the bugs come out and porch is a lifesaver. We would absolutely stay at this home again and definitely recommend it! Thank you for such a wonderful time.

Perfect spot and great value!

We are so grateful for a VRBO option at this price point. It was perfect - close to the airport and exactly what we needed. We especially loved the beach access, and we spent a lot of time on the screened in porch to enjoy the ocean view and sound. We didn’t receive VRBO’s automated email with the lockbox code, so it was a little stressful trying to get in touch with the host while we still had WiFi before leaving the US, but we got it just in time! We were there for a family reunion and this VRBO was just minutes down the road from where the rest of our family stayed, very convenient for us. My grandparents immigrated from Exuma over 100 years ago, so this was a very special trip for our family to honor their legacy. We will cherish the memories made thanks to this VRBO, and we hope to stay here again one day!

Wonderful

We were in Shangri La for 5 days and 4 nights. The house is wonderful, completely furnished, and contains everything you might need. Just bring your clothes and toiletries. The screened in porch is the best thing about this place. It is huge with a dining table and couch/love seat combination. We all slept out there at one time or another. The house is very clean, neat, and well maintained. Plenty of room for 5-6 people. Kitchen was very well stocked with ample cooking and eating utensils. The beach is very close to the house and the sound of the waves was very soothing and peaceful. One day a storm knocked out the power and the next door neighbor checked on us. I am not sure I have ever had a better vacation. Thank you so much for allowing us this opportunity. The only minor drawback to the place is the parking and entrance to the property was a little tight. But based on the layout and beautiful entrance, I am not sure what could be done. You cannot go wrong staying here. It was completely wonderful!

Perfect little gem on a gorgeous beach!

Hubby and I and our 20- and 18- year old kids stayed for a week at Shangri-La and it was perfect for us! Not a huge place, but laid out really well. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out on the comfy sofa in the living area. My daughter and son didn't mind sharing the 2nd bedroom -- they each had their own large, comfy bed. The entire home is beautifully furnished and very clean. The air conditioning offered a great escape from the muggy outside air. We loved to watch the sunrise each morning from the screened porch overlooking the beach. One of the best things about this place is the location. Just a few steps from the back door is your own gorgeous sandy beach! We rarely saw other people, just other guests in neighboring houses, but plenty of space between us. Just a 5-minute drive to the airport, grocery stores and Hooper's Bay, 10 minutes to downtown Georgetown, great restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive, 45 minutes to the Barraterre dock for an excursion to see pigs and sharks, and 30 minutes to Little Exuma. Favorite restaurants/bars: Shirley's, Houseman on the Bay, Julian's Grill and Sharie's next door, Cocaplum Bistro, Da Beach Bar, Chat & Chill. Used the grill to cook hot dogs at home for dinner a couple of times. Disappointed that Driftwood cafe was closed our entire stay - menu looked great. Best part about Exuma: the friendly locals! Everyone was so nice and helpful! Take a Chance car rental was great!

Heavenly experience

My daughter and her fiancé (aged 26 and 27) and my husband and I chose Shangri La because it was just down the beach from where our other family members stayed. What a pleasant surprise! The house is super clean and well-appointed. Just steps to a pristine beach with gorgeous, clear waters. Check-in was effortless and we had no problems during our stay. The house was perfect and comfortable for the 4 of us.
