Whimsical cottage was just as described. The owner was very responsive with any questions. The location was perfect for our needs. It is definitely meant for a couples weekend away, but was sufficient for the three of us.
Can’t say enough good things about the comfortable and darling cottage. Everything was as described. The cottage is very well equipped and also has a back-up generator. We were very glad about the back-up power because the neighborhood had an outage for six hours the weekend we were there. Not sure how frequently that happens, but Mackenzie has you covered!
Mackenzie is super responsive and lovely to interact with.
This cottage is a real find.
The whimsical cottage was very cute and comfortable. It was clean to the naked eye, however there were cobwebs in the windowsill behind the sofa. I wanted to go sit on the Adirondack chairs behind the house it those have not been wiped down at all. The shower is very small and dark. I realize it is an amenity to have its and pans however they definitely can be updated, it is hard to cook anything on an uneven pan.
Overall it was a nice stay
My husband and adult son stayed here for a Hudson Valley holiday. This place is truly perfect for 2 people for a lovely getaway. Would have loved to be here in warmer weather to enjoy the front porch and firepit. It is decorated adorably. Best highlights: owner quick to respond, very comfy beds and cozy, warm gas fireplace. Just know that it is rustic cabin-like, so if you’re seeking more upscale then recommend other places. No shades except in the bedroom, no closet/dresser/place to hang or fold clothes. Bring bottled water and extra utensils and a travel coffee pot. We brought our pitcher to filter water but was still cloudy and sulfuric. Bring a couple of good skillets. The shower is very cramped and dark. Bring slippers as there is no central heat, just individual heaters per room and the floors are cold--plus slippers help you safely navigate the slippery loft ladder (not recommended for kids). Scope out a trash dumpster on the way home (like we did) as will need to take your trash with you (can’t take to town dump unless you buy a permit). These tips will make it a bit better. All in all, a comfy, rustic place for just two.
This cabin is in a quiet residential wooded area about a 5 minute drive from the "Main Street" town area. Pros:- Very quiet and relaxing- Location - easily accessible to several towns/areas. Centrally located.- Great communication with hostCons:- Heating - Took 24 hours to heat cabin to 70 degrees. It was about 64 and rainy outside. There are 2 electric heaters and a baseboard heater in the bathroom. Conflicting instructions in the booklet vs what the host said when we spoke. - No window coverings other than the bedroom. Bathroom is on the other side of the cabin and there is a neighbor who walks his dog often. - Water - Cabin has well water with very bad pressure. Water spits out instead of a steady stream. Difficult to do dishes. - Shower - the smallest shower stall I have ever been in. No way to shower without touching the side walls. And as stated, bad pressure. Water was hot every time though.- Bed - mattress needs to be upgraded. - Storage - there are no closets or dressers for you to put your clothes away. Overall - ok for a 2-3 day stay, but we stayed a week and it was not as relaxing as I would hope. The host makes several pleas for a 5 star review, but it is not a 5 star property.
We came to the area for a quick weekend trip. The cottage was a great home base, close to some great hiking and restaurants. It was nice to come back to the cozy cottage and sit by the fire. Love the area, hope to plan another trip very soon.
We had such a nice visit! The loft might have been my favorite part… if my partner hadn’t dropped to his knee an engagement ring upon our arrival. Memorable and a comfortable, cozy place to stay.
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this cottage!! My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at this lovely getaway and where so sad to leave! The home was meticulously clean and decorated with such attention to detail and love. They truly thought of everything to make our stay cozy and relaxing. The setting was off the beaten path but still close to great restaurants and historic towns like Woodstock, New Paltz, and Kingston. My husband could not get enough of the fire pit, porch, and outdoor seating (perfect to play guitar and chill) The owner was wonderful and very responsive to any questions we had. We cannot wait to visit again!!! Strongly recommend!! ❤️❤️
