A charming little house in a remote village in the Apuan Alps of north-east Tuscany. This is a gem of an area, with stunning, green mountainsides all around you, but still accessible for a day-trip to the seaside or to Lucca and Pisa.The house is at the very end of the village, a perfect stay for rural, simple, quiet country life amongst the local population of humans and wildlife!Fausto is a wonderful, welcoming host, and ready to help with whatever is needed. Keep in mind the location, i.e. mountain roads (albeit in excellent condition), and the nearest shop being approx. 20 minutes' drive. Strongly recommend doing a shop on the way in.I recommend trying all the local village restaurants, and plenty of wonderful walks and hikes (Monte Matanna being the local landmark).

Die Beschreibung der Unterkunft ist teilweise unrichtig. Die Zimmer sind natürlich nicht 1076 m² groß. Die Unterkunft befindet sich nicht in Pescaglia sondern in Pascoso, etwa 18 km weiter bergauf. Damit braucht man etwa 1 Stunde bis zur nächsten Stadt (Lucca) und etwa 20 Minuten zu einem kleinen Supermarkt. Das Haus hat auch keine 3 Schlafzimmer, sondern nur eines im untersten Stockwerk. Der Aufenthalt dort wird einem leider durch muffigen Duft verdorben. Das Wohnzimmer im oberen Stockwerk kann zum Schlafzimmer umgestaltet werden. Das Haus hat weder Veranda noch Balkon. Ein Whirlpool ist ebenfalls nicht vorhanden und die Angabe „Parkplätze verfügbar“ ist irreführend, denn der nächstgelegene Parkplatz ist etwa 100 m entfernt und wenn dieser besetzt sein sollte, dann wären es 500 m. Einen Check-in hat es nicht gegeben, wir haben den Vermieter oder einen Vertreter nie zu Gesicht bekommen. Bekanntschaft machen konnten wir allerdings nach etwa fünf Tagen mit den Monteuren, die die Gasheizung reparierten, auch mit einem freundlichen Nachbarn, der den Geschirrspüler herrichten konnte und dann auch noch mit dem Monteur, der den Wäschetrockner reparierte. Nachdem das Gas weggeblieben war, konnten wir auch noch am darauf folgenden Tag zuschauen, wie ein Gastank aufgefüllt wird. Das i-Tüpfelchen kam am letzten Tag unseres Aufenthalts, als der Vermieter mit einer Forderung aufwartete, die unsere Kosten um etwa 25 % gesteigert hätte. Dies war nicht vereinbart, wir haben abgelehnt.

Why they chose this property

The village of Pascoso is an ideal place for a 1-2 week holiday: it is located about 700 meters above sea level in the Apuan Alps Park (province of Lucca), so even in August the nights are cool and you can rest peacefully; furthermore, you can go for hours on walking in the chestnut woods but you are not far from the cities of art for which Tuscany is famous. In fact Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Barga etc. are just over an hour away by car, and even the sea and the beaches of Versilia (Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi) can be reached in about an hour
