This was our 3rd time in this stunning home. We fell in love with it at first sight- the backyard view before we even entered the home. The view is magical. The home is serene, peaceful, comfortable, and soothing. Zen-like design, warm colors, uncluttered. High quality bedding, furnishings, and other amenities. Rain or shine we adored the lanai. The hosts are kind, responsive, friendly, caring, and welcoming. While the photos are great, the actual visuals inside and outside are magnificent. Highly recommend.
What a lovely stay! The house is beautiful, comfortable, and deeply peaceful, and we love Haena. We could have stayed forever. So appreciate having such a soulful place to stay!
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and it was an amazing experience! The house has wonderful charm and is well taken care of. Charles was a great communicator and provides useful info for visitors.
The property and location are perfect. We wanted a quiet, peaceful vacation and that is exactly what we got. The beauty of this property is difficult to put into words. We spent so much time on the lanai just in awe of the beauty. We walked to the beach each day and it was so nice to have chairs, umbrellas, and anything else you can think of! I can only hope we have the opportunity to return one day. I never wanted to leave!
We absolutely loved this place!!! It was so gorgeous and the outdoor spaces were perfect. Easy walk to the best beaches and quick drive to Hanalei. Thank you so much!!
This place was absolute paradise!! It was clean, well stocked, and the back lanai was amazing! We saw the cows and donkeys daily, enjoyed both the sun and rain while relaxing. The deck bathtub is an amazing feature! We will be back for sure! The towns of Wainiha and Hanalei Bay are easy to get to, this location is perfection!
The property is even prettier in person than in the photos. Very quiet and very clean as well. The house had everything we needed for our stay. We road the bikes provided to the park and followed the walking map to Tunnels Beach. The outdoor shower and bath were great too. Thank you for the pleasure of staying at your beautiful property.
House had all the listed features, was clean, felt very welcoming. View is even better in person. Extra fans were appreciated, loved having the bikes, tons of beach toys/equipment, outdoor shower AND tub. Would certainly book again
We had the pleasure of staying at this property for 4 days. The views are breathtaking, we enjoyed a quiet evening bath on the lanai. Enjoyed waking up to the wild horses and donkeys in the back pastures. If you get the opportunity to stay, 4 days was just not enough. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your home and building beautiful memories with my family.
Such a cute tranquil little spot. It’s what I envisioned when I thought of staying in a traditional Hawaiian home. Green mountains out the back door, farm animals roaming on the other side of the fence, lush gardens all around, cozy lanai. Walking distance to Tunnels was a perk. Loved it all!
So happy with our stay in this peaceful little house. (Actually, not so little). House is as described. Communication with the host was very quick and easy. Absolutely loved the outdoor bath and the backyard. Fun to ride bikes around the area. Will definitely be staying here again!
We visit Kauai about every 4 months, but this was our first time staying at Charles and Lydia’s home. It was by far our favorite stay. Charles and Lydia were so very helpful and welcoming. The backyard is our new favorite spot on the island, we loved all of the horse, donkey, and cow visitors. The home makes you feel like you have the island all to yourself.
We stayed here for a very short honeymoon. This was absolutely amazing. From the rooms, the full kitchen, and the amenities, to the view and location, this could not have been better. We even got to say hello to the cows, horse, and donkeys next door. It was a dream come true.
Great location. The home is spacious and quite. Easy walk to Tunnels. Lots of beach amenities (snorkeling gear, shade, beach cart). The bikes were wonderful to have. For those wanting to hit Ke’e Beach and Kalalau…reservations are now required in advance. We didn’t know that and could not get in.

Sorry about the reservation system at Haena State Park. The website to make reservations is gohaena.com
This place is quite possibly perfect. The lanai with the daily visit from the farm animals, the nightly bath in the outdoor tub, the outdoor shower after waking to the best beach on the island, and the full kitchen to cook in, not to mention everything you need for the beach and a big hike. All I can say is thank you. Our second stay, we will be back. Hosts are incredible all around.
This was our second time staying at this house. We are already planning our 3rd trip there. The house is very clean, beds are comfortable, fluffy towels, and a well stocked kitchen. They also have everything you would need for the beach. But the best part is the outside views! We almost never wanted to leave the lanai. The views are dreamlike. From rainbows to waterfalls, and horses walking around the back area it’s spectacular. The outdoor shower and bath are a major perk! We can’t wait to go back.
This house has the feel and look of a Hawaiian plantation house. It neighbors a pasture area where cows and horses visit along with birds of all kinds. It was lovely just to sit on the lanai and gaze out at the open area with the mountains as part of the “back yard” that had a constant waterfall to appreciate. Bed was comfortable, showers hot and powerful, everything was operable. If your looking for a place with peace and comfort, this is your place.

What makes this property unique
Get an advanced pass to Haena State Park as the Ke’e beach is beyond park parameters and you cannot access it without the pass. s Set your calendar to get your pass exactly 30 days before your intended visit. Also note even though the home is really close to the park entrance, you still will likely need shuttle bus service to get inside because parking passes are very limited. Make sure you email the park a few days from the time you’re planning to go and let them know you want to get on the shuttle bus at Hā’ena Beach so you don’t have to back track to catch the shuttle. With your car or our bikes you can easily drive to Haena Beach Park, Tunnel beach, or the end of the Kuhio Hwy road to the guard gate. But, if you want to go to Haena State Park, the website to book a shuttle ride is https://gohaena dot com. It is a must for you to check it out. Normally , everyone needs to drive back toward Hanalei ( it is too far to ride a bike there) at Waipa Park and Ride at 5-5631Kuhio Hwy. Park in the shuttle parking lot to catch the shuttle from the start, unless you email them proof of your reservation at our home 2 days prior. Then you could ride the bikes to the shuttlestop at Hanalei Colony Resort (to the east about 1 mile from house) or Haena Beach Park parking lot (to the west about 1 mile from house) Also, unfortunatly, security is tight at the gate entrance to Haena state park. from sunrise to sunset. Unless you are are a resident, you can't get in during the day unless you are lucky enough to get a walk in pass on the https://gohaena website
As per website: "Shuttle riders MUST check in at Waipā Park & Ride FIRST, then you can get on or off at any stop. Staying in Wainiha or Hā‘ena? Email us proof of accommodations address along with reservation WS# 2+ days prior for approval to board at a nearby stop"
