Great location

Was pretty much what I expected for Hampton Beach. Location was ideal... we had great weather - and that always adds to a good time!

Good location. The Sails Inn hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach. The exterior of the building looks nice (although you can tell that maintenance is required). 2 clean pools. The bad reviews are given for the bad conditions of the rooms. Note that the pictures shown on the site are for a renovated unit with an updated bathroom. That's not the room we received, no pool view either. The 2 rooms we were offered looked much dirtier and old. The cleaning is extremely bad. The patio door hadn't been washed, the bathroom had moldy stains and blood on the hairdryer. The t.v. screen had splashes of some fluid stuck to it. Our front neighbours were having a party on their terasse, so we asked to change rooms. We were offered room 2B with 2 seperate bedrooms (for a surcharge). The patio door hadn't been washed there either. I'm not talking about 1 smudge or finger print, but weeks of prints and sticky hands. The living room decorative carpet hadn't been vacuumed because we found someones old elastics for braces on it, a broken nail and food crumbs. We were there for several nights (no motels rated above 8 still offered vacancy) and never saw or heard a vacuum being passed in an empty room. Again, in this unit we found blood on furniture, an unwashed coffee maker, an old bathroom with an accumulation of hand dirt behind the door, an open electrical outlet in the kitchen and even dried food stuck to the kitchen table. Bring your own cleaning products and scrub room before settling in!

Run down.

Besides the basics. Linen old and tattered. Towels rough and small. Bathroom stained tub and toilets. The place could use a little work! (Ok a lot of work) Good location though. I would not likely return.
