About the host
Hosted by Soledad Gonzales
I am a Real Estate Broker in New York, a Chef and Interior designer. I adore hosting my most wonderful guests in my beautiful spaces and have become friends with many of them. My passions are cooking, entertaining and my children and grandchildren. I am careful about the environment and it reflects in the spaces I design and products I use, such as organic cotton, natural cleaning products and more. I believe that living space should provide (especially in our current world) a respite from the day, and I hope to have achieved that in each of my properties. A place to feel safe, enveloped in comfort and tranquility. I had an award winning Farm to Table Restaurant in Maine for many years and split my time there and in NYC - the best of both worlds.
Why they chose this property
This lovely townhouse is in a particular area in Astoria that is in my mind the most charming. Near Astoria Park and the East River and facing the magnificent Sunsets over Manhattan it is steps from all the things that I love to do. Our local markets such as Parrot and Rosario's are foodie heaven, where I can buy ingredients needed for delicious meals or wonderful prepared foods. Greek and other multicultural restaurants abound such as Agnati on Astoria Park. I love to run along the East River and around Astoria Park. The community is warm and welcoming. This property in particular is like a "tree house" the master bedroom is quiet and with blackout shades a place to tuck into and have peace and quiet. The living room is large and bright and has truly the most beautiful view of the Hellgate Bridge and city beyond. The little schoolyard across the street has a running track which is handy. Near the tennis courts, Astoria Pool and so close to the city everything is at ones fingertips, yet one feels as in a little Hamlet rather than in the center of too much noise and activity when retiring for the day.
