Great location within walking distance of the train and numerous restaurants. Quiet neighborhood. 24/7 grocery store across the street. Secure apartment building with only a few units. Host Kevin is responsive and accommodating. Apartment well appointed. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who would like proximity to Manhattan, but would rather not stay there.

About the host
Hosted by Kevin Ritchie
Grew up in a small town outside Pittsburgh (see VRBO listing, Ritchson House). Moved to NYC from there... Astoria is great neighborhood, and my apartment is amazing. :-) However, I love to travel, and with the world of remote work, I can spend more time elsewhere. After becoming a Host (of the Ritchson House), I realized that sharing my space/hosting is a part of who I am. Therefore, I am now offering the Ritchson Loft. It's my home, its my office, and its my little... treehouse in the city. I hope you enjoy your stay.
Why they chose this property
The Cultural Diversity. Astoria is the most diverse community in the USA. Therefore, you can hear (or overhear) any and every language spoken in the world and enjoy the cuisine, and culture of that country as well. In spite of its international flavor, English is the language that bonds us all, and is spoken universally, so communication is never an issue.
What makes this property unique
It is a two story penthouse apt (4th floor) with 2 bathrooms, skylights in the bedroom, bay window in the living room, sliding glass doors from main area to the balcony, in an elevator building.
