Second time staying here. Host was polite, place was good overall. Lake is always great. House is a little older, but overall it's a great place to stay
Overall this is a reallynice house. It needs a good deep cleaning and some landscaping but we had a great time. Fire pit is too small and nor deep enough. Still got a good fire going. Planning another trip up there in the fall
The house was nice with a wonderful dock to enjoy the lake. The guest house has a nice game room and plenty of beds with a nice view from the second floor. The host was great AB's vet responsive.
Lovely outdoor area and the lake was beautiful. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for my family. It has the potential to be very good. However, the house was not well maintained. Many things were broken or not working properly. Leaking roof, malfunctioning hot tub, very little hot water, broken air hockey and more. It also was just not very clean.
Great location; close to shopping, skiing, casino, ice fishing. Kitchen had everything we needed. Firepit, hot tub and lakefront setting were enjoyed by our friends and family.
We enjoyed our stay and Michael was very quick to respond throughout our trip. We had an issue with the hot tub and a lack of hot water in one of the showers. Overall we had a great vacation and we would stay here again.
Everything was good, just a little issue with heat and water in the guest house. Other then that we had a great stay!

The host was very accessible and responsive to our needs. However the house was dirty and definitely needed some updating and better appliances. We could have used some washcloths and bath mats. The view was beautiful and we had alot of fun!
We had a really nice stay overall and would definitely recommend this property, especially for the location. It strikes a great balance between feeling secluded while still being close to stores and essentials, and most activities were within a quick 15–20 minute drive if not less. The outdoor setup was a highlight — the dock seemed new and well done, and there was a great selection of water equipment like kayaks (we just didn’t get to use them due to the weather). The hot tub was also in great condition, and the fire pit, grill, and Adirondack chairs created a great space to relax and hang out.Inside, the house was well stocked with basic supplies and had a nice assortment of games, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy our time. The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that some areas of the home could have been cleaner and felt a bit worn. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, and the bathrooms weren’t ideal.Overall, there were a lot of positives and we really enjoyed our stay — addressing the cleanliness would make a noticeable difference.
The place did not look like the pictures. It was dirty when we got there. I dont think it has been deep cleaned in years. There were dead bugs on the floor and in the windows sills. Lots of cobwebs around. We had a very wobbly kitchen table and one of the dinning room chairs was broken. They had screws laying around on the window sill in the playroom as well. The hot tub did not work ether. Before I get a comment back, yes I messaged the owners to inform them of all the above. They did offer to send the "cleaners" out but we only had a two night stay and we were at Kalahari for wrestling. The bathrooms are very outdated. The kids did enjoy the lake to go fishing. I would not recommend this place. It is not in great shape at all. The refrigerator has a sign to make sure you shut all the way as it didnt always shut properly. The water in the one bathroom sink was yellow. Even after running it for a while (im aware of well water as that's what I have, but I think the pipes are too old and rusty.) Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. Cleanliness and broken things in the house are the main reasons we would not book this home again.

We stayed here last weekend with a family of 12, and the house itself is beautiful. The lakefront location and views are absolutely breathtaking, and there was more than enough space for everyone to have a comfortable bed to sleep in, which is exactly why we booked it.Unfortunately, the property is not being taken care of. When we arrived, the house was not clean, and the provided towels were left wet in the dryer smelling heavily of mildew. We had to spend the first few hours of our vacation cleaning and rewashing laundry. Outside, almost all of the outdoor chairs were cracked and broken, and the hot tub was spitting out muddy brown bubbles. Most concerning was a major safety issue: the smoke detector was chirping when we arrived. When maintenance finally came out, they knocked the detector off the wall, left the wires exposed, and never replaced it. We were left for the entire weekend with no working smoke detector in a house where six children were sleeping and space heaters were being used. When I privately brought these issues up to the host, Michael, they were disregarded. He actually asked me to leave "no review" rather than a negative one. It then turned into bribing me 75 to leave a good review which I refuse to do. While the location is amazing, the lack of cleanliness, the unsafe conditions, and the host's reaction hindered what should have been a great family weekend. I hope management fixes these issues for future guests.

Response from VrboOwner on 22 May 2026
This review is false and a terrible representation of what actually happened.
1.) There were 10 towels left at the house folded and cleaned. The renter said that was not enough and we directed her to spares that were sitting in the dryer.
2.) She then told us about a chirping smoke detector and some dirty in the hot tub. We had a maintenance guy come out and skim the hot tub, and when he took down the smoke detector, he discovered it was the built in battery type where you need to order a new one. We ordered a new one and he installed it the day the guests left. There were and are 2 other working smoke detectors in the guest house at all times.
3.) AFTER checkout, the renter claimed the property was not clean (she said the floor was dirty) and said she wanted a refund. When we asked why she did not bring this up before while she was there, she said she didn't want the issue solved when there, she just wanted money back. We offered a $75 refund as a token gesture. She refused and kept insisting on $300 which we would not do. When she brought up the review, we said we hoped she would leave no review rather than a bad review given that we had bent over backwards to help her group including sending the maintenance tech out, giving them early check in and late check out.
Location is great right on the lake, plenty of activities and lots of room! Weather could have been better but we made the most of the days that were good!
