This little place is definitely off the beaten path, which is what we were looking for. We enjoyed cooking fish we caught and grilling steaks over a campfire. The kitchen is well-appointed and living area is comfortable. The beds and bathrooms are a bit more rustic than where we usually stay, but it was still comfortable. And Brooke was very responsive.
Had a really fun time at this rental the property and house was beautiful and the owner was very communicative and helpful when my friend lost his wallet she did a great job at putting our mind at ease while the search was on. All and all a great stay. ^_^
We had a wonderful stay at this home just outside of Taos! The location was perfect—only about 12 minutes from town, making it easy to explore restaurants, shops, and local attractions. It also provided great access to Taos Ski Valley, Sipapu, and Angel Fire, which was a huge plus for our trip. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The setting was peaceful and scenic, giving us a true getaway feel while still being close to all the action. The host was responsive and made the whole experience seamless.Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great stay near Taos!
This home was perfect for our family of 4 (older kids), we were able to have the best of both worlds: easily explore Taos and ski at Sipapu. We like to cook our own meals and appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Thanks, we hope to be back next ski season!
Lovely place for a visit to Taos and Carson National Forest
This cabin was perfect for our visit to the area. It's close enough to town for eating and activities but far away enough to feel like you are in nature. The place is very clean and well stocked. Having the bedrooms on 3 floors allowed for privacy and space from each other. Recommend this place!
The cabin is great! The location of it is perfect if you are skiing Sipapu it's only 20 minutes from there and it still keeps you just a few minutes from town. Even though it is very close to town you would never be able to tell, it feels like you are in the middle of the nowhere and is very peaceful. The inside of the cabin is very spacious and has everything you would need. The only less desirable thing we encountered was the water had a bit of a sulfur smell. Other than that the place was perfect! We will definitely be staying here again!
We enjoyed our stay. It’s a great location, quiet, and as advertised. Beds were comfortable enough, though many were very small and best suited for small children.
The temperature in the house was hit or miss, but space heaters helped. Basement beds were very cold, even with the space heater.
Some of the amenities were old/expired (spices, bathroom products, dish sponges), but we made do.
Short drive to town and Sipapu skiing.
Would book again.

Generally lovely cabin, a few issues
We stayed for three nights in late July with another family. Check-in was smooth, the cabin was clean, the stars at night were amazing, and the kids loved wading in the creek.Unfortunately, we found significant water damage leading down to the basement—wet drywall, blistered peeling paint, and visible mold, which were messaged the host about the first evening. The basement smelled and felt damp. Ventilation was also tricky. Only one door had a screen and one window was missing a screen, so we couldn’t open enough windows/doors to cool off the place without bugs coming in. The upstairs AC unit could not be felt on the main floor. On checkout morning, the host asked us to leave by 10:00 instead of the 11:00 listed, due to a same-day booking. We’ve never experienced that before. This property has potential, especially in cooler months and when the basement was not needed. With some maintenance and better follow-through, it could be a great stay.
The cabin was very clean and the atmosphere was wonderful. Lots of space and comfortable. Additionally the owner was prompt when responding to questions. Definitely a unique experience as it’s out in the forest a bit which is scenic but yet still a short drive back into town. Quiet and spacious with many of the amenities of home. Would definitely consider staying here again in the future whenever back in the area.
Tip - cellphone coverage for us was minimal at best so be sure to have the Wi-Fi info ready ahead of time. Once connected the Wi-Fi is fast and stable (we were able to steam movies).
We loved the space that afforded each of the 5 people in our family their own personal space. Our boys loved the creek that’s nearby and spent almost the entire time there. Also, the washer and dryer were especially useful after all the trips to the creek :-). We were also very impressed with the sky! We got to experience the Starlink constellation while we were out there. My astrophysicist husband absolutely LOVED being able to see that and we would never be able to see it where we live! Thanks for a great stay!
The pictures do not even do this cabin justice. This was perfect for our group to come to town from out of state for snowboarding and enjoying the views. Parking was easy and it was nice being at the end of the neighborhood. It was very quick access to Sipapu where we had our lift tickets. It was also a short drive to Taos for an evening out. It was cozy and relaxing! The kitchen had everything we needed to eat all of our meals there. The place was clean and the bathrooms had hot water. We played games at the table in the common area and enjoyed the comfy couch after days of activity! We can’t wait to go back!
Nice cabin. We had problems with internet connection and some lights didn’t work in the upstairs bedroom. Also no soap or shampoo in the downstairs bathroom. No worries really. We’d definitely return.
We loved this little cabin in the woods south of Taos. We stayed almost a month, and are planning to do it again. It is perfect for two, but can also accommodate a family. We particularly enjoyed the two decks, being in the trees, and fly fishing in the adjacent creek (the Rio Grande de Ranchos). While in a small community of houses with friendly neighbors, it is at the end of the road and affords lots of privacy. It was super clean and the host is very responsive.
Loved our time here. like to go back. Lacked nothing! Amazing views! you will feel alone here. are neighbors but can't really see them & never heard them.was worried about it being hot- was not- hot inside. we were all comfortable :) inside water does have a smell ( well water) but it did not bother us- we brought water to drink just in case. creek near by- can hear it..just a 2 min walk down to it. ill add a photo :) no luck for us fishing in it. like to come back sometime.
Booked this property and it was a prime location for everything, close to the mountains and rivers and at the same time only a few miles to town and great eating places. The host was quick to respond to questions.
If you want to have trees all around, then this is the place. And how can you not love the big windows with that amazing view? It’s not that far of a drive to Taos. My husband and I enjoyed being able to come back to the same place every evening for four nights. We used the grill which worked perfectly. Everything was clean, except I would recommend repairing the accordion doors between the main floor bedroom and living room. We loved our stay here!
This cabin is hidden away and perfect for a secluded getaway. Not being from the area we had to get used to the minerals in the water, but otherwise its close to Taos and lots of things to do. We had three generations there and everyone was satisfied.
House was great, location was even better. 10 minutes from town but extremely remote. Everything you could need for a relaxing get away in the mountains
We came to ski Sipapu and it was a perfect cabin with lots of natural light. We enjoyed the stay! Everything was so cute and easy to use! Make sure you take down entry code and internet password before you get there, as there is no cell service at the cabin!
