Good Potential
Positives: Location, very comfortable beds, short walk from car to door. Negatives: Could not use water to cook/drink(fine print of contract did say this), could not use wood stove, TV so old you can't log in to netflix or any other app to stream, too many thermostats to adjust, hodge podge of cooking pots and utensils, dinning furniture structurally questionable, very drafty. My negatives are just points of honesty. That said, maybe this place is in a rehab transition. The pictures were really filtered well in a positive bright light. WE DID ENJOY ARE STAY! However, with all those negatives it should have been reflected in the price. Having run a rental myself I know the effort and investment it takes and I think the owners getting there.

A Huge Disappointment
This condo was not in the least ready to be rented. Windows either wouldn't open or wouldn't shut, a big deal given the strong smell of chimney smoke that permeated the unit and was only tolerable with open windows. The shower wouldn't drain, and the shut-off mechanism broke off completely and had to be ordered, so we had no tub. Several pieces of furniture were stained and, in the case of the bedroom chest of drawers, broken. The kitchen was a hodgepodge of leftovers, so we had to use creativity if we wanted to cook. I applaud the efforts of the local Vacasa staff—Kristin and her team—for being incredibly responsive to our needs, even doing a second cleaning (getting rid of the leftover glue from plastic tub decals but on decades ago), putting plastic over the chimney to alleviate the smell (it didn't, but we appreciated the effort) and bringing a toaster oven when we mentioned not having a toaster. We’ve stayed in airbnbs around the world and have never had a rental that was in such poor shape, so much so that we are rethinking the concept and may stay in hotels from now on. On the good side, the location is excellent, with a pool and mountain stream that were wonderful for our July visit, and the bed and bedding were comfortable. This could be a lovely place, but it needs much more work and care. Vacasa gave us a discount because of the condition, but we still overpaid.

Nice family getaway near Mad River Valley
We were looking to explore Vermont, something close to Waterbury, Burlington without the pricetag. What we found was an idyllic community in the Mad River Valley. There are many great places to eat, shop and play within a short drive. Great hikes and sights, too. The accomodations were just right. The condo was set amongst the trees along a running stream. The rooms were comfortable without feeling stuffy. On the second floor, the kids had bunk beds, the other bedroom, a queen. Downstairs, a clean quaint kitchen just off the main open living room. We had planned to use the pool, but it seemed really out of the way. Still had a great time.
