My friend and I were in town for a bike race in Old Fort. The house was clean, had the space and amenities we needed and was located very conveniently for dining in Black Mountian and racing in Old Fort. Very enjoyable time.
Nice, very clean, well maintained older manufactured home. Well stocked with necessities. We had no need to contact owners on our visit. Easy check in and out.
We had such a wonderful family Thanksgiving get together. The home is perfect and in such an ideal location. We had so much fun taking hikes, walking downtown, going to the fun restaurants, and visiting the surrounding area! We can't wait to return! Thank you!
Perfect home away from home. The owners thought of everything to make the trip seamless and a wonderful place to stay. Owners communication is very fast. Walk to Lake Tomahawk is only 5 minutes. Area and house are stunning. Will definitely be returning!
My two adult kids and I stayed at the property for this past Christmas. It was just as advertised. The kitchen is small, but we didn’t do much cooking anyway. The bedrooms were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and we had plenty of room for the three of us. Our dogs enjoyed the fit in backyard and the lake nearby close to downtown Black Mountain and grocery stores, will stay there again.
We didn't spend much time at the property since we were in the area for a conference. However, when we were there, we appreciated the fenced back yard for our dog, the covered back deck, and the easy to use keypad door lock. The location was convenient to Ingles and has a sidewalk that goes to the park. It worked well for what we needed.
The house was just as advertised. It was on a quiet street off the beaten path, very close to downtown Black Mountain. Rooms were small but comfortable. We did not spend much time indoors because there is so much to do in the area. It was very well stocked. There were laundry pods, dish detergent, coffee, extra toothbrushes and toothpaste!

Thank you Kelly! It was a pleasure hosting you. We hope to see you again in the future.
Everyone enjoyed the stay and the little extras that were left by the owner were very nice(shampoo, body wash, lotions and especially the coffee). My only negative comment would be that I wish the coffee maker was bigger and made 10-12 cups instead of just 3. With 6 people drinking coffee, there was a lot of pots made. I would recommend this for girl's trips and family vacations. Hope to come back next year.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Hope to see you next year!
We enjoyed our stay in Black mountain- this home is convenient within town and not a bad drive to Asheville where we attended a family member’s wedding while here. Lake Tomahawk park was lovely; it and other walking destinations have sidewalks everywhere so very family friendly. The home itself isn’t grand but it’s ample and well-furnished with plenty of surfaces/places to unpack clothes, etc into. We found it adequately clean, kitchen equipped, and slept well.
The backyard IS fenced however some areas are only enclosed with staked welded wire, so if you have an escape artist dog it may not work. Our pup is a pretty mellow golden retriever so it was absolutely fine.
This home is a great value and we found it to be as described/expected from the listing. Lovely stay!

Thank you for staying with us! We'd love to have you back anytime!
The good:
*plenty of room for 4 people & 2 cars
*location was great
*lots of comfortable seating in the liv room
*the owner had coffee/tea/sugar/salt/pepper stocked (SO welcome)
*wifi was fast and easy to connect
*Back patio was wonderful for coffee
*keyless entry made checkin/checkout easy, as well as separating the group for different activities (no need to make sure someone has a key)
*Everything was clean (except under the bed, see below)
The bad:
*things under the bed (socks, clothes, candy wrappers)
*The microwave is very high and tilted forward. The plate hadn't been seated correctly and it slid out when we opened the door. My daughter caught it, and we used a chair to make sure it was in properly.
None of the bad would keep us from staying here again!
Thank you, Melissa!
This house was perfect for my husband and our two pups. The house was extra clean and had all of the basic necessities along with several added perks such as toiletries, extra kitchen/bathroom and laundry supplies! The property was in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to town. Owners had great communication and were the perfect hosts!
I stayed with friends and our dogs, the house was perfect, it was clean and comfortable, we were able to walk to black mountain, the fenced in yard was just what we needed to be able to sit outdoors in the evenings with a glass of wine and not worry about the dogs wandering off. Communication with the owners was fast and easy. A great little getaway!
This is in a perfect location for enjoying all black mountain has to offer. It was clean and cozy with plenty of room for our family. We will definitely come stay again!

Alex and his family were amazing guest. Alex was wonderful with communication before and during their stay and left our rental very clean. We look forward to hosting Alex again!
This is not a mountain retreat, not a log home, but what it is….is a home away from home. It was quaint, cozy and had everything you needed. The hosts took very good care of us and welcomed us to their home like we were family. My grandchildren loved playing in the fenced in backyard. Close enough to downtown you don’t have to drive far for shops and restaurants.
We will definitely stay again. It truly was a home away from home.

Why they chose this property
Walking distance to downtown. Very peaceful. Exactly .03 drive from lake Tomahawk. Lake Tomahawk Park provides users a place to play, walk, swim, gather, commune and relax within a 16.3-acre parcel located centrally in Black Mountain. Lake Tomahawk is fed by Tomahawk Branch and spans 8.9 acres in size. The dam, which creates the lake itself, was constructed between 1933 and 1935. Since that time, a walking trail, numerous facilities, and several structures have been added around the lake to form the park you enjoy today. Lake Tomahawk Park features amenities such as a pavilion, fishing pier, playground, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, public restrooms and a walking trail. Non-motorized boats are allowed on the water. The walking trail is .55 of a mile and is the most used amenity at Lake Tomahawk. The pavilion features ten picnic tables and one small charcoal grill. The Black Mountain Pool is also located at the park.
In order to fish at Lake Tomahawk, adults need to have a valid North Carolina fishing license. Kids under the age of 14 do not need a license, but must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Fishing licenses can be obtained online through NC Wildlife.
While there also enjoy the view of Seven Sister mountain range.
