The house met our needs. Clean and comfortable. But the atea around the property was very sad. We have friends in the area and had a nuce time overall.
We had a really fun time here, and especially enjoyed the fire pit. The cabin was cosy, and was very neat and tidy when we arrived. Would definitely stay again!

Clean, quiet, relaxing and cozy. Amenities provided were perfect for our needs. Close to hiking trails, restaurants and venues. Enjoyed evenings out by the firepit lounging in the Adirondack chairs star gazing. Comfy couches, beds and dining area. We loved our stay at the Cozy Cabin in the woods !

Thank you for your kind words. Looking forward to your return!
The cabin is lovely and has everything we needed in it. But the area is really a dumpster. The few houses aroumd it are half built half desserted, and we werent even sure we are at the right place. But it was freezing cold so we couldnt hang outside anyway

For anyone interested in booking the cabin, please know I do not have control over other peoples houses. The cabin is well maintained and (almost) fully fenced. The area is safe and quiet.
My Sister and Niece came from Florida and myself, my sister and Niece from NJ got together to catch up and spend some time together. We went to the Woodstock Museum, played cards and games at the cabin, watched a few girl flicks and relaxed by the fire pit. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too. Plenty of outlets and seating. It was a great trip! I’m sure we will be back.

Brief Stay in Upstate NY
The overall area was very nice and it was a cozy clean (if older) cabin. All communications with the owner/manager were prompt and all concerns/requests were taken care of. We were using this as a launch point to go visit places around the area like Woodstock, Hyde Park and the Vanderbilt Estate. For that purpose it was much better and more affordable than a hotel for a family. At least when we were there the lake was not in great condition to go in.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear the cabin met the needs for your family. The lake is not swimmable, its best for fishing or using the rowboat provided.

Though I found the amenities and comfort of the cabin to be good it is really hard for me not to mention the appearance of the neighborhood. Junk pied high, boarded up house and abandoned broken down car we drove past to get to the cabin . Saying that I do want to say once inside the cabin we were comfortable and I see you put a lot of thought into what your guests may need .. coffee , tea, snacks so inside was clean and comfortable

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and found the cabin to be comfortable. Unfortunately there is a neighbor who has clutter on his property. Sorry about that!
There is a lot to do in this cabin, we did s’mores at the fire pit, we tried to do rowboat but the weather was bad and the lake is not as we thought, the kids where playing soccer, we visited the peekaboo valley which is very close, the location of the cabin is a little far from some big attractions which we had no problem driving 40 min to an hour, the only part that it’s weird is the surrounding of the cabin there are other houses but the area around is messy and dirty with a lot of junk in the driveways and around but the cabin it self is great.

Hi, I'm very glad you were able to enjoy the cabin and its outdoor space!
I have to rate this stay as 5 stars. I get that the neighbors aren’t very clean and orderly, but it definitely didn’t take away from the cabin stay. Instructions upon arrival were thorough. Cabin super clean with a warm home feel. Everything you needed was provided including bath essentials, cooking essentials etc. Bed sheets were great quality. The vinyl record player was very nostalgic. I would definitely book again. Rest & relaxation was definitely accomplished! Thanks again!
Although the cottage is small, the layout is excellent. It had all the amenities we needed, plus more that we didn't use, such as the outside firepit and kayak. We really enjoyed the fireplace, and we worked on one of the jigsaw puzzles there. It was very quiet at night and the beds are comfortable. The only drawback is that it is in a neighborhood where some houses with lots of junk in their yards. Because the cottage has a fence surrounding it, once we were at the cottage, we didn't notice the neighborhood. When I texted the owner with a question, I received an answer immediately.
Great overall. Wi-Fi was not working. Tv was not working.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the TV and WiFi. I wish you had let us know during your stay - we would have done our best to resolve it promptly. We hope you still had an enjoyable time otherwise.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Catskills! The property does have neighbors (which is acknowledged in the listing) but they were a little nearer than I expected. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind when booking.
Other than that, the place was super well stocked. It had every kitchen item we could have needed and the inclusion of the boat and its necessary equipment was awesome! We had a lot of fun on the neighborhood lake.
We had a blast, the cabin was so cozy and cool. We were very comfortable our entire stay. The host got back to me right away when I reached out with a question. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The fire pit, grill, swing in the yard, and rowboat made the trip great. We took my 3 year old son out in the rowboat, it was his first time and he loved it. We caught a bass and a bluegill it was so much fun. We went to a waterfall nearby and a nice park where we also caught some fish. There’s a lot of waterfalls and parks in the area. I definitely recommend this cabin and would definitely come back. 5 stars!

Thank you so much for your great review! We look forward to hosting you and your family again!
The location is between some run down bankruptcy houses. Rooms was very small, bathroom too small. Hot water was so hot. Toilet seat was very loose. Over was very dirty and stains inside of the oven. Over all too small for three adults and 2 young girls. I usually don’t say any negatives about any property. This place is not worth 125 dollars a day .

I'm sorry to hear about your experience during your stay. Our listing does accurately describe the size of the cabin and its amenities, including the total square feet of the cabin and facilities provided.
Regarding the neighboring houses, we understand perceptions can differ, but it's important to note that comments about them being 'run down bankruptcy houses' aren't accurate or respectful. Each property has its unique appearance, and we don't have control over our neighbors' homes.
We would have been more than happy to assist with any issues (we have control of) had we been informed during your stay. We take cleanliness seriously and will ensure the concerns about the oven and toilet seat are promptly addressed. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we'll strive to improve based on your comments.
A nice place to rest your feet after taking advantage of some of the beautiful hikes in the area.
Small, but perfect for a single person as myself to retreat to, but even with the six people total it would still be reasonable, especially if you use the outdoor space or are out traveling most of your stay.
The host was nice and told me I could stay for a later check out, even though I didn’t ask, which I appreciated.
I forget if this is on the listing, but I think the one thing about the property I wasn’t expecting was the dirt road to the house, but it really wasn’t that bad or long. And at least at the time I was there, there seemed to be a good amount of houses with construction/a lot of miscellaneous items lying around.
Would love to come back in the summer to experience more, including the canoe on the lake!
I greatly appreciated the heaters throughout the house.

Thank you Dan for your review. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the other houses in the area, some neighbors have cluttered front yards but no construction is going on.
My cousin, her dachshund, and I stayed at this rustic and very clean cabin, which gave us a great retreat from a busy reunion weekend. Another cousin joined us for breakfast one morning, for a bonus visit. For us, the cabin was cozy in the rain, but might be cramped if it is rainy and all the beds are filled and folks don't get creative about exploring the area despite the rain. It is conveniently pretty near the Neversink General Store / gas station. There's a turntable and a bunch of vinyl albums!!! It also has an AC unit (which I don't think was in the listing) but we only needed it one evening. The listing says Woodbourne, but access is close to Neversink. The uneven floors might be a challenge for anyone with balance issues, but we thought they added character. Tiffany was very easy to communicate with. It all worked out perfectly, and we would happily stay there again. Highly recommended.
Lovely little getaway to enjoy what the Catskills has to offer!
This house was the perfect size for our family of four with room to spare. We needed a comfortable place to stay after a long day of exploring the beautiful area and this house was the ideal place to unwind after a day outdoors. With little kids it’s far more economical (& easier!) to cook than eating out constantly and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also really appreciated the thoughtful details provided by the owner throughout the cabin. They really thought of everything to make the place comfortable and welcoming! It was very clean and very comfortably furnished.
We watched a meteor shower from the yard (spectacular, you can see so many stars!) while listening to the neighbor’s waterfall. The fire pit and swing were great places to hang out. We also took the row boat out a couple times on the peaceful lake, just a short walk away. The wifi was strong and we even had cell service. The guidebook was very helpful directing us to local attractions.
My only word of caution to potential renters is that it’s a compact neighborhood with several small houses close together. This yard has plenty of privacy and half of the neighbors take great care of their yards. The other half use their yards as junk yards, but if you focus on the lake, hills and trees you barely notice. I read in another review about the neighbors, it helped me set expectations. And this house and yard are well maintained!

About the host

Hello! I'm Tiffany. My family owns a cabin in Woodbourne which they have had for about 20 years. We have fond memories spending summers in the Catskills, fishing, swimming, exploring. We greatly hope you enjoy our space and what the Catskills has to offer.
Why they chose this property
Our cabin is special to us as we have owned it for many years. The location is perfect for day trips to nearby hiking trails, places to swim (lakes, swimming holes etc), towns, parks etc. The cabin is small and would be best for family or friends.
