Birthday Celebration

It was in the perfect location to celebrate our son's Birthday who lives in Stonington. Very homey and comfortable.

The property was very well laid out, private, and in a great location. We appreciated the pet basket/blanket included in the room! The battery needed to be changed in the carbon monoxide detector and getting ahold of someone to change it was a breeze. The common area having snacks and extra supplies to grab is so cute and so convenient. Will definitely be back

40th Wedding Anniversary

Our second floor two-bedroom harbor view room was perfect -- clean and spacious. All the amenities to relax and enjoy meals and refreshments while viewing Stonington Harbor and lobster boats from the outside deck and through the large living room windows. Leisurely walks through the charming coastal town. Friendly residents and shopkeepers. Staff were friendly and courteous. An added bonus was when we discovered we left behind an item of clothing. I texted the next day and received an immediate response. Fortunately, they found it and mailed it to our home within a week of our stay. So appreciative of their service. A lovely 40th anniversary celebration!

middle of nowhere

contactless checkin/checkout (this is not always desirable since you don't have a person to talk to even though the office was right there), place was clean, very nice view. We had to park across the street and up a hill. key was very hard to lock the door-we had to struggle a number of times to get it to turn. no shades/curtains on large window-paned door. even though websites indicated several restaurants were open, once we got there they were all closed for the season in late April. We should have been notified by owner of this fact and warn us to bring groceries or drive at least an hour or more to get a decent meal.

To Debra and our future guests. Unfortunately, we didn’t get your message about the lock being tricky or your frustration with dining options until you sent us a VRBO message after checking out. We would have loved to help you have a five-star experience, but we didn’t know you were struggling. We have added some extra details about bringing specialty groceries in the listing description for future guests. Although we feel that the Burnt Cove market nearby does have a pretty good selection and there are also great meals nearby! To our future guests: We are sad we couldn’t give Deborah a great experience. You can call us at virtually any time of day or night because we have great customer service even answering phones overnight. We didn’t hear from Deborah, so we didn’t know that she needed help. Whether you’re staying with us, or anybody, communicating effectively with the host, will give the host the ability to help you. We are in the hospitality business for a reason and we really want every guest to have a supremely good time. It’s never fun when we get less than five stars. Our goal is five or more stars. Every single time. It’s really sad because this is a six-star location!! If you haven’t been you’ll understand what I mean when you come. It’s incredible. This type of low review stings and although it’s very rare, it could have been avoided if we could have spoken with Debra to give her the local info for places to eat and or where to park that wouldn’t have included the little hill across the street :(. Mahalo for reading. We look forward to hosting you. -Inn On The Harbor Team.
