Herbst's Hideaway on Seneca Lake

Nestled on a secluded drive in the heart of the Seneca Lake wine trail is our lake home we call Herbst's Hideaway. Relax in this air conditioned 2300 sq ft home which is literally 10 ft from incredible level lakeshore. The panoramic view is breathtaking. We also have a 100 ft dock leading to a large platform that will allow you to soak up the sun, swim and relax to your heart's content. Use the paddleboat, 2 tandem kayaks, 1 single kayak or 1 kids kayak to row to the swim raft. Enjoy the four private king size bedrooms (two with bathrooms) and keep the kids together on the 2 sets of bunkbeds.

Everything was as advertised. We had 8 adults and 4 children and the room layout was great. Also - there were plenty of toys and things already there that the children enjoyed. Nice location equidistant to Penn Yan and Geneva and easy drives to many wineries. Would love to stay again next year.

We had a wonderful vacation at Herbst’s Hideaway. Host Matt was informative, friendly and responsive. The property is beautifully situated directly on the lake and has multiple kayaks and a peddle boat for excursions. The house is well stocked with kitchenware, grill etc…, and the AC was great for warm nights. Location is convenient to Penn Yan, and both Geneva and Watkins Glen are also easily accessible.

This was our third year at this wonderful property and we’re coming back again in 2027. It’s the perfect size for our family of 6 adults and 4 children. Large open living room/dining room with a well stocked beautiful kitchen. The bedrooms were all spacious and clean with plenty of gorgeous bathrooms for our group. The view of the sunrise over Seneca Lake was spectacular. I thought the mattress topper in the master made it too soft but that’s my preference.

Herbst's Hideaway was a beautiful house with a breathtaking lakefront view! The house was spotless with a well equipped perfectly clean kitchen. The dishware pattern was so pretty and was all matching and had a large quantity. There was a Keurig and regular coffee maker. The linens were plush and clean. The beds and bedding were so comfortable and spotless. Communication with Matt was the best! I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful home on Seneca Lake. The bedrooms were large, clean, and had enough room for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was a closet full of toys and games that the kids loved! Outside, there wasn't a beach, but the ladders on the dock made it easy to access the water to use the kayaks. Water shoes and life jackets were also provided. I wish the water had been warm enough to swim in! We will have to plan to come later in the Summer next time.

Great lakeside visit

This home is spotless, well-stocked and sized perfectly for our group of 4 couples. The view is fantastic and the location’s proximity to wineries and breweries is terrific. This was our 3rd annual trip to this property and we are already planning our return for year 4!
