Separate private entrance of main house to a large, En Suite apartment in fully built out bottom floor. One bedroom with very comfy queen size bed, streaming tv, huge comfy couch. Private bathroom with shower, toiletries and blow dryer. Main living area has an additional queen sized pull out sofa. Enjoy coffee on the outdoor patio overlooking the Hudson Valley Mountains. Hiking trail on property, minutes from The Berkshires, Hudson, restaurants, culture and nature.

Incredible place, breathtaking views, top-notch hospitality, decompression at it's finest.

This is an absolutely knockout home in an extraordinary setting. My wife and I stayed four days and would love to return. The location is optimal for exploring the area, the accommodations are five-star, the hosts are incredible. The best experience we've ever had with a VRBO rental, and we love using the service. A jewel of a place and top-tier ownership and experience. Agree that the views are THRILLING.

It was a pure pleasure to host Heidi and Scott. Their communication before and throughout their entire stay was nothing short of attentive which made everything stress free. They treated my home with the utmost respect and thoughtfulness, the perfect guests. While here we had the opportunity for some small conversations overlooking the mountain view’s which we love sharing with our guests. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting them and look forward so doing it again.

Thanksgiving with a View

Nina was an amazing host and the house was nothing short of gorgeous. Nina left an indelible mark on our short Thanksgiving vacation when she graciously offered my Oma and me coffee, a tour of the grounds, and hours of great conversation. We will certainly be coming back--if not to stay at the house than to just grab coffee and visit.

Nice owners very helpful everything was in great shape but they needed to repair cold water faucet handle in bathroom I couldn’t seem to get the key to the entrance door to work so just left it unlocked. The place was all quality furnished and very clean. I would definitely recommend it

Gorgeous surroundings, wonderful hosts

My friend and I had a wonderful stay in Hillsdale. Nina and Mitch were friendly, helpful hosts, and their place is lovely. It's not clear from the description, but the actual space is in the basement, so be warned, those beautiful mountain views are not available from the couches or bedrooms. This wasn't really a problem for us, but it was a surprise (the description reads "bottom floor"). On the upside, without the natural light we enjoyed sleeping in much later than we might have otherwise!

I have lived my whole life in south Florida and used my New York home as a vacation spot with my family for the past 16 years. We recently moved up to the Hudson Valley permanently, as our 3 children are grown and on their own. I am a certified, non teaching yoga instructor but it is one of my passions, practicing almost 25 years. I love to garden and have a beautiful custom built raised bed garden which I can spend hours in. I volunteer on a local vegetable farm to learn the best ways to grow sustainably. AND...I just became a GRANDMA!!!

Why they chose this property

We built our home over 16 years ago and chose it because of the location. It is on top of a mountain and the views are unique and spectacular. We are one of three very private homes on this mountain. I have been enjoying this part of the country since my parents bought their home in Chatham in 1977 and love everything it has to offer including gorgeous car rides to anywhere you need to go. We are just a 2 1/2 hr drive to NYC and Boston.

What makes this property unique

We are centrally located between the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires. Each location has so much to offer in terms of wonderful restaurants, some with award winning chefs, fantastic theater, concerts at Tangelwood, ballet at Jacob's Pillow, shopping, hiking, Pick Your Own berry and apple farms, breweries and wineries, art and music festivals (Falcon Ridge Folk Festival) Int'l film festivals, museums/galleries (Norman Rockwell, Mass Moca), Botanical Gardens and classes just to name a few. Within a 20-15 minute drive to Catamount is a state of the art adventure park in summer and snow skiing in winter. There is also Butternut just across the Massachusetts border in Great Barrington. Or, you can just sit out on the porch or hammock with a glass of wine or coffee and watch the clouds pass over the mountains while the birds build their nests and the bees suck nectar from the flowers.
