Serene getaway

Amazing trip

Bright, cozy home with a phenomenal view. Convenient location close to the shops and restaurants in Friday Harbor. Host is friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend for couples or small groups!

Wow, wow, wow.

We've been to the San Juans several times. This lovely peaceful quiet home with a simply gorgeous view was a pure delight. The kitchen was equipped wonderfully, the beds were great and we loved every minute. I wish we were still there! Thank you. Wow!

Peaceful Escape

Our family of four had an amazing stay! The property felt isolated, yet we were less than 10 minutes from town. We saw eagles, ducks, foxes, sea otters, seals, crabs, and porpoises, all from the balcony. It really was magical and there was so much to do on San Juan. I recommend this property for anyone that loves nature, craves peace, and seeks adventure on the island! Bonus- the owners were so considerate and accommodating. Wonderful hosts!

If you want a beautiful view, this is your place. Amazing deck, hot tub, & sauna too!The beds are comfy, bathrooms are tidy & nice showers. The owners have taken a rustic shack & updated it nicely. Kitchen has everything you need, all newer appliances & adequately outfitted for those who like to cook.Communication with owners was great. They got back to us immediately & sent somebody out to answer our questions.We will definitely be back!

A Magical Stay at The Paddle Shack!

Our stay at The Paddle Shack was absolutely unforgettable. It was everything we hoped for—and more! I stayed with my 7-year-old, and we were both in awe from the moment we arrived.The outdoor space was perfect: yard games, a hammock for relaxing, and a hot tub that made for some cozy evenings. One evening, we watched a family of orcas and two humpbacks right from the deck—truly breathtaking. We also spotted countless bald eagles throughout our stay. Nature lovers, this is your dream spot. We were able to walk to the bottom of the deck and see bioluminescence right in the backyard. It felt like a dream! Inside, the heated bathroom floors were such a treat, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and feel at home. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered.Duncan and Karen were incredibly kind and helpful, offering great advice before our trip and making us feel completely welcome.10/10 recommend—already dreaming of our next visit!

We had every intention of exploring the island more but nothing beat sitting on the patio with our books and a glass of wine enjoying the stunning views!

Amazing decks and views

Our stay was just perfect! We loved the deck and views and had everything we needed right there in the nicely appointed house. We saw sea lions swimming in front of the house on two occasions. Truly a magnificent place to stay.

Perfection on the Salish Sea!

We had the best week here! Perfect little house with the most amazing view over the ocean. The house was lovely, the hot tub was perfect, the home was so private, immaculate and clean, and the kindest hosts we've ever worked with. They even helped us reserve a great day kayaking with Outdoor Odyseas. Such a fun day! Thank you Duncan and Karen for an amazing stay on San Juan Island!

Amazing Location!

This house was exactly as described, if not better! The decks were amazing and we enjoyed spending time on them all day. The views were fantastic - we did not want to leave! Location was also great. We brought bikes with us and were able to bike downtown in less than 20 minutes. The amenities in the house were perfect and it was fully stocked. Beds were also great and we all slept well! Looking forward to staying again 😊

Decompression Escape

Beautiful cottage with spectacular views of the water. Very cozy and well appointed. Even with chilly, rainy days it was a pleasure to stay here and let myself unwind.

This property is not far from Friday Harbor but feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. Absolutely beautiful views of the water with large decks to relax and enjoy. Clean, well stocked, ample room, good bed’s and great location. Throughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back! Duncan was very responsive to any questions we had.

Lovely house and location on San Juan island

The house is as advertised - very nicely remodeled with a lovely waterfront location. Close to Friday Harbor and yet far enough to feel away from things. The decks, hot tub and sauna are great. Host was great and was very responsive in dealing with some unexpected events.

Stellar oasis on the water

Nicely renovated home on the water. We loved the sunrise views and saw a humpback in the channel on day one. Hospitable hosts, unbelievable decks, and beautiful home with every amenity to make you comfortable during your stay. We will book again
