Enjoy this nicely renovated ~500 square foot large 'mother in law' suite. We call it the 'Art Studio, as we have nice artwork on the walls and there are lots of windows and a large set of glass patio doors with views of the 2 acre pond an 5 acres back yard .
You can often view wildlife near the 2 acre private pond on ~5 acres. There are over 100 acres of farm fields behind the home, all visible from the nice porch outside the patio doors (along with our neighbor's 10 acres with pole barn and farm equipment).
Located less than 2 miles to Lake Michigan beaches, it is an easy drive, less then 6 minutes from all downtown South Haven has to offer!
Many boutique shops, great restaurants and our famous lighthouse/pier and soft sandy beaches! A great farmer's market occurs on Saturdays in the summer and a community ice rink in the winter, plus lots of things to do, from winery tours to golfing to biking the 33 mile Kal-Haven trail, to boating, fishing, or just enjoying an adult beverage while viewing the harborfront...or come home and enjoy the 5 acres and the peaceful pond!
NOTE: the back yard is fenced with for the main house owner's 3 goldendoodles, they are friendly, but if the dont know you, they will bark and run up to you, so just stand still and let them smell you, and you will see their tails wagging!
The Art Studio is completely seperated and locked out from the ~115 year old adjacent farm home.
The studio apartment has its own full bathroom and small walk in closet, with a small table/counter for making coffee. The studio room is like a large, nice hotel room, with a great back porch and view. It is not perfect, but it is perfect for your enjoyment! We hope you will love the peaceful pond and large yard!
The home is technically a duplex, as this studio apartment is rented separately. We call it the Art Studio or Mother-in-law apartment adjacent to the larger 4,000+ SF home. .
The entrance is around the west side of the large 3 car garage. You will see a sidewalk and a gate, please shut the gate when done. There is parking on the right side of the concrete driveway, near the garage.
The pond is available for fishing, catch and release. No swimming is allowed in the Pond.
Note: the farmhouse is stated to be built in 1908, and is quite large for its era. Of course, the home is old, but has been updated. Please don't expect perfection, but do enjoy the nice, quiet openness, both inside and outside!
Outside, over 100+ acres of farm fields are behind this home and 5 acres and pond. Friendly neighbors include the home on the 10 acre parcel to the west, also with a pond, pole building/barn with farm equipment in back (along with solar panels and in ground swimming pool for their grandchildren).
Please enjoy our little slice of nature! If you see us in the back yard, please say Hello!
