Only .6 miles from beautiful and popular Bank Street Beach and a short distance to a great variety of authentic Cape Cod activities in the village of Harwichport, lovely walk to wychemere Harbor and the Ferry to Nantucket. This home is ideal for your next vacation getaway

You will feel very comfortable in the iving room with a Smart TV and fireplace, there are two dining room tables, one off the kitchen and the others, smaller one in the family room for additional seating. to the left. There is a fully-equipped kitchen . Down the hallway from the kitchen is the first floor bedroom with two single beds, across the hall is the main bathroom, further down the hall there are two more single beds, then across a Queen bed, as well as a full bath with shower. On the second floor you will find a huge loft bedroom with 5 beds and plenty of room to spread out more bedrooms offering plenty of room to spread out. This is ideal for kids. The loft has a whole house fan, All pther bedrooms have window A/C units to keep you cool at night.

This lovely home also offers a private one acre of property with a nice deck off the kitchen to eat al fresco. You can relax on the deck, bbq or sit in the sun and bask in the beautiful Cape Cod weather. Enjoy a quiet space for coffee in the morning, or have dinner under the stars. This is a “dog-friendly” home, so don't forget to bring the family dog!

Harwichport is a wonderful place to spend your vacation with a variety of different activities. WHAT A DUMP. Keep reading if ur thinking of renting this. The fun started on the 4th of July when we moved in during a heat wave. The owner (Dee) messaged me that we could only have 6 people in the house bc the 5 beds in the sleeping loft were no longer available to us due to the heat. Mind u, it’s 5:00 on July 4th. We had kids that had flown in from the far reaches of the US. Stated she couldn’t accept the risk of anyone getting heat stroke. She sent me listing that might have availability and I should contact that owner. Called VBRO, who spoke to her. Part misunderstanding bc the cleaner thought we had 12 people, not 9. She took 5 beds off line, last minute due to heat. House states there is AC. 2 bedrooms w window units and a unit in the family room. Upstairs- unit that didn’t work well. 4th bedroom- none. Windows couldn’t be opened bc one had no screen and the other screen was ripped. Other issues: mouse poop in the pantry, house was filthy, sheets were stained. One bed had crust on the sheets,pillow case had not been laundered. Renters are responsible for changing the beds themselves. Seems risky to me. Can’t see out living room window bc the seal on it has been broken. Decorative vases w dog hair in them. Deck tables were thick w dust/ pollen. Fire pit was crushed w dirty chairs. Place reeked of dog urine. No smoke detector upstairs. Has not had a deep clean or been maintained in years. Garbage bins were full on arrival, soon over. Had to call for p/u.

Just What we needed

House had plenty of beds sheets blankets and towels. Had to call owner for a few snags and questions, but they were promptly answered and handled. Location is great and plenty of parking spots. Rental is a full blown house with all convenience of your regular home. House is actually bigger than I expected and has a nice deck out back for relaxing. We made use of outdoor firepit and even left wood for next tenants. All in all, great rental property and I would stay here again no problem.

Property was a great location for us. Walk to Harwich downtown restaurants, shopping and beaches..

We enjoyed our stay. And communication with host was great. Upstairs area is great for small to adult children to gather and sleep. Very lovely spacious home new to rent. Tow lovely living rooms for gathering one with huge tv. Friendly neighborhood and dog friendly.

Pros: Lovely inside with plenty of room and all the amenities you would need. My grandkids loved the upstairs loft room and had a few pajama parties up there. Window AC units worked well. Cons: There were 2 toasters there but neither one worked. The gas grill was rusty and we couldn’t get it to turn on. The outside is a little overgrown and could use a landscapers touch. The .7 mile walk to the beach was a bit much for little ones and only residents can park there. We all had a wonderful time!

Reasonable property for dog owners

Reasonably priced for dog owners for the 4th of July week. Consistent with prior dog friendly houses with plenty of room and space for at least three families. Could be updated slightly but for amount of time in house, it was more than adequate. Owner was responsive when messaged and as a dog owner, would stay again.

Nice house quiet location walking to beach and restaurants

The house is on a corner lot, very easy to access. It's on a side street. So it's also very quiet. The beach is about 15-min walk. You can also walk to the restaurants on main street. The house has plenty of bed rooms and beds. The host is very responsive to queries and requests. We enjoyed the stay very much.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!

Great home for a family. The home is within walking distance to Bank Street beach and Harwichport downtown shops. The home comfortably fit a family five with room to spare. However, the home does need some cosmetic work in the kitchen and bathrooms. The owner is very responsive to texts and emails. Overall, the rental was a great week and would definitely book again.

Disappointed

Let me start off with the location of the house is great and it allows small pets. The house needs major repairs to the outside of the house. There are holes in the wood of the house. Bring your own sheets & towels. The ones there have blood stains & are filthy. Appliances are filthy except for the refrigerator which was clean. No tv as they don’t have cable. The internet is really weak, we didn’t even connect. The fire pit area we couldn’t even sit at as it looks like previous guest left behind garbage & dishes.

She did not find any issues with the sheets or towels, but I will be following up with her directly regarding your comments.I appreciate you pointing out the rotted wood outside—we have repairs scheduled for September to address this. As for the internet, our T-Mobile box has always worked during my recent visits, but I understand this may not have been your experience and I’m looking into it. There are three TVs in the home—one in the family room, one in the living room, and one in the master bedroom.Thank you again for your feedback. The house was unfortunately not well maintained. It had the basics but many things hard to find. The number given to contact for entry never responded so left us standing outside for awhile until we tried the door and found it unlocked, left us a little uncomfortable. Though we paid a cleaning fee we had to do all of the laundry, dishes etc before leaving. Was glad we only rented for a weekend.

Really enjoyed our stay. There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room. Kitchen was well equipped, bathrooms were nice, beds were very comfortable. The outside porch and fire pit area was truly a bonus. The negatives (not many). Confusion about trash pickup. Book said Monday. We put it out Sunday night, it didn’t get picked up until Thursday. Internet was non functional until Tuesday afternoon. Not a big deal unless you have to pay for your cellular, then it’s a problem. The biggest thing for me was nowhere in the Vrbo listing did it state if you use the linens, towels, sheets etc. you had to wash and fold and put away before you leave because the cleaners didn’t have time to do it. We had to drop people off at airport to catch flights so we didn’t have time to do it. It should state that in the listing. If we had known that we would have brought our own sheets and towels. Again those were the only negatives. Not many. The stay was great otherwise. The location is pretty perfect. Within walking distance to town. It was a great week. Thank you.

I highly recommend this place and look forward to rebooking it. The place has everything you need except for toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap, working lightbulbs in some parts of the rooms like the dining room near the kitchen, and most importantly, an a/c in the upstairs attic bedroom space (2 fans are provided and it was warm) as well as an actual body mirror as the one in the linen closet which was hidden out of sight and blurred). communication with host was ok not great and not flexible with allowing guests to check in early or check out late. Be mindful that the host has neighbors who keep tabs on the place. The host must install spotlights in the front and the back of the house. It's pitch black. Oh, and it could use landscaping maintenance. The bedroom with a size bed had a stand-in shower, but the bathroom pipes were loud. Also, it has a musty cape smell, and I purchased a candle to make it smell better. Overall, beautiful spot

You get what you pay for

We did not enjoy our stay in this home. We visited Harwichport over Labor Day so options were limited. I'll start with the good stuff, the place was affordable and slept a ton of people. There was plenty of space and the outdoor area was nice. However, when we arrived at the house on Friday, all of the doors had been left unlocked. As we arrived late at night, this did not make the house feel particularly safe, especially given that the back slider appears to have a broken lock and rely on 2x4s in the door for safety. We also noted that though the beds were made up, the sheets had clearly not been changed from the previous renters. There was dog hair, sand, dirt, and even what looked like blood on the bedding. Finally, one of the two bathrooms in the home was not functional. We were told this after check-in and since we were not informed what about the bathroom did not work, we could not use any of it, limiting us to one bathroom. Though we were told someone was being sent Saturday to fix it, no one arrived and no further communication was received. Paying for a home with 2 bathrooms and only being able to use one, when coming and going from the beach, is extremely disappointing.

A disappointing experience

Not enough space to write everything I need to. I booked 3 night stay with my 3 teenage daughters. I confirmed there was AC in the house, only to find a broken AC in the living room and 1/3 bedrooms with AC. All were supposed to have AC. I contacted owner, expressed disappointment. The owner then announced that she canceled rental demanded I leave, because I was not happy and should find somewhere else. Being evening time, with nowhere to go the owner insisted that I must depart and that if I did not I would be a squatter. I contacted VRBO and their representative said that it might be easier, given the owner’s attitude, if I left the property and they would help me find an alternative rental, which they would pay for. It was extremely difficult to find alternative accommodation, and I eventually went to a hotel room around midnight. It was a nightmare and VRBO was not helpful in this matter The reaction of the owner was uncalled for and unjustified. I subsequently learned that the owner told VRBO that a “Breach of house rules” was the reason for canceling the stay, which clearly was false. As for the house: it was fine, but I obviously didn’t stay long enough to truly know. But my warning is that you could be told to leave at anytime with this owner with no valid cause!

I have never told a guest to leave. In this case, it was clear you were most unhappy with the AC situation. You reported one was broken and the other was not in the window. This was news to me as the caretaker had installed them. One had either fallen or was removed from the window and was on the ground. Upon your report, I spent the first hour attempting to have AC's delivered to the home ( Home Depot, best Buy) and determined they would not arrive until the very day you departed. I informed you of this, and you continued to express deep satisfaction, implying I had done this knowingly. That was the furthest thing from the truth. I again, made attempts to find ACs to be delivered by contacting a handyman in Harwichport. He could not help. The next hour was spent looking for alternative homes for you. I looked on various websites, plus contacted realtors I know in the area. I sent you several options. I suggested you cancel and I would return all the funds, regardless of the cleaning loss to e and more. I refunded you all the money expecting you would be happy to find an alternative with full refund. The refund then became the problem. It was a no-win situation. It was very hard to assist you. It's very hard to assist a guest when they are saying they are most unhappy, but then told me you would not leave after refunding you. I was rather dismayed at this, especially since the funds were returned. You then escalated and called your attorney. I found this very intimidating and rather perplexing since you were the one who had the complaints. Nevertheless, Perhaps hotels would be more suited to your needs. Lastly, I had all new ACs installed in the home after you departed. A most unfortunate situation. I wish you had been open to my help vs escalating the matter and calling an attorney

This property is a complete dump

I don’t even know where to begin and I honestly wish I could post pictures. It was not that the property wasn’t “cleaned” between rentals it just has a layer of fifth that was unprecedented. The amount of sticky, compiled dust goo on the fans, floors, showers, windows, counters etc was absolutely disgusting. There were so many huge carpenter ants crawling on the counters. It was so gross. In addition, this place has a cockroach problem. They are in the cabinets and in the bedrooms. When we brought our belongings home, we emptied them in our garage so as to NOT bring them home. Sure enough there were 3 that we found in our bags!Eewww! The house has at least 20 pans all warped, dirty and covered in mouse poop. The dishes are much of the same. 2 of the 4 fans were unusable and the 1 of the air conditioning window units didn’t work at all. That huge upstairs “bunk” room you see online is unusable in the summer as it is so Oppresively hot that you cannot spend more than 2 minutes up there. The yard is piled with crap with an old refrigerator not in use that smelled and is actually illegal to have in every state in this nation outside as it is a death trap for a child. The bathroom had someone’s old hair ties and even a cup with some nasty liquid in it growing who knows what kind of bacteria. My husband spent an hour cleaning out the filter in the dishwasher as it had never been cleaned and all the dishes come out dirty. We were in town for a huge family wedding and did not have time to move 9 people and a tiny pup as we were busy with activities and trying to enjoy our visit. We did not cook there after the first day as it was just too disgusting. We changed our plans to host a family dinner, no one wanted to eat there! The owner is clearly a hoarder as every closet and cabinet was filled with old worn dollar store items that were literally unusable. The front hall closet was filled with toxic house paint piled upon gross God knows what. The tv in the master doesn’t work. It will not even turn on. I do not believe that this place should be rented out AT ALL. I am sure it’s a VRBO because NO REALTOR in there right mind would represent this Atrocious, Sad , Vile lame excuse for a house. This property is NOT maintained and you will feel like you need a really good shower after leaving it! Do Not rent this property. Trust me It is uninhabitable. The owner should be embarrassed how Disgusting it is YUCK!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!

I’m saddened to read this review. This family stayed for five days without any complaints. On the sixth day, I received a notice that there were of bugs out of nowhere. Alarmed I called The cleaning team. They denied ever seeing any bugs all summer. the exterminator, I sent in immediately agreed, he did not see bugs. The family before and after this guest had positive reports. No one has reported bugs or the conditions presented. The home had a spring cleaning and weekly changeover. I’m not sure what to say except be careful renting to this family. My sense was they stayed, had their fun , then wanted a full refund. Any future tenants are free to drive over to see for themselves. Lastly, the level of hostility and provocative remarks and overall negativity was beyond daunting.

Great location and fit our entire family. Comfortable sleeping arrangements. The property as a whole was good but repairs and some TLC are needed in and around the property. Overall happy with our stay!

Maison ordinaire mais bien localisée

La maison était bien localisée et plusieurs chambres et lits. Mais propreté ordinaire et beaucoup de travaux accumulés au fil des ans à faire dans la maison. Humidité à l’intérieur et nous avons dû faire rouler les airs climatisés à l’intérieur constamment. La chambre à l’étage n’était pas climatisée…pas très propre non plus…personne n’y a dormi.

Great location. Beds need help.

The house is run down but the living spaces are updated. Nice large TV. The kitchen is old, sink is new. Kitchen needs organizing and decluttering the drawers. There are things that need to be done in house. Master bed comfy, all other beds need foam toppers because the beds are cheap mattresses and hard. Remember your days at sleepover camp, yes mattresses are like that. The coffee table in living room needs wood piece screwed to table legs. We moved it so no one would get hurt. The owners are super flexible and let us check in a few hours early. We were given no key so house was open all the time. We wish there was toilet paper, only a half roll for 2 bathrooms. We wish there was soap in the bathrooms. The house seemed expensive to rent for what you get. Location is great though. Screen door needs to be fixed. Don’t go in basement, super musty. We do not recommend this house for mature adults that need good beds.
