About this property

L👀K Waterfront Lake Home … nestled in the beautiful Palo Pinto Hills.

Locally known as The Crappie House because of the great crappie fishing in the boat house. You are right on the water in this charming home situated on a half acre at the north end of beautiful Palo Pinto Lake. It is just a few steps to the water’s edge or directly onto the fabulous dock with conveniently located steps.
Don’t recommend diving off docks, could be stumps in the water! Private dock with 2 kayaks located in the boat house. Deep water fishing reported to be one of the best crappie spots on the lake, in a protected cove with slow No wake zone.

Beautiful sunsets and awesome lake views make this waterfront home ready for incredible memories to be made.

This home has a queen size bedroom downstairs with a full bath, and another queen bedroom upstairs with full bath. There is a twin bed in an alcove upstairs that is a walk through to the second bedroom.

Plenty of room for parking and security camera at the entrance of the property.

Caution:
There is a slight smell of creosote inside the home due to treated wood used in the foundation and on some outside trim treated with creosote. As a precaution we do not recommend our home to those with asthma or other respiratory issues. We do use HEPA rated air filters for the A/C system and a NuWave HEPA Smart Air Purifier, an advanced 5-filter system that can handle everything from pet dander to particles and fumes to molds, bacteria and viruses; exceptional clean air delivery rate, go-anywhere 360-degree air intake, air quality sensors, high energy efficiency. The NuWave smart air purifier not only meets all of the Berkeley lab indoor environmental group's criteria for choosing an air purifier, it exceeds them. That makes the NuWave smart air purifier most effective air purifier on the market today.

Lake Palo Pinto is on Palo Pinto Creek in the Brazos River basin fifteen miles southwest of Mineral Wells in Palo Pinto County. 79 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Lake size: 2,399 acres.

Very clean and spacious!

This rental is spacious and it was very clean. Sometimes the cabin on the lake can be a little "rustic". This place was not dusty or spider-y or anything. The master shower is excellent with tons of hot water and wonderful pressure. A couple of things we didn't care for. There was a really strong musty smell, the whole time, to the point out clothes and bags smelled like it when we got home. But there had been a big rain and it likely caused some mildew-y smells to "awaken." It's nature. I understand. We ran the air purifiers but it didn't help much. And the yard was sort of a mess of sticks, weeds, uneven terrain, and tall grass. I would probably think it needs to be mowed, but also a huge rain came through before we arrived and maybe that's the reason for the debris. All in all, I liked the house and our kids loved fishing off the pier. They even saw a beaver swim up one evening!

Great place to stay and enjoy the lake.

Only draw back is if you bring a boat there is no place to get it to house because of oak trees. Have to park it at top in front of property.

Well needed family time

We have stayed at a lot of different lakes and lake properties. My family and I have finally found a property that we will be coming to for years to come. The property was clean and the dock was a very nice place to fish. Catching fish is not the most important thing when the priority is spending time with family. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy ourselves!!!!!!

Rustic house on Lake Palo Pinto

This is a nice place to stay with a great spot for fishing. We didn’t catch any but didn’t try very hard. The next dock over were catching several nice crappies. The house is roomy with a large nice deck. Bring an umbrella as the sun is intense in the afternoon. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils and a couple of basics like salt and pepper and cooking spray. I think they must have left the refrigerator off between rentals as it took quite a while to get very cold. Once it cooled down after a few hours it worked fantastic. Ice maker does not work. I looked and there is no water line hooked to it due to not being very close to a water line. We just broke up some bagged ice and dumped it in the ice maker drawer. Beds were comfortable as were living room couch and love seat. Smaller TV but it had dish network. AT&T cell service was very weak/non-existent but we were able to go through the Wi-Fi for text messages. One window unit in the upstairs bedroom the worked well. We didn’t use the small single bed upstairs but there was little cool air in that area and although there was a ceiling fan over it, I think it would be a hot nights sleep in the hot weather months. Everyone liked the water pressure and shower heads in both showers. Covered parking. There is a slight creosote smell in the house but everyone said it reminded the of Six Flags. Might be a problem with someone sensitive to it.

Great vacation again

This was our 2nd stay at this great lakehouse. We had so much fun the kids were able to jump in the water and swim off the dock with no boats flying by. It was Memorial day weekend and the lake was so peaceful!! We will definitely book another stay here. We also caught some nice fish and had a fish fry our final nigjt! We love this property!

Acrobatic fishing

The house was set up nice. However, you need a step ladder to use the microwave and get into the ten-story bed. Outside was covered in cigarette butts and old rusty furniture. The other seating areas were very dirty. Very unsafe to go down to the boathouse. The walkway sat up at a 90 degree angle. Each time I let the dog out we spent thirty minutes pulling burrs out. The house was set up nice.

Beautiful Lake View

My husband and I visited this property to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We loved the peace and quiet. The house was very comfortable and the deck and boat dock were easily accessible. We arrived on Saturday and left Monday but on our drive home I told my husband I felt very relaxed (usually takes me 5/6 days to unwind).

Very relaxing

We overall really loved our stay! The only thing was that we couldn’t tell from the pictures you had to walk through one little bedroom to get to another so that made it a little awkward but it worked out just fine! We loved fishing and the hanging out on the patio.

Excellent home, beautiful sunsets, noisy power plant, not ideal for swimming, very low water levels

The property is second to none and the views are beautiful. We all slept really well in our beds and the AC kept the place nice and cool. Everything we needed was there. The kayaks were a blast but the low water levels (approx 8ft lower then normal) made swimming or jumping from the dock a risk. Also the water is rather dirty which is probably due to the lack of water in the lake in the first place. We enjoyed fishing from within the AC cooled docking house and caught catfish, aligator gar and bass. Our dog enjoyed the property.

Our family vacation

This was a hidden gem! Lake Palo Pinto is such a nice change from other places we have rented. So quiet and relaxed for Memorial Day weekend. The Gandbabies had a great place to jump in the water and swim without boats blowing by. We took the boat out and caught some good crappie and white bass. Will definitely stay again. Again a true hidden gem we even stayed an extra night!
