Located in Lake City, this cabin is in a rural area and on a river. Hard Tack Mine and Animas Forks are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake San Cristobal and Town Park.
The app had incorrect directions, but the owner responded very quickly and provided the info we needed. The house was very comfortable, well stocked and was perfect for our visit. The fenced back yard was great for our dog, and the fresh eggs were a bonus! Short drive to Lake City and the ice climbing. Quiet area. Would recommend!
This cute cabin was the perfect home base for our Alpine Loop adventure. The bedrooms were cozy and comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for our needs. Will definitely keep this on our list as a place to stay in the future!
We enjoyed our stay. We ate fresh eggs every morning. Nice and cozy cabin. Close to the lake and town. We sat on the porch every evening and watched 3 amazing bucks walk across the yard. Perfect getaway. The host was very nice and responded very quickly when we had questions.
The kitchen had everything we needed. Warm cozy clean rooms. Comfotable couches. King bed was great. We would like to have had WIFI. We had to go into town to a cafe to do some business. It was inconvenient to not have it. Dan was very friendly and helpful when a bear got in our truck. He supplied us with cleaning supplies.
Wonderful stay in a perfect CO cabin. It was comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. Great location, and our dog loved the dog run. The chickens and fresh eggs were a nice bonus. Thanks again for a great stay!
Great place to stay while in Lake City. Close to the Alpine Loop and town. The owner, Dan was easy to get in touch with and very kind. Let us get the eggs each day from the chicken coop that is out back.
Great place to stay with family.
This cabin was perfectly situated to ride in the San Juan mountains an the Alpine Loop. It was also very close to town for groceries, restaurants, and entertainment. The river and lake are close by for fishing which we were able to enjoy a trout dinner one evening. Great place.
We stayed here so we could climb Handies Peak. Dan was an excellent host and the cabin had everything we needed. It’s just a short drive outside of town in a quiet neighborhood. It was fun feeding the chickens and gathering fresh eggs. Thanks Dan!
The house is at the end of a private culdesac and is so nice and quiet. We had two OHVs with trucks and trailers and had plenty of room to unload the OHVs and leave them parked separately with a circle drive for the trucks and trailers. We had 5 in our group and all slept comfortably. The Alpine loop starting point is about 2 miles from the cabin, and it was cool to be able to take the OHVs into town. Great cabin with plenty of space to stretch out after a long day. Only complaint was the water pressure and hot water, but that’s to be expected with 5 people wanting to clean up after a day of off roading. Overall, a great place to stay!
This cabin was perfect for us. We stayed in the room with a queen size bed downstairs and the two 17 year olds stayed upstairs, which had a king size bed. There’s a large bathroom and a small half bath downstairs. Direct tv and a kitchen with all the supplies you need. It was quiet and secluded, located just outside of town and right before the turn off for Lake San Cristobal.
Thank you Dan for allowing us to stay at your place. Enjoyed every bit of it. Super nice going out in t he mornings and gathering fresh eggs. My son hit the river every morning and evening for some trout fishing. Had a great dinner one night with the fresh trout!! Close to riding trails and going into town. Made our mind up already we will be back to the cabin. Thanks again!! Janet
