Old Fourth Ward is a historic neighborhood in Atlanta. Located just east of downtown, in an area originally settled in the early 1800s, Old Fourth Ward (OFW – look for this sticker sported on the cars of proud residents!) is the birthplace of America's best-known civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Until recently, the main attractions to OFW have been based in history, such as the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Sweet Auburn Historic District. Visitors can tour restored shotgun houses, Victorian homes and Craftsman bungalows in the neighborhood.
In recent years, OFW has continued to evolve and redefine itself. One big asset to the area has been the proximity to Freedom Parkway and the Atlanta BeltLine, which has inspired growth and community investment. An example of this growth is the Historic Fourth Ward Park, dedicated in the spring of 2011. This park encompasses 17 acres of new green space, a two-acre lake, playground, a state-of-the-art splash pad, an outdoor theater, athletic field and a world-class skate park. You’ll find one of the many entrances to this park at Glen Iris Drive and Rankin Street.
Also in Old Fourth Ward, you’ll find some incredible dining and nightlife. Venture down Edgewood Avenue for bars and other hot spots – you may even find a hidden speakeasy. Some of Atlanta’s top restaurants call OFW home, so come hungry.
If you plan on driving there is plenty of street parking located on Morgan Street in front of our house. You can park on both sides of the street. Just make sure you don't block any driveways or mailboxes. The nearest MARTA stations are North Ave and Civic Center (They are each located about a mile from our house. If you are coming from the airport and don't plan on renting a car our home is located about 10-15 minutes ($15-$20 uber) from the airport depending on traffic.

About the host
Hosted by Michael Harvey
I’m a proud University of Georgia grad (Go Dawgs!!!) and also studied Finance and Accounting at the University of Virginia. After school, I moved to Atlanta and worked in finance for several years before discovering my true passion: hosting.
I started back in 2015 by renting out a spare bedroom, which quickly grew into remodeling a basement and eventually helping friends and family design their own vacation homes. What began as a side project turned into Host This Home in 2018, where I now get to focus full-time on creating comfortable, memorable spaces for travelers.
I also serve as Treasurer for the Atlanta Metro Short-Term Rental Association, where I work with other hosts to keep Atlanta’s short-term rental community strong and welcoming.
When you stay with me, my goal is simple: to make you feel right at home while enjoying everything our city has to offer.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Old Fourth Ward because it captures everything we love about Atlanta — its history, creativity, and constant sense of movement. You can feel the neighborhood’s roots in every street, but there’s also this buzz of new life and energy that makes it one of the most exciting places in the city.
The apartment sits just minutes from Ponce City Market, a massive old Sears building turned food hall and shopping destination that’s now one of Atlanta’s most iconic gathering spots. Whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee, browsing local boutiques, or taking in sunset views from Skyline Park on the roof, it’s the perfect place to start or end your day.
Just outside Ponce City Market runs the Atlanta BeltLine — and that’s really the heartbeat of the neighborhood. You can hop right on and walk, run, or bike for miles, passing street art, parks, pop-up markets, and restaurants along the way. It’s one of those places where locals and visitors mingle naturally, and you feel a real sense of community.
What we love most is how much the area has evolved around the BeltLine. Ponce de Leon Avenue has come alive with new developments, restaurants, and creative spaces that still blend beautifully with the neighborhood’s history. You’ll find old brick buildings transformed into modern cafés, rooftop bars with city views, and murals that tell Atlanta’s story one wall at a time.
For us, Old Fourth Ward isn’t just a convenient location — it’s a neighborhood that embodies everything Atlanta is becoming: vibrant, walkable, welcoming, and full of character. It’s the kind of place that keeps surprising you, no matter how many times you visit.

What makes this property unique
There’s something about this apartment that just feels good the moment you walk in. Maybe it’s the soft glow of the lighting, the clean modern lines, or the quiet calm that settles in after a day exploring the city. Tucked beneath a charming home in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, this space was designed to feel like your own little hideaway — a place where you can kick off your shoes, curl up on the couch, and instantly relax.

The living area is cozy without feeling cramped, with just the right mix of comfort and style.
