About this property

OCEANFRONT, Heated Salt Water Pool, Elevator--Safe, Clean & Near Boardwalk

Guests can enjoy private beach access over the dunes and a beautiful heated saltwater pool exclusive to the two units of the duplex. Pool area, large back yard, beach access with outside shower are shared by the guests in the two units of the duplex.

The owners use the property 'Our Place in the Sun' throughout the year so it is upscale with all the comforts of home. In an effort to keep our home in top shape for all of our guests, we require a 4 day minimum stay in the off-season and a Sunday to Sunday 7-day stay in the summer.

Front and rear balconies provide water views from 4 of the 5 bedrooms with ocean views available from the 2 king rooms and waterway views from the 2 queen rooms. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the table and 2 bars provide seating for up to 14 with additional table seating for 4 on the oceanfront porch. Flat screen TVs are in every bedroom. This property is perfect for families getting together for a reunion, holding easily up to 14 people. Bedroom 1 is on the 3rd floor and boasts a king bed, large bathroom with jetted tub and marble shower, chair with pull-out twin, large oceanfront balcony with swing. Bedroom 2 is located on the 3rd floor and has a queen bed, large bathroom, and beautiful waterway views. Bedroom 3 is located oceanfront on the 1st floor with a king bed and seating available on the oceanside porch. Bedroom 4 is on the 1st floor waterway side and has a queen bed. It shares a full bath with Bedroom 5 which has a twin over twin set of bunks and a twin trundle.

Exclusive to this unit are a private, outdoor hot & cold shower, a top of the line gas grill, a paddleboard, multiple boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, a beach cart, sand toys and pool floats.

During your stay you will receive a welcome bag from the owners with paper towels, napkins, laundry pods, drier sheets, dishwasher pods and other goodies to make your stay more enjoyable.

Wireless internet is available throughout the unit. Each bedroom and the main living room boast flat screen Roku TVs. There are multiple dvds available for both children and adults. There is also a CD player with bluetooth capability and multiple CDs.

The house fit our three generational family perfectly. Even though it was Christmas, the weather was warm enough that Melinda turned on the pool heater which everyone enjoyed. The house nicely decorated for Christmas and she even had a basket of ornaments for us to use. Only glitch was the elevator which was very finicky. It added a bit of a challenge to some activities. Worthy of 5 stars if elevator had worked.

Celebrating Teagan’s birth and Em’s 32nd birthday.

Wonderful views, perfect beach, clean heated pool, fantastic furnishings…good books and video selection and plenty of kid toys for inside and outside fun. We stayed 11 nights and only ate out twice. Completely stocked kitchen and outdoor grill were enjoyed by all.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The location was amazing and the home was absolutely beautiful! I have to say, out of every beach home we’ve ever stayed in, this home had EVERYTHING. Family gathering

It was perfect for our 3 generations of family with lots of room indoors and out, with a spacious, well supplied kitchen and eating area. The pool and surrounding area had plenty of chairs, lounge chairs, stocked with beach towels and kids toys etc. The view of the ocean from 3 decks is wonderful and it’s a short private boardwalk to the ocean. The home is immaculate and well cared for and we hope to return!

With three children in their twenties and their first grandchild on the way, they wanted a place for their growing family to come back together and enjoy each other. This purchase began their foray into beach property management through their company Our Places in the Sun, Inc. Their wish is to provide a relaxing and refreshing family vacation experience for other family-oriented renters who value spending time with family and friends through this and other properties on Pleasure Island.

Why they chose this property

Carolina Beach is a great family friendly beach suitable for small children with its extended shallow wave break zone. It is also attractive to surfers due to moderate swells that occur a bit further out. With close proximity to Wilmington, upscale shopping, dining, and historic tours are only 20 minutes away. Locally, Carolina Beach offers Freeman Park where you can drive your 4-wheel drive vehicle onto the beach. Masonboro Island is close by for shell seekers. Fort Fisher is only 10 minutes away - where you can go to the NC Aquarium and the historic battlegrounds. The North Pier is within walking distance of the property. The Boardwalk and Britt's donuts are located approximately 1 mile from this home. Carolina Beach has unique shops, great restaurants, and local scuba diving, jet ski rentals, surfing lessons and fishing tours.

What makes this property unique

Water views are available from almost every window since the front of the home is oceanfront and the back has waterway views which are great for boat watching. 'Our Place in the Sun' is located close to the inlet making dolphin pods swimming close to shore a frequent occurrence. Close proximity to the North Pier and Freeman Park make it an ideal location for those who like to fish, crab, or rake for clams. A private walkway to the beach with an outside hot/cold shower make going back and forth to the beach a breeze.
