Mountain Meadows (VHR Permit #332713) is located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, nestled away on a quiet neighborhood street. The back yard opens to Bijou Meadow. Heavenly's California lodge is just a 5 min. drive. The house sleeps six. There is a maximum of 6 adults for each rental group. Looking to stay a bit longer and work from home while in Tahoe? Enjoy fast cable internet and a new office desk and chair.

Mountain Meadows is 1 mile from the Lake, 1.5 miles from Heavenly Village, the Gondola, and the casinos, and 1 mile to the 24 HR Safeway Grocery Store and Whole Foods. The house is adjacent to the Bijou Meadow, a grandiose meadow which boasts spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Heavenly Ski Resort, Mt. Tallac, and Freel Peak.
Paths off the back porch lead to activities including a 9 hole public golf course, large family picnic areas, playgrounds, skate & BMX park, basketball courts, a 27 hole frisbee golf course.

Jeff was amazing! He is hands down the best host we have experienced. He was so accommodating with time, helpful information, and insights. The place itself was spacious, clean, and well equipped. We spent a lot of time hanging out at the house and playing in the snow. Shops were close by as well as other attractions. There were plenty of blankets, extra heaters, pillows, etc for our family. We could not have had a more positive experience.

This is a great house in a perfect location - hiking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, the Lake are all close by. We love the back deck and the trail that leads to a beautiful meadow. Beds are comfortable, kitchen has everything you need, and there is a garage for the car. The host is fabulous and very responsive so your choice is easy....Stay here!

Wonderful

A beautiful, well maintained property. Lovely decorated, personal but not overdone, just right. Convenient location, the meadow is literally in your backyard. We saw multiple coyotes playing/lounging. The house has a well planned layout. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect place for a Tahoe getaway!

Beautiful house right next to Heavenly CA lodge

This is a wonderful house that is very well maintained and in a great location, very near the Heavenly CA lodge parking, Safeway, Whole Foods, and most of the rest of the places in South Lake that you would want go. The owner was friendly and helpful, and our family had a wonderful stay.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

We stayed for 6 weeks and it was a wonderful home for our summer getaway! The house was well stocked, located in a great location and very clean. We loved spending our mornings on the deck overlooking the beautiful meadow. Jeff, the owner, was also very accommodating and easy to work with. We hope we can stay there again next year!

Wonderful stay

Great house in a perfect location for hiking, groceries, and all things SLT. The house is well laid out and peaceful right off Bijou Meadow. Great internet which made working from there a breeze. Jeff is a great host- responsive and helpful when needed. We were sorry to leave and hope to stay there again.

Listing description was accurate and location was perfect. This home was well stocked with just about everything we needed for an enjoyable stay Would stay here again when visiting the area. The lake was spectacular and the casino's were entertaining. Had more than enough room for our party of 4 adults. Having the computer to use was a definite plus....

Excellent home for our Lake Tahoe stay

This home is absolutely beautiful with plenty of space and all of the amenities to ensure your vacation doesn’t miss a beat. Super close to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and Heavenly Village. All of the beds were comfortable, hot water was plenty and the view is relaxing. Jeff was fantastic in his communications, instructions and suggestions. I would recommend this property to anyone and we look to visit again one day.

Great Home & Wonderful Host

We stayed here due to a local project we were completing. The home was great! Very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you might need. The host, Jeff, was amazing to work with! Due to a snow storm, our project exceeded the original completion date. Jeff was extremely understanding and accommodating by allowing us to extend our check-out date the 3 extra days we needed to complete the project. We would definitely recommend, not only this lovely home, but the host as well. Thanks again, Jeff!!

We had a few small bumps during our stay, but the property is well maintained and in an ideal location, as well as very close to many useful locales. There was ample parking, plenty of space in the home for our family to utilize, and a large kitchen with modern amenities. My brother was getting married at a local beach, so we had a lot of last minute wedding prep to do, and the house provided space for the 6 of us adults to do so. Having the grocery store and Target nearby was helpful for grabbing last minute items as well. Jeff was prompt in answering questions, and we appreciated this. We appreciated having ample soaps and such provided, as other places we have stayed have been somewhat stingy in that regard. A random side note though - the toilets are rather low to the ground, which my parents with their aging hips and knees struggled a bit with (just a consideration for anyone with similar situations). The house being one level and having only a step or two definitely helped with those aging parental joints though! The views from the backyard were great. We appreciated having a place to stay that was close to the places we needed and provided us with space and comfort during the stress of wedding prep and joy of getting our family together. Thanks Jeff!

Perfect cabin for our Tahoe stay

My wife, my dog and I stayed at Mountain Meadows for a week and we absolutely loved the cabin. First, the location is perfect. I was able to walk the dog on several trails right off the back deck and we were only a short 5-10 min drive from the beach & casinos. We were close enough to walk to both Safeway & the 9 hole golf course. Second, the cabin is beautiful inside and out. The cabin was extremely clean & well kept. You can tell that the owner has worked hard to make the place an enjoyable destination and the renters have taken care of the place as if it we're their own. For the first 5 nights it was just myself, wife, & dog, but for the last three days, 4 more of our family members joined us and the cabin was more than able to accommodate our group of 6. The Cabin was fully furnished with everything you could need, the bed was very comfortable, and the TV/sound system was perfect for enjoying a movie or just listening to music (including a handy hookup for my iPod). When we arrived it was chilly, so we enjoyed the fireplace by a click of a button. We absolutely loved the kitchen because it was a large space furnished with every appliance you could imagine, and we took advantage of the grill once the weather warmed up. I believe we cooked steak, chicken, tri tip, lobster, salmon, & veggies on the grill and it worked great. We really enjoyed the large open lounge area! Third, the neighborhood was nice & quiet and the neighbors were very friendly. As much as my wife and I loved the place, I think my dog loved it the most! Im so glad that the place was pet friendly, because we didnt have it in us to leave our dog behind. She loved laying by the back door watching the squirrels run up and down the trees and was very eager to explore the huge meadow. When we returned home, it was obvious she was depressed and wanted to go back, she just layed in her bed and didn't want to play for 2 days lol. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to visit or vacation in Tahoe. I plan to return again soon, possibly with my grandparents. They have trouble getting around, but the cabin would be perfect for them b/c it is open and there are no stairs. From my research on vrbo and through other tahoe cabin rental sources, this cabin is very appropriately priced. Jeff the owner was very accommodating and friendly. Overall, I was 100% satisfied with our stay. Thank you Jeff, for allowing us to vacation at your property!

We had a great time at this property. There were four adults and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you’d need and they even have a bunch of spices for cooking. The TV was a little challenging and the hallway bathroom shower water wasn’t as hot as the master bathroom we found but other than that everything was great. The location was perfect. Heavenly ski resort is a short drive away as are shops and restaurants. Kirkwood(which we would highly making the drive to) was only a 45 minute very beautiful drive away an bed had some amazing skiing. The property was stocked with all the things you would look for in a vacation home and we will definitely book again if we return.

Great spot on the meadow!

This house was perfect for a family getaway. Spacious living room and well equipped kitchen. The deck opens to a nice meadow (though given this year’s drought, it’s brown instead of pretty and green as shown in the pictures). Everything was clean and as advertised in the house, and the host was very easy to work with. Neighborhood is ok, it’s a long walk to the water but doable (we did twice). Conveniently short drive to state line and a lot of restaurants and stores. Would recommend!

Great place and location

Jeff makes this place feel like home while on vacation. It’s clean and very comfortable, has a very convenient location to everything, but still peaceful and quiet sitting outside. We would definitely go back anytime and Jeff was an outstanding host with his immediate response to any inquiries we had.

This house was perfect! There was ample space and the backyard with the huge meadow is so peaceful! The beds and bathrooms were all clean and comfy. The space was perfect for cooking, lounging, eating together, and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other ( 4 adults, 1 teen, 1 child) Communicating with Jeff was always smooth and he always responded quickly.

Clean, super spacious (pics don't do it justice). Plenty of supplies (kitchen was super well-stocked). Meadow off the back was fantastic. A very nice and relasing experience.

I grew up in Boone, North Carolina in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains where I fell in love with the outdoors - specifically hiking and skiing. After receiving a degree in Architecture, I moved to San Francisco where I resided for 16 years and met my wife. We currently live in Oakland, CA where I work at a small residential Architecture firm.

Why they chose this property

Situated on a meadow and only a five minute drive from Heavenly Ski area, Mountain Meadows is in a perfect location. The rear of the house is bordered by an 8 acre parcel that was formerly the South Shore 'Drive-In' theater. Open trails lead directly from the back deck, through the open space, and to the meadow.
