Tahoe’s Mountain Air Lair is designed and furnished for truly enjoying Lake Tahoe's incomparable mountain setting. A favorite for long term ski leases, due to its close proximity to Heavenly (4.8 miles away) and Kirkwood (32.6 miles away ), the cabin’s location is also within minutes of bike trails, numerous beaches, shopping (Raley’s, TJ Max, Bev Mo, Kmart, Blue Zone Sports) and award winning food establishments ( Tahoe Pizza, Sonney’s BBQ Shack Bar and Grill, The Lake House, and Crazy Good Bakery). The one level, three bedroom house structure with a large and accommodating great room encourages friendly gatherings whether it be families or friends. Three inviting bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, cozy clean- burning gas fireplace, large picture windows and homey décor are all features that combine to make a relaxed, yet elegant atmosphere. The enclosed backyard features a spacious deck and barbecue area. The front deck is a perfect place to watch squirrels and neighbors enjoying nature. Four bikes are provided to avoid the car lines at the beach entrances while facilitating a favorite Tahoe pastime of biking the many wonderful, flat trails that lead to Pope, Kiva and Baldwin Beach. Whether with your sweetheart or whole family, this comfortable, cozy home, is designed to enjoy Lake Tahoe’s spectacular outdoor amenities while enjoying all the comforts of home. South Lake Tahoe has a new cutting edge bicycle challenge course and outdoor recreation opportunities such as zip lines, ropes courses, rock climbing and snow park runs. Casino nightlife is only 15 minutes away to fuel your party side after a day of outside activities. For those who don't like eating out, there is a fully outfitted kitchen with a dishwasher, gas stove and microwave.. This Tahoe get-away truly invites you to relax with nature, read, watch a movie (on 50 and 40 inch flatscreens) or revel in the wonders of this alpine playland. Tahoe is great for dogs (fleas don't do well there), so we are pet-friendly as long as your dog is house-broken. Designed to help you download, decompress and plug-in to Tahoe's serene beauty, the home's internet accessibility and cable still allow you to be as connected as you want to be! All rooms have knotty pine ceilings. The Master bedroom has a king size bed and convenient bathroom with shower. Bedroom two and three have queen size beds and there is an aerobed in the closet. Quality linens are provided. The second bathroom with shower over tub is just outside the middle bedroom.
Four bikes are available in the spring and summer and there is also some water sport equipment. Happy memories are meant to be made here with your loved ones and family. We believe that Lake Tahoe is a natural treasure to be enjoyed by all.

This is a lovely home close to the lake and just minutes away from shopping and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked, and we were pleased to even find some spices which we used for cooking! Our host was incredibly responsive and generous, which was particularly appreicated as we got hit be a big snowstorm at the latter part of our stay!

Our Tahoe 2025 summer vacation was a blast. We loved this house and its great location. Our fur babies had fun in the fully fenced backyard and quickly learned to use the doggie door from the garage to the yard. This cozy home has everything you need to make your stay most enjoyable.
My friends and I stayed at this cabin for 3 nights and loved it. It's in a great location. It's quite spacious and is quite well stocked. Will definitely come back and stay again

The property was very comfortable and the location was perfect for us. Dave was very easy to communicate with. He always responded to my messages promptly. And the fact that it was pet friendly was a definite plus.
Property was comfortable and accommodating. We had pets with us and they had a lovely fenced in back yard to wonder in. The location is close to shopping, Starbucks and the beach. We appreciated the bikes and took a ride over to Richardson's Beach. Thank you

This is a lovely property, very true to the photos presented. Maybe a little smaller than I expected (1300 sq. ft), but a very effective use of space. Well appointed. Please be advised, however, that it is NOT 1.4 miles to Pope Beach. It's 3 miles but a pretty easy bike ride.

Rented the house for a family weekend in South Tahoe. Close to the “Y” and all associated needs and entertainment. Lots of nice space to relax. Second bathroom is a must for a family of five. They are also pet friendly and communicate quickly. We had a question and the owner got right back to us. We would consider coming back again!

Felt like home...
...perfect getaway home for the weekend in a family friendly neighborhood. Reasonably priced and affordable, clean, centrally located, kitchen stocked with necessities, garage stocked with toys, etc. Modern comforts such as the large TV and beautiful fireplace made the living room an awesome hangout spot to play cards in the evening and have coffee in the morning. Conversing with the owners prior to arrival was prompt and informative and we had no problems during our stay. We definitely recommend!

My husband and I rented this property for 3 nights in Mid-July and we were very pleased with our stay. Michele and Dave were very communicative before we checked in, even giving us tips about the weather and the hiking situation around the area. There was a handy binder with lots of property and area info in the home when we checked in. The restaurant suggestions were especially helpful and we took advantage of that more than once. We brought our two small dogs with us and they acclimated well to the home the first night. The backyard was completely fenced in and while there was a dog door in the garage, we just let the dogs out via the back patio door. The listing for this property is extremely accurate and there was a checkout checklist provided by the owners which helped our checkout process immensely. We also left a couple of comments on that sheet for the owners. I’m overall very pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to stay here again. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and good for dog walks in the evening and morning. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to explore South Lake Tahoe but leave the noise behind at night. Thank you Michele and Dave for letting us rent your home!

We loved being at Lake Tahoe again. Being at the rental was close to everything at south shore. We easily visited our favorite places to eat and found a few new ones. It had 3 bedrooms which was ideal for the four of us and our 2 dachshunds. Michelle as great and answered our questions promptly. Would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed the Tahoe charm of this comfortable, well stocked home. Beautiful yard and deck under the pines. Quiet neighborhood. Will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Michele and Dave
Outdoor lovers, we love to hike, kayak, bike-ride and enjoy fresh mountain air. One of us, loves to jump in the 'refreshing' lake, while the other likes to bring the dogs to the dog beach and let them jump in. One of us loves to read outside on the deck while the other devises 'epic' hikes to talk her into. One will go out skiing while the other will relax by the fire and they will both think they have the better deal! Our vision is to have many happy memories exploring this beautiful area and sharing it with our family, friends and especially our grandchildren. We hope you will too!
Why they chose this property
The Y location, close to grocery shopping, the beaches and hiking trails is this property's draw. Growing up, trips to Tahoe were more about the parents going to the casinos and I spent many hours pushing my cousin who was a Vietnam Vet through them. Now, with casinos throughout California, Tahoe's real appeal is its alpine location, the incredible lake and the numerous new outdoor activities (rock climbing, parasailing, gondolas, outdoor concerts and plays, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and even ziplining). Luckily, our location allows access to the beaches with a easy bike ride which serves a dual purpose, exercise and saving parking fees. We provide four bikes which is a tremendous cost savings in itself and really convenient for avoiding the traffic to the beaches and consequent parking fees. It is pet friendly so you don't have to leave your best friend behind or pay those kennel fees and the one story floorplan makes it easy to navigate for seniors or anyone who just hates stairs. And if you like to dance, gamble, or people watch, the casinos are a quick 15 minute drive away.
What makes this property unique
Sitting on the outside back and front decks in the summer; biking to Richardson's beach and listening to music while sunbathing or swimming in the largest alpine lake in the United States. We have also grown to love Fallen Leaf Lake for its calm waters, just bring your water shoes for the rocky bottom. Some people feel you have to camp to get close to nature, but with this cozy cabin , you can have it all. Hike Mt. Tallac and enjoy awe-inspiring views or meditate by gazing at the blue crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe while letting your dogs enjoy the dog-friendly beach.
